Apple According to Forbes, in the past 10 years Apple has sold over 1.2 billion iPhones alone, adding up to about $100 billion in net profit. In 2015 alone Apple spent $933 million on only advertising, but who are they trying to get to buy their products? Companies similar to Apple have started to target younger audiences by buying advertising space on social media sites that are more commonly used by younger individuals. This technique is one of the most common, because it is used to create a brand identity. This essay will examine Apple’s company’s background, advertising techniques and location, and how it’s advertising affects today’s youth.

MP#1: Apple’s placement of advertisements is very wise, they will try to put there ads where there is a high number of potential product buyers. SS#1: One of the most common places to find an advertisement by Apple is on Twitter, according to adweek.com. SS#2: Adweek.com wrote, “...Promoted Tweets showed up for anyone searching most keywords associated to Apple and watches…”, this means that anything that is remotely associated with Apple and its watches will bring up an advertisement by Apple. SS#3: Adweek.com also stated that, “There was basically no room for rivals to use the messaging service to hijack its big moment while unveiling the Apple Watch.
