What I hope to gain from living and working in the United States is a lot, I hope to be more open to the world culture and people, to be more global citizen than before, to challenge myself more and be developed but the most thing that I hope to gain is the feeling that I felt in Brazil. My journey to Brazil it was just like a dream that come true, I remember when I decided to change myself but I couldn’t find what really would make me take the first step, so the journey to Brazil has done me a favor , it was the first step to what I really wanted to accomplish, I was shy and unsocial but in this journey I had changed ,I had started to talk with strangers and make friendships with everyone and that was inner challenge for me and I never
give up in a challenge so I challenged myself to know everyone and make friendship with them and this what I called bonds and the bonds I created are indestructible. The feeling that I hope to gain through this exchange program is the challenging feeling that make me goes beyond my imagination to enable me to create a world only form me, that is full of challenges to develop me and but me in a journey to a bright future that I will achieve it by my hard work and willingness to never give up. I hope to gain a great amount of experience about a lot of different things such as: how to react with different people, how to work in small and big team, how to be an awesome leader that everyone looks up to him, how to push yourself to the limit and then cross that limit to be limitless.
As my father and I finally fit the statue of the little Virgin Mary in the back of the car, it was time to get on the road. I could already taste the guavas from my great grandfather’s ranch. Feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. The smell of my aunt’s cooking. Hearing the excitement of my great grandmother’s voice. I wanted to be there already, be in the beautiful country of Mexico. My thoughts wandered as we left my house. How much welcome, love, and the sadness of leaving was going to happen. It was too soon to find out.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
In conclusion, my recently experience was when my family and me decides to moved to the United States. It was a tremendous change moved to another country. Moving to another country is giving us an opportunity about different language, meet new people, better jobs and great education. This experience maybe was harmful and difficult for all the family, but if we moved for better life, it could be an excellent opportunity for our future. To sum up, now we enjoying living here, my parents have a good job and my brothers and me study at great school.
The important event that transformed my life is coming to the United States of America to get education and to study. When I first arrived in this country, I comprehended that an incredible change would happen in my life, both mentally and physically. After living more than one year in the United States, I definitely believe that moving to the United States is an advantageous change for me. This change offers me an opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle as well as a new way of thinking that is significant to me and the most importantly it provides me with a better education in a simple way.
Recently, there has been a concerted effort from the Brazilian government to project their country as a “serious” power on the international stage. After many years of what could be deem as a failure of realized potential, Brazil is finally beginning to understand its worth as a major contributor to world affairs. Given its strategic location as the second most important country on in the Western hemisphere, and arguably the most important country on the Southern hemisphere, Brazil is poised to become an international powerhouse, the like of which South America has never seen. To fully utilize the opportunities being presented to Brazil in the coming years it is imperative that the Dilma regime bolster its reputation through increased efforts of international cooperation with emerging world markets.
Europeans and people throughout the world came to America to evade religious oppression and begin anew with a culture that was like no other. In the nineteenth century, Ralph Waldo Emerson made a statement of how America was declaring cultural independence from their European ancestry. The United States became a melting pot of the world; blending people, language and heritage creating opportunity for even the the lowest and most hated ethnic groups. Slaves began to have their own unique culture and literature for the first time. America had it’s own literary movement sparking creativity that evolved into significant components of modern culture.
The Brazilian culture is one of the world’s most wide ranged and diverse. This is a result due to it being a melting pot of nationalities, as a result of centuries of European domination as well as slavery, which brought large groups of African migrants across Brazil’s borders to live in and influence the local cultures with their ancient customs and ideas. The European settlers also brought ideas, innovations and belief systems with them, molding the local societies remarkably. All of these varying influences have made the modern-day Brazilian culture is unique and very elaborate (Meyer, 2010).
Vacations aren't always perfect there is always something that goes wrong. At least in my experiences. A perfect vacation to me is when we are all together as a family, which honestly doesn't happen that much. Having a 20 year old brother an 18 year old in post secondary school can make things complicated. Or having a vacation with no,ILLNESS, which can be very, very hard to do!! And I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this on a vacation!
When I first moved to America I had many difficult, but positive life changing experiences. My parents, five sisters, four brothers, and I were all very nervous and excited to start a new life. I had many life changing experiences when it was my first time in an airport, starting school to learn a new language, and moving to Lincoln, Nebraska.
As a child I suffered an event that framed my life, a catastrophe that would change my life at least temporarily. This catastrophe changed things all around me, things in my family changed and things at home changed ever since that day. I remember we were all exited, we were going on a family vacation to different regions of Colombia.
My family isn’t as great as I thought it was. My father’s side of the family has some weird past. My future has changed because none of my older relatives got far in education. My brother was the first family member to go to college. It really opened my eyes and made me realize who I am.
I chose Henrique Oliveira as my artist to present because all of his artwork intrigued me from the moment I looked at them. I felt a connection with the work which I feel is one of Henrique’s goals for his work. I realized as I was looking at a piece there was always something that I had not seen before every time I would move my eyes due to so much detail. I had to invest my time in looking at it to attempt to catch it all. This effect along with being able to have guest engage with instillations has brought Oliveira major popularity. Oliveira works in three different mediums, which he displays on his website, in the forms of paintings, sculpture, and large instillations. Oliveira truly brings his creative touch to life with his art by creating images and 3-D work that is crazy to have ever been imagined or even thought to be possible to make; making him a true artist in my opinion.
Brazil is the largest country in South America and one of the most influential. The geography of Brazil is mostly flat to rolling lowlands in the northern areas along with plains, hills, mountains, and narrow coastal belt in the southern region (brazil.org.za, 2015). The area is rich in natural resources such as timber forests and mineral resources such as iron ore, diamonds, quartz and petroleum (Gigli, 2015). While Brazil’s economy has been commodity based in recent years technology investors have begun to establish business there a Brazil begins to invest more in technology and science (Lowman, 2014) .
We tell stories of our adventures for many reasons, but one of my favorite is to try to inspire others to try new things they would not have tried otherwise. I think one of the greatest I have is the first time I went skydiving. I woke up extra early the morning or March 21, 2016 in a frenzy of excitement for my first ever jump. I went through my typical morning routine and ate a healthy breakfast to stay fueled for the crazy day I had ahead. Fast forward a few hours later, and my family pulls up to the hanger right next to my best friend.
Many years ago when I was a freshman in high school, an event happened to me that changed my life for the better. My friend invited me to go hiking with him and his sister. He was going to go hiking in Yosemite. The following day I prepared myself mentally and physically in order to accomplish this hike.
