Plot Summary and Review According to IMBD, a credited informational movie and television website, “Alpha House is a college comedy film directed by Jacob Cooney and produced by David Rimawi on March 11, 2014”. The basic plot consisted of constant sexual content. Two freshmen joined a fraternity for their hopes for the experience of their lifetime. A sorority and their fraternity, the alphas, being forced into sharing a house due to lack of sorority houses. The fraternity and sorority have conflict, which lead to a fraternity and sorority consistently tried to force each other out. The terrible storyline and unrealistic portrayal of college give the name of college and college movies a bad name. The Fraternity From the moment that I pressed play, I was bombarded with sex and nudity. Alpha House’s depiction of a fraternity house was a pig sty filled with college students who throw chaotic parties. To pledge in, they would have to do unreasonable actions to join, such as be kidnapped then run around completely naked. The parties they threw were twistedly clichéd with booze and naked women. Therefore, I cannot accurately describe the experience as part of a fraternity, but I have read actual testaments of fraternities, and I have heard about life in a fraternity at Sacramento State. From what I have learned, fraternities are a group of students, who pay money, to be part of group to socialize. I have read that many fraternities are dependent on the type of fraternity and school you go to, many fraternities do have parties, not like Alpha House, where members talk with other members and women. There may be drinking, but not all-out arrogance. One benefit I have heard that fraternities do have is the ability to learn to socialize and meet new people.
