Nature is the inherent features of something. Genetics also is a big part of nature. Anais and Sam are identical twins. They were separated at birth and adopted by different parents. Although they did not grow up together they had come to know that they have a lot of similarities. These girls have the same laugh, it sounds the exact same. Anais and Sam both do not like when the shower curtain touches them, and they even have the same favorite drink. Twins have very special bonds that include having very familiar likings and dislikings. They also have most of the same habits and interests. A big thing that is common among twins is that they end up getting the same IQ results and test scores. Some scientist had even shown that twins are more …show more content…
Anais and Sam may have many similarities, but they did not even grow up together, have the same adopted parents, or go to the same school. From that being said nature definitely, plays a big part throughout these girls. Many twins are very similar in different ways. Some might be getting the same test scores as the other based on the knowledge of their parents, but others might get the same results on a test based on the different ways they study. The Jim twins are exactly like Anais and Sam. They both are twins who were separated at birth. Not only that but they found out that they both had so much in common with their twin. Even though the Jim twins had even more unbelievable similarities they also had some differences. Which would involve not growing up with the same parents, childhood, friends, schooling, and even more. There was a story that was talking about how a young girl was abandoned by her family so a pack of stray dogs took her in and raised her. She was eventually found at age eight. This girl showed many traits of a dog. She had walked on all fours, barked, and even developed a better sense of smell, hearing, and taste. With this being said the girl had developed the nurture side of things rather than the nature side. Genie being a feral child had hardly got any food. When she was found she only weighed 59 pounds. When Genie was found, like I said she had no grasp of communication or language. She learned that if she were to make a sound she would badly beat, and she learned that at a very young age. Luckily she was saved later in life and was taught very different how to act and behave around others. Also meaning she was nurtured a different way and luckily started to catch on and get
This is shown in their choice of guys. They also both share the same parents. They are the same. Sarah, who is dead now, also has Dr. John and Mama as well. parents.
Genes are expected to give offspring hereditary similarities to the parent. However, this was not known and Gregory Mendel asked himself what was passed on by parents to their offspring that is the basis for similarity. Mendel would go on through experiments with pea plants to answer short questions. The answers were short as well as to say that the passing of characteristics from parents to the offspring is throug...
Identical, conjoined, and half-twins are all examples of intrinsic variability in humans. Intrinsic variability exists in all animals and is an adaptive mechanism built into the nervous system in response to input. This mechanism allows humans to distinguish the same inputs as different from one another and therefore, the possible outputs vary with time. It is possible that due to identical genetic input, the twins could share identical neural pathways and identical I-Functions. This hypothesis could explain the identical behaviors and inter-connectedness of feelings and thoughts that twins share. Differences that are seen in twin behaviors could simply be due to intrinsic variability causing differing output or behaviors.
The last part to consider for a conclusion to the question being studied is how the twins are agents or react in social activities. As seen most in the videos, the twins in the social scenes are two different people. For example, the scene in the English classroom Abby is clearly the more dominant one over Brittany as she takes control and speaks directly towards the teacher. Even Boozikee mentions that Abby is more outgoing and bossy; while Brittany is more laid back, quiet and more reserved in her own world. When the twins were younger they did participate in many sports, Patty and Mike say that there eye coordination while playing the sports was very surprising because of how much of a grip they had. As they get older they speak about marriage and children, but the only thing said was that they get married, then they feel they will have to take care of their parents. As far as having a career they had similar but different majors that they had in mind. Abby wanted to be able to do something in Math with kids, while Brittany wanted to work pre-primary from birth to sixth grade. They both decided on becoming a part time math teacher to 4th and 5th graders would fit best for the both of them. However, when they were younger they had two different views on careers; as Patty stated one wanted to be a pilot and the other a dentist. This last piece of information shows how the twins are
Because of this debate there have been many tests and studies that have been done on twins. A lot of these studies include ones with twins that were either raised together or raised separately and they try to determine the outcome of whether the twins have similarities or differences in their behavior. There are plenty studies about twins who were separated at birth reunite later in life as adults to discover that they were the same person growing up, using the same brand of toothpaste, or liking the same cereals, or that they had given the same name to their children. This is the suggestion that jeans played into the role of the personality development, giving nature the upper hand. But then when scientist start tackling into the depth of this argument, going to more deep ethical questions, or perhaps it was theenvironment they grew up in that made them like these things. It is the way that one turns out where the nature versus nurture her comes into play. The ultimate answer as to which comes on
Nature, which is also known as hereditary, is the genetic makeup (DNA) that an individual carries from birth until death. Hereditary characteristics are different in each individual, group and humans in comparison to other species. Nurture on the other hand refers to environmental factors and similar to nature, an individual is also exposed from birth until death. These factors involve elements such as physical environments (prenatal nutrition) and social environments (media and peer pressure). (Social Issues Referencing, 2007)
Today, realising that genes and environment cooperate and interact synergistically, traditional dichotomy of nature vs. nurture is commonly seen as a false dichotomy. Especially operant conditioning, i.e. the learning of the consequences of one's own behavior can lead to positive feedback loops between genetic predispositions and behavioral consequences that render the question as to cause and effect nonsensical. Positive feedback has the inherent tendency to exponentially amplify any initial small differences. For example, an at birth negligible difference between two brothers in a gene affecting IQ to a small percentage, may lead to one discovering a book the will spark his interest in reading, while the other never gets to see that book. One becomes an avid reader who loves intellectual challenges while the other never finds a real interest in books, but hangs out with his friends more often. Eventually, the reading brother may end up with highly different IQ scores in standardized tests, simply because the book loving brother has had more opportunities to train his brain. Had both brother received identical environmental input, their IQ scores would hardly differ.
Dr. Eileen Pearlman says that “The separation and individuation process begins early in life, and for some twins it takes longer than others as not only do twins need to learn to separate and individuate from their mothers but they also have to learn to separate and individuate from each other.” The constant comparison from individuals looking into their life can make this harder for twins. People need to understand that with being a twin there are advantages but also disadvantages. People and even family members of twins can fail to realize this. The figment of people's imagination is that twins get along, have similar tastes, and are the exactly alike, almost the same
I have found that people have expectations of twins. The most common assumptions are that just because we look alike, my sister and I must have the same personality, dress the same all the time, like the same things, have the same friends, and g...
One of the most well-known debates in psychology is nature versus nurture. Nature is pre-determined traits, influenced by biological factors and genetics. Physical characteristics such as height, hair color, and eye color is all determined by the genetics we inherit. Nurture is the influence of environmental factors. Nature and nurture affects the physical, emotional, and social development of a child.
Nature vs nurture debate is one of the oldest arguments in the history of psychology. It is the scientific cultural, and philosophical debate about whether human culture, behavior, and personality are caused primarily by nature or nurture. Nature and nurture are both equally important. They are the two are major influences that affect the person you grow to be and will determine what your children will be tomorrow. Nature refers to heredity, which are traits and features that are inherited from your parents and ancestors. At birth you, as a person, inherits 50% of each parent 's genetic material that are passed along through the chromosomes found in the DNA. Hair color, height, body type, and eye color are some examples of characteristics
Have you ever wondered what makes you unique? The reason you are unique is because of genetic variation. Genetic variation is what makes humans all look different than each other such as hair color, eye color and skin color . Variation in the same species is based on genetic and environmental factors. Species that are the same have very similar genes but are not exact. This has to do with sexual reproduction traits of parents and offspring, parents give half of each chromosome pair. It is uncommon for there to be variation that genes carry resulting in a mutation. Genes control the traits in an organism but the environment and DNA does change things like appearance, behavior and having an offspring.
Nature is the Genes or genetics you receive from your parents that make you similar in many ways like for instance when my dad was younger he had blonde hair and right now i have blonde hair and if you were deformed or anything like that it’s most likely from your genetics for instance say i’m african american and my mom married a white person there’s more of a chance i was born african american because of my genetics from my mom which would make me more african than american
However, the diversity between the two is not always as spot on as they think, well, at least initially they don’t. They share characteristics such as independence and responsibility but play particular roles throughout life. Other characteristics that both compare and contrast such as innocence is a factor. And, of course, everyone develops differently with their own episodes as a child and then to become of
It is true that identical twins who are raised together have many things in common,
