Since doing Field Experience I have learned a lot more material and new strategies to try out in my future field experiences and future classroom. From my teacher I have learned to explain everything clearly so students can understand the first time you explain it. Having an open classroom helps in seeing where every student is at all times, so you don’t have to worry about students hiding from you or hiding something. Having the school and classroom be colorful is a nice way to show students work and its something that students see right when they enter the school. When the teacher was teaching to the class that is it important that you try and call on every students so that they can feel involved in the lesson and engaged. I learned that …show more content…
SOLS are not a good depiction of students knowledge on the material or on teacher ability to teacher each student the way that they learn the best. When thinking about what can impact teaching what comes to mind is about parents. Know a days parents can put the measure or blame on the teachers for not preparing their child to have the best grades or acting as they should in the classroom. Now all parents are not like that some will listen to the teacher and follow any advice that they will get. What I realized in field experience is that teachers can’t always please or do what they parents want. For example my teacher had a student who missed a lot of days and only went one day a week. The parent wanted the teacher to have all the work he missed ready for him to take home. My teacher told her that she can not have all of the work reading by the end of the day and told her the policy that students have four days to get make up and have it turned in and he had passed the four day mark. That’s when I learned that even if the parents are demanding something from you to not let your guard down. Before I started taking field I did have my doubts in being a teacher. Field made it more real because I would be working with students and have a small glimpse in what I would be doing when I became a teacher. Plus it did not help when my mom was trying to make me which majors to something that I could earn more money doing. But to me I wasn’t doing it for the money, I was doing it because out of all the subjects that I took in high helping students is what made me feel good about myself and I was happy in
In general, the field experience assignment has been a learning and growing experience for me. While watching Ms. Hines deal with her class I’ve realized a few aptitudes I’ll be utilizing in the future. She has taught me how to manage a classroom, how to implement good behavior, and how to make a safe and comfortable classroom for the
Zoe is a very great attentive student. She is a student whoholds a lot of valuable pronciples from her Haitian-Cuabn culture. The monment she enters the building she greets people with respect. She always says good morning and refers to all staff and her peers by their name. Zoe always comes to school in a positive attitude. I have yet to see her upset which allows me to believe she is good in toning her emotions or personal life outside of school grounds. Outside of school she is always busy between homework, family and tutoring at the SCO Family Services program in Downtown, Brooklyn. By the end of her long day she is exhausted but yet a smile is always on her face giving no sinces of anger or worries.if I was to describe Zoe’s emotional tone or color it would be lavender. She is calm, soothing to me around but ye keps firm.she had a bright future a head of her. Between the classes I have observed her in she is always energetic, cheerful and strong minded. She is excited in theatre class showing off her acting skills and in Spanish class she is attentive when doing her Spanish class work.
As a young lady I have decided to become an early childhood education teacher. Throughout my high school years many of my friends have been thrilled to study a higher education level in college. The majority believe that being a teacher is not what I should do for the rest of my life because the income is not as immense as other careers. Many suppose that this job is simple, but in reality his job re...
My main field experience this semester was in Ms. Schreyer's third grade math class at Trinity South. I was in the classroom on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 12:00 and Thursdays from 10:30 to 2:00. When in Ms. Schreyer's class, I observed two different groups of students because of the way the class rotations work. The first group that I observed is Ms. Schreyer's homeroom. There are 17 students in her homeroom class, and four of them have IEPs for either learning support or emotional support. On Tuesdays I arrived as the students arrived, so I was able to see the morning routine. The students bring their materials to the classroom, go to breakfast, and, upon returning from breakfast, complete a bell ringer activity. The bell ringers alternate between math,
My observation started at John elementary in Southlake, I was appreciative enough to observer my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Zock I loved being able to view the classroom in a different perspective. Once I was finish observing Mrs. Zock, I went over to her “switch’’ teacher classroom where I observed Mrs. Cheek. After I was done their I made my way over to Dawson Middle school where I observed Mrs. Metcalf a 8th grade science teacher in her class room was an special education teacher to help out student in that period. Once I was done I went to Mr. Sutton room, who was a Social Student teacher for 8th grade. Then I finished my day with Miss. Bankhead, who was a special education teacher for the student that where considered special needs.
Fieldwork Experience and Comparison with Examples As noted in the introduction, being a Lieutenant with 9+ years of supervisory experience and over 18 years as a police officer, I have been exposed to many different types of supervisors and administrators as well as have adapted and changed my own personal style to match the needs of our department and the audience of officers that I have supervised. It is almost an art form to know your people, understand their needs, and get them to perform to the best of their ability in order to serve the needs of your administration and the community as a whole. Throughout my career I have worked for some of the best, most inspirational people and have worked for some of the worst. I have
Secondly, students will develop mistrust between the teacher and themselves. They will doubt the teacher’s thoughts and commands, creating a space of distress and distrust. Things will not be able to get done in class. Thirdly, the students will establish resistance among peers and other teachers. The students will oppose, defy, and refuse to listen to the teacher.
Initial Observations I approached the beaten path as I made my way I noted all of the different stones. They all appeared to be sort of pushed to the side to make way for some travelers. After approximately twenty-five more yards of walking and making my way past all the trees, the realization had struck me where they were going. Perfectly placed in the center of this oval yard was a medium sized superstructure.
To begin out of the countless professions one has to chose from in the world today I have chosen to become a teacher. I have chosen to become a teacher because I myself am a product of some whom I consider to be the best teachers in the world. As a child in North Carolina I was inspired by a wonderful woman named Mrs. Hollyfield. Mrs. Hollyfield taught me that no star was too far out of reach, if I put my mind to accomplishing my goal I could make it. Mrs. Hollyfield inspired me to be the best I could be at anything I wanted to be. As I have grown I have had other important teachers, some whom I am surrounded by daily whom inspire me to set out to accomplish my dreams. These wonderful inspiring people in my life have led me to the decision of becoming a teacher.
Introduction Throughout my essay I plan to explain the location of my field experience and how it relates to education phycology. I learned and witness many new things in education as I was able to volunteer my time in going to World Language Academy. While achieving my 20 hours of experience I was in awe of the students and teachers are this school and how they taught, disciplined, and how they created a fun and enjoyable environment for the students. Field Experience Site: World Language Academy My choice for my field experience was World Language Academy.
I was never going to be a teacher. My parents would tell you otherwise. As a child, I would spend my time playing school. I would write on my chalk board, create worksheets and homework assignments and take attendance. I would make my bedroom a replica of my safe haven. I guess I was destined to find my way into a classroom. I had also always loved to write, but I wanted to find a way to make money easily in the field so I thought journalism was the way to go. After the first semester of hardcore journalism classes, I concluded that the fast pace stressed me out too much. I worked with a career counselor to narrow down alternate fields of interest and all signs pointed to education. I took a generic introduction to education course and knew immediately that I had really come home in all senses of the
I have not always wanted to be a teacher. I always knew that I wanted to work with children in some way, but I was pretty sure that teaching was not for me. I was well on my way in my junior year of college working toward a biology degree so that I could become a pediatric physician’s assistant. I still cannot explain what happened, but one week I was a biology major, and the next I knew that I have always been meant to teach children. I suppose I just took the longer route to get there than most people do. The two main reasons that I have chosen to become a teacher is that I believe that teaching is extremely personally rewarding in many ways and the fact that I can actively make a difference in someone’s life.
Although this has been shortly covered in a previous essay, I thought it necessary to explain this experience further: my time as a research assistant at Clemson’s DICE (Data Intensive Computing Environments) lab. This experience has been one of the biggest in my life and quite possibly the one singular experience that concretes my decision to go into computers. Starting in April of 2016 with an offhand question about if I wanted to work on something with my stepdad on computers during the summer, I practically jumped at the chance. After the end of the school year, things began to pick up. I was invited to the lab that my stepdad works in (DICE Lab) to work with him on this project, which was a great honor in and of itself.
In education 2130, we are ask to volunteer our time and do field experience that in return would give back to the community. I choose to do my field experience at Lula Elementary School in Hall County. During my time there I got to observe and watch teachers teach, how they handle children’s behavior and also their classroom management. In the paper I am going to discuss my field experience and what I learned in my time spent in a classroom. I am also going to try and make connections to educational psychology and what I learned in my education class. Also I am going to reflect on my emotional and professional reactions.
Coming into the teaching profession not knowing a lot, I was able to use previous experience from previous teachers to understand how important it is to understand whether or not students really understand the subject being taught. Having a passion to teacher also improves how much work teachers have to put into to make sure students understand. Growing up, I had the opportunity to experience what it was like to have a teacher was passionate about mathematics. This particular opportunity showed me how much effect he was able to put on his students performance, but most importantly how much effort he had to put into things to see a change in his students work.
