Human rights are rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world but human issue arises a lot of the time in businesses where they manufacture their goods in poorer countries and this is mainly done for cheap labour so that costs can be kept down. Primark address this issue by trading ethically, they have a team that keeps a close eye on the factories to support and provide training for management to help solve any issues and to make sure they keep to the laws. A Code of Conduct is also put into place when Primark deals with suppliers and when issues are identifies they are closely monitored and assistance is given through audits and interventions with their partners.

A team of graduates from the University of Dhaka was hired to help guide each participant through their full day at the Mela. This helped to put families at ease, made sure they were looked after and helped them get the most out of each session.
Ethical Audit Programme
The issue of worker safety has always been a priority for Primark and forms an important part of our Ethical Audit Programme. In some countries where awareness of workplace safety (particularly fire safety) is limited, our local teams provide training and awareness programmes for factory managers and workers.
In Bangladesh, we work with industry experts, other retailers, and international organisations to drive improvements on the structural safety of the factories that supply our product with international safety standards as our benchmark.
