Research Paper Abbott is a very successfully run company. Many of their products, including Gogurt, have had very high revenue streams. Like many successful companies, Abbott has a very well written code of conduct. This is where the company puts their core values or how they want their company run. The first thing that Abbott says is that they value honesty, fairness, and integrity. Many companies priorities honesty over everything else. Honesty is so important because if a company is not honest with themselves, they will not be successful. For example, Wells Fargo employees lied when they created fake accounts to try to boost their commission. As a result, multiple people got fired because of it. Fairness is also something that
many companies value. Abbott believes that treating everyone fairly and not treating anyone unfairly. Integrity is also a really important thing at Abbott. Being professionally responsible and treating everyone with respect is something that Abbott continues to stress. Another core value is the way that they treat their customers. They believe that the way they treat their customers is the most important thing that they have to do on a daily basis. Keeping their customers’ health and lives is the most crucial thing they do. The last core value that they do is to make sure that they have proper decision making techniques. They know that every single decision they make will affect the rest of the industry in one way or another. They have to make sure that they handle all of their decisions really well because if they mess up, it could affect multiple people. These are the core values that Abbot lives by every single day. Abbott has done many different thing to positively affect the communities that they are in. One of the things that they have done is to install global citizenship program. The biggest thing is that the believe in the potential in everyone. That is why they try to do everything to make sure that they support everyone. Another thing that they have done is to to make sure that their work does not affect the environment in a negative way. They have recently started an environmental program, which includes reducing energy costs, waste reduction, and recycling. Through this program, they are helping the community by keeping the environment safe.

The messaging in both the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and Canada’s Health Informatics Association (COACH) Code of Ethics are very similar. They both discuss prioritizing privacy and security, set an expectation of maintaining a professional and collegial work ethic, encourage the continuing of education and building of one's knowledge base and both refer to a focus on the awareness of future developments/advancements within the industry. My initial preference was the CHIMA Code of Ethics as I preferred the phrasing and third person approach, however, upon further review I noticed that CHIMA’s used the word ‘strive’ instead of COACH’s approach of ‘I will’. This to me seems to have less impact then the COACH counterpart.

The main points of provision five of the ANA code of ethics are as follows: section 5.1, which is moral self-respect, suggests that nurses must care for themselves as much as they care for their patients. Section 5.2, which is professional growth and maintenance of competence, suggests that nurses must continue to self and peer evaluate themselves throughout their careers.
