Every Parent believe that child care should be affordable, accessible, and high quality. High child care cost effects families both personally and economically. A continuing increase in childcare cost makes it difficult for many parents to find affordable childcare causing them to cut their hours at work, work more hours, or quit their jobs and become stay at home parents.
Child care cost should be affordable however, in the state of California annual child care center cost for infants is 13,327 and preschool is 9,106. Some child care cost exceeds the housing cost for many families. Most child care center have specific hours of operation, causing parent to have multiple child care or seek other care options. According to child care aware one- fifth of parents with children under the age of 13 work nonstandard hours schedules, with more business operating twenty-four hours a day. In jobs today work scheduled hours some may start before child care programs open, or end after the program close.
Child care Assistance is available to low income families, to qualify you must be working or in school. Once income reached a certain level you are removed from the program and no longer eligible the need for more child care facilities. When child care is unaffordable it impacts the business, they suffer when child care is not available for working parents.
