I took AP Statistics my junior year of high school and I was the only junior in a senior class. At first, I was really shy because I did not know anyone in the class, but after a few weeks, I had made new friends and was enjoying everyone's company. Usually, I am used to excelling in math with minimal effort, it simply came naturally, however anyone who has taken statistics knows it is not like other math class. It was extremely difficult in the beginning and was trying as best I could to understand what we were learning, but it was like nothing I had done before, however, it was the teachers first time teaching AP Statistics so, she was trying to figure things out just like the rest of us in the class. On open house night, my mother and I
went to pick up my progress reports for all my classes and unfortunately, I was failing Statistics. I was extremely upset because I had never struggled in a math class before and I definitely had never been failing one.
Stratford Caldecott’s “Remembering: Grammar-Mythos-Imagining the Real” is from his book Beauty in the Word, published in 2012. In this chapter, he argues that naming, as the beginning of grammar, is an integral part of our humanity. He goes on to connect grammar to the arts of remembering, tradition, and storytelling, as well as commenting on the danger of becoming too reliant on technology. Caldecott believes that grammar, and thereby Remembering, brings us into a greater community of human thought which transcends time; as a result, ‘Grammar’ is “the remembrance of Being” (Caldecott 59). This, he argues, is why it is so important to teach grammar; losing the art of grammar would mean losing our very humanity.
The assignment was an English paper, that she had no idea how to this paper. Like most of us do, she freaked out. She called her mother, and her mother basically said that she was screwed. Most parents when we tell them about our grades, or anything worrying us can give us advice or help but Jennie was not so lucky. She freaked out because in reality, who 's actually prepared for their first college paper? No freshman is actually prepared for such an assignment. I wasn 't preprared either. She says “I called my mom and in tears told her that I had to come home, that I 'd made a terrible mistake” (Crucet 3). Crucet is obviously facing fear here. She was facing fear because for once, maybe she actually did not know what to do. As a freshman, we go into college preparing to do as well as we did in high school. Jennie quickly realized college is a completely new environment for her and I feel like her fear is quite normal for any freshman college

Steinbeck was an influential author throughout the 20th century with pieces in many genres. On the flip side is Martin Luther King, Jr., a civil rights leader in the fight against racial discrimination. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the style of these two authors, it is necessary to compare them on the bases of repetition, tone, and purpose.
I never felt that my intelligence was tested in school until I was in the tenth grade. Throughout my schooling I had coasted by receiving “A’s” and “B’s”, yet never standing out amongst my peers. I was never challenged by anything educational related. In my sophomore year of high school I decided to take AP World History. It was set to be my first AP course I had ever taken. I chose the course like a sheep following the herd that was my intelligent peers. My time in the class was very turbulent. Through ups and downs I was able to reflect and gained knowledge about my own character and education.
During my early education, meaning elementary school and middle school, I was a very average student. I gave an average amount of effort to my grades, and I received above average results. This did not bother me, until the end of my 8th-grade year. At this point in the year, I was filling out what classes I desired to take the following year, my freshman year. I realized that from this point forward, I had to take my education much more serious, in order to get accepted to whichever college I desired. therefore, when planning my classes, I decided to challenge myself more than I ever have in the past, and take multiple honors courses. I assumed because of my grades, that I had what it took to be an honors-level student, but I was very wrong. One teacher, Mrs. Johnson, made me realize the kind of effort, time and energy needed to be devoted to my education.

College readiness is the main focus point for high school students. Becoming that person that is able to achieve the highest potential in a certain area and obtain a degree is what each student aims for. However, for all that to occur one should be able to have the opportunities to help him or her reach the goals that have been set. The lack of AP classes that our school does not offer interferes with that. Our school offers eleven out of the forty AP classes that are available. In addition, some of the AP classes do not end up running because of the school policy of having a certain amount of students placed in it. The importance of AP classes is increasing when one fills out an application for his or her desired university. Having AP classes listed down on an application for a university enhances a student 's application. Colleges want to see that you have challenged yourself to the best of your ability, and that you were able to handle the college level coursework (hubpages).
Using a sample design also decreased the probability of the Hawthorne or Screw-you effect as each individual was unaware of the other condition. Participants were all 11th graders at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt in Lima Peru, between the ages of 16 and 17, in a Spanish class where there was a total of 19 people. There were 16 participants overall and 8 in each condition, with 4 boys and 4 girls to avoid gender bias.
When I was a freshmen in high school I had to take physics. I didn’t really take this class serious. I wasn’t doing my homework and kept getting distracted by other things in the class room so I ended up failing the class. When I spoke to my guidance counselor about it she told me I didn’t have to repeat the class. By the time I became a senior in high school they told me I needed the class to graduate. I felt a little embarrassed because I had to retake the class with freshmen. I was able to pass the class this time because I was more focus and I needed it to graduate.
Starting a paper always seems to be the most difficult thing a college student will ever encounter. At least it was in my case throughout this entire course. Writing papers is something that has always come easy to me during school. Even though writing them is easy does not make it easier to do. Procrastination has been enemy number one since the first day of class. If it is a small assignment like the garbage paper then I am usually fine, but when it comes to larger papers I always put them off until the last minute. Many students hold a part-time job while in college. I had a part-time job at the beginning of school which then led to me getting a full-time job and working almost every day. That was probably the worst mistake I have ever
As I gradually make my way through this semester, I have come to realize that I am called to go into Psychology. I love watching people and trying to figure out why they act the way that they do. I, also, love knowing that I have finally figured out what careers I want to pursue. I want to become either a clinical or counseling psychologist, which both have the same requirements for everything – majors , classes, ect. So, I do not have to decide right off the bat on which career I want to pursue. Since I am planning on majoring in Psychology, I decide to do some research on my own, as well as go to a major’s fair hosted at the IU Southeast campus.
I felt a shock go through my body as I numbed up. “Wh wha what did she want?” My math teacher Mrs. Armstrong was worried about me and the fact that I do all the work in class and homework and when it comes time to take a test I fail. My teacher was willing to let me retake my test.
