I would like to attend a school with a good chemistry and engineering program. The three universities I am considering are MIT. Caltech, Duke. They have some of the best chemistry, engineering programs in the US and around the world. All of these colleges are very selective and require high grades in math and science as well as interesting extracurricular activities.
My first choice was MIT because all around were awarded the best chemistry and engineering school all around and ranked number one in the US in many categories. MIT is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. MIT has a very low admissions rate of <10% yearly making it very selective , applicants usually have a GPA of 4.0, SAT of 2100+ and an ACT above 30, but even if your grades are …show more content…

MIT has very small but in depth classes about 43% of classes are 2-9 students, but some can be 100+ students. Those were some of the buildings offered to students. Caltech also offers stem robotic competitions. As well as a range of sports, Caltech has a large athletic events center a track and field center as well as workout and weight rooms.
Caltech has an overall acceptance rate of 10.6% which means it is highly competitive the average SAT, ACT, and GPA are 2250, 34 and 4. Caltech since it is very competitive possesses a very high freshman retention rate of 96%. Class size at Caltech is relatively small with about 10-19 students per class. Caltech is very small with only about 2,200 students in all and an incoming freshman class of 226.
Caltech offers mostly science and engineering related degrees the most popular degrees right now are in computer and information sciences, physics and biology and biological sciences. In additions to its majors in chemistry and other sciences, Caltech also offers 40 undergraduate degrees. In all it is a prestigious school I would be happy to attend with many great opportunities for students such as top notch facilities and hands on focused
