I would like to attend a school with a good chemistry and engineering program. The three universities I am considering are MIT. Caltech, Duke. They have some of the best chemistry, engineering programs in the US and around the world. All of these colleges are very selective and require high grades in math and science as well as interesting extracurricular activities.
My first choice was MIT because all around were awarded the best chemistry and engineering school all around and ranked number one in the US in many categories. MIT has very small but in depth classes about 43% of classes are 2-9 students, but some can be 100+ students. MIT also offers a wide range of internship opportunities that range from government to industry to nonprofit. The motto of the school is mens et manus which means mind and hand since the founders valued hands on education. Caltech since it is very competitive possesses a very high freshman retention rate of 96%. Class size at Caltech is relatively small with about 10-19 students per class. Caltech is very small with only about 2,200 students in all and an incoming freshman class of 226.
Caltech offers mostly science and engineering related degrees the most popular degrees right now are in computer and information sciences, physics and biology and biological sciences. I always wanted to attend to an important college. To me, that meant that the smartest people has to be there and one that had good reputation. After research and research I understood that my life have changed since I got to the United States. As an international student my opportunities were less, since I do not qualify for financial aid. My choices were less, but i realized that that does not stop me in going to college and prepare myself to be someone in life. I do not need to be at the most important college to prove myself how worth it I am. A two-year community college would let me prepare myself for much less cost and with great opportunities. Glendale Community College a small college would be the best place for me as a student. It is a place where I can get more attention for the teachers and I could pursue my career in medicine.

For me personally, the college of my dreams is Louisiana State University. The top three majors at Louisiana State University are Biology, Biomedical engineering, and Business. These 3 colleges are amazing but there is one that matches with my ideal college the best, the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan compares very well next to my ideal college. It has a great pre-med program, it is the cheapest of all of the three, has great sports, and offers many financial aid programs. The University has a large campus and a medium size student body. I would love to go to a school with a math, science, and technology focus because I have always been better at math, science, and technology, and a school with this kind of focus would be able to provide me the best. Most other schools would not be able to compensate my math level, and not have the proper facilities to assist in my many experiments. Also, if I get into such a school, I am certainly going.
The first step, in deciding my degree, was determining which degree I would pursue. As a way to determine my degree, I took the SAT, which informed me of my aptitudes. I learned that I had a very high understanding of mathematics and critical reading. After figuring out my skills, I began researching degrees that were complimented by my talents. The degree that best fit my skills and the high income that I wished to obtain was chemical engineering. Next, I researched the universities with the best engineering departments. Resultantly, I narrowed down the colleges in which I was going to apply to. My top three choices were Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
