On February 29th of this year I went on an unforgettable adventure to Los Angles, California. It was a new experience for me because I have not been to the heart of L.A before, let alone anywhere that far with just me and my friends. The only other time I was ever close to getting an experience as such was with my basketball team when we travelled, but even that was supervised by the coach. This was an all-out trip, starting from just the way we chose to get there.
I had a weekend off and the weather was nice, so I thought it be a great opportunity to complete an adventure for this class. So about several hours before departure I asked if my friends wanted to come and they were more than happy to come along. We bought Amtrak tickets and were set way to L.A. I have got to admit that I was excited but a bit nervous because I have never been on a train. You always hear stories about how “sketchy” trains are, but this train is as I found was an exception to that. It was nice comfortable experience because you eat and there is a lot more wiggle room as opposed to a plane. Being that we did not drive there we do not have a car to travel around, so what was the next best thing, Uber.

As we were debating whether or not use Uber, we were greeted by a taxi driver who insisted on giving us a ride as he was reaching for our bags. Seeing that we would keep debating we just went with the flow and took the ride, and it was some ride. This cab driver was driving as if he was racing a Bugatti and nearly crashed several times, and on top of that he was charging an outrageous price. Our hotel was maybe 5 miles from the station, but somehow the drive costed $68 and that without the
...s the car rental prices, Amtrak needs to continue to work with rental car and booking services to make it easy, affordable and favorable experience for the riders; have strong partnerships with union, health care provider etc. Increase in airline ticket prices provides Amtrak a competitive edge, but it needs to elevate its position as a “ America’s premium travel or Expert travel” option where customers’ are willing to pay a higher ticket price leading to generate higher net revenues.
In 2009, my parents and I decided to travel to San Antonio, Texas for vacation. My parents and I have traveled there before, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back. With many places to see and do; my parents thought that we should go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It was at this theme park, where something happened that I would never forget.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a giant cruise ship in front of my eyes.It took two whole days but we finally reached Florida where we went Rock Gliding. It’s where you have to get past a giant, rocky maze. The winner gets to cans of ice cream.Though my sister won,we all shared the ice cream.Next stop, the Bahamas!!!In the bahamas we went parasailing up 700 ft above water level,it was so much fun.The boat driver even let us touch the smooth, light blue water with our feet. Finally, we ended with a relaxing dolphin swim on the soft, delicate beach of Jamaica.
I took a trip to Colorado In July of 2015 it was the best week of my life. The best part of that week was the day that I got to spend in rocky mountain national park. It was a great experience with beautiful scenery and wildlife everywhere you looked. This trip changed everything I thought about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do when I am finished with my schooling.
We started our travels down in Columbus Ohio. The week leading up to the big move we spent at Deer Creek State park, for a family reunion, where my dad and step mom, had the chance to see everyone again, before the journey began. Over all we had taken nine days to get to our destination. First stop, Saint Louis, Missouri, we stopped to see the Gateway Arch. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so of course I was pretty amazed. The first few days were our longest driving days, but sense we broke up the days, our longest day was eight hours. The second day was the worst, Oklahoma is so boring to drive through, and nothing but flat crop farms, and wind turbines everywhere you look. We drove till we got about seventy five miles from the boarder of New Mexico, And Oklahoma. We got up early and began a shorter dive to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we went to Petroglyph National Monument, yeah it was interesting, but after you see a few hundred, they all start to look the same. The next morning we took a beautiful hike and took many pictures to capture the moment. Other than getting there, my favorite part of the trip, was Arizona, where we stayed four days in Flagstaff, one day in Holbrook, and one day in Phoenix. I wouldn’t mind if I lived in Arizona, it’s a very beautiful state. My family and I stopped by the Petrified Forest National Park, and I
I had so many conspiracies of riding the bus, I thought perverted people ride buses and they were going to bother me, I thought it was going to be confusing because I have to ride two buses to get to Valencia which were identified with numbers. For instance, I ride bus 44 and get off and ride bus 37 the rest of the way. Not only was I opened to a more open view on people riding buses but I was no longer classifying what kind of people ride buses. I never thought I was going to ever ride the Lynx bus. But now I look at it as a school bus but not with kids but with grown people who are trying to get to where they are going because they simply just might not have enough money to buy a car at the time. Also I know how it feels to ride a lynx bus, to explain I would be riding in the car with my parents and see people getting on the lynx bus and be like I know what it’s like to ride that bus. So me looking at them made me realize when I grow up, I want a car and keep that car because I do not like riding the bus with a whole bunch of people. At the same time I thanked my parents for introducing me to riding the lynx bus just in case in the future if there ever comes a time and I say again if there ever comes a time I need to ride a bus because I can’t afford a car I wouldn’t be scared and would know how to ride the city bus to where ever I needed to
... to the ocean to relax, socialize, and enjoy food and drinks on me. At the end of the night, everyone I had brought together was very thankful that I organized the trip because we had the chance to enjoy everyone’s company given that we do not all get to do that very often.
One night several weeks ago, I was riding the 72X back to campus from downtown. It was a Saturday night around six o’clock in the evening, and as a result the bus was packed with people, young and old, of all races and dress. The commuter crowd in Seattle is extremely diverse; a collection of white collar business people, students, homeless people, and other various characters utilizing public transit. The bus-goers behaved typically of Seattle transit users – heads down, headphones in, eyes closed or glazed over from staring into the
My journey to Brazil it was just like a dream that come true, I remember when I decided to change myself but I couldn’t find what really would make me take the first step, so the journey to Brazil has done me a favor , it was the first step to what I really wanted to accomplish, I was shy and unsocial but in this journey I had changed ,I had started to talk with strangers and make friendships with everyone and that was inner challenge for me and I never
I took the bus from Fulpmes up to Innsbruck, and at this point I had enough knowledge of the bus lines to navigate to the airport. Even though my flight left early the next morning, I didn’t have enough money left to stay in the Fulpmes hotel an extra night, and I wouldn’t have been able to get to the Innsbruck airport in enough time to make my flight at 6:30 am. I got to the airport and checked my luggage. I realized that I didn’t have a good way of getting to the airport in the morning and explained my situation to an airport information desk worker. She said that unfortunately the terminal closed at midnight and that it reopened at 5:00, so I would have to find a hotel in the area. Thankfully, while preparing for the trip Christina Fitzpatrick had advised that I install the Trip Advisor app on my phone. Trip Advisor has a hotel booking function that allowed me to look up hotels in the area, find a room, and pay for it all at once. I was able to get a room in a hotel only 30 minutes away from the airport. I knew that this would be my best bet because I would have to walk from my hotel to the airport because it was so early. I arrived at the hotel only to find that the owner didn’t speak English; however, since I had already interacted with non- English speakers before, I used what German I knew to explain that I had booked a room online. Like most Austrian people I met, she was patient with my poor German and we were
My mom, dad, brother, sister, and I were getting prepared to head out. I was in my room packing. I couldn’t wait to get on the road, the trip was gonna be around 2000 miles. I was really eager to see the California part and see the cold Pacific
This 4th of July I went to L.A. with my roommate to visit his family. I had been promising myself that I would go to the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the last three times I was in L.A. and this time I was determined to go. So After I had seen the fireworks at the La Verne high school.
It was a tragic journey. With many dangerous challenges I had to go through. It was August 1 when i started my journey, I was sailing from portugal. It took many rough weeks to finally discover this new place, almost 12 weeks. The journey was all worth the struggle, because it was an “enchanting New world”( what is this from). This journey of mine was inspired by Christopher Columbus, he was the inspiration for our ship to keep going. This was my journey.
I was able to spend a lot of time with my family, our friends, and play all sorts of games. This experience made me start to like traveling. Every time I would get the chance to travel, I will take that chance. We were able to go to a theme park, eat many delicious foods, and play many video
My most memorable trip was the day I went to the Children 's Memorial Hospital to meet my baby brother. Meeting my brother was an indelible moment because I had never felt such happiness and love for someone. On our way there, I also got to create a bond with both my parents and learn how to be a better happier person. At the time I was sixteen years old and was going through a stage where I felt depressed and that’s why the day I arrived at the hospital to meet my brother I felt this warmth in my heart that made me feel happy again.
