The concept of violence might only represent a negative image. It refers to a set of radical human behaviors, for example, perpetrator would use physical force to hurt or kill people on purpose. Besides, the typology of violence in World Health Organization (WHO) has an explicit structure, which comprise physical, psychological, and sexual to families, partners, friends or strangers (). However, in this essay I shall focus on critically analyzing Farkhanda Younis’ story, which could reflect how violence against women as an urgent issue in our society.

On 19 April 2013, a six-year old boy called 999 said he could not assess in his mother’s room because it was locked. After police came that they found a young mother’s body. Farkhanda Younis, who was found dead and her body had stabbed at least 19 times. Ms Younis’ families told police that Ms Younis had suffered from domestic violence and she wants to end this relationship. In addition, she had rejected to assist Jahangir Nazar in obtaining a permanent visa in England, who Ms Younis’ husband is. To combine both of crime scene’s investigation and families and neighbours’ testimonies that police confirmed Jahangir Nazar is the murder. Three days after, Nazar was arrested on his way to a railway station in Newcastle. Meanwhile, police found he carried a large amount of cash. Nazar had admitted manslaughter to try to diminish responsibility, previously. However, his plea was rejected and stands trial on charges of murder. Hence, he would stay at least 22 years in the jail.

Although Ms Younis’ case is a quite extreme case that it is still playing a significant role to awaken people to pay attention to the study of violence against women. Base on her story that Ms Youni...

...e human rights that could protect them away from violence. Secondly, encourage them to join some violence against women groups or communities, which are letting those women know that they would not feel alone for fighting with violence.

In conclusion, this critical essay is based on Farkhanda Younis’ story to analyze what results would come out by domestic violence and why female as a major target in domestic violence. Besides, in this essay also introduced methods of communication and education for men, women and teenage boys to prevent and reduce violence against women. As we know, prevent and reduce violence against women is a long-term fighting job that we still need to try to insist on interacting between local communities and families to contribute this program. Meanwhile, we need to keep a positive attitude to face any problem, even include violence.
