In Jonathan Swift’s satire, “A Modest Proposal”, Swift writes about the starving people of Ireland in the early 1700’s. He makes a wild and absurd proposal to help remedy the problems of overpopulation and poverty. Swift wants to make a political statement by using the “children” as satire to grasp the attention of the audience - the English people, the Irish politicians and the rich – and make them aware of the political, moral, and social problems. In “A Modest Proposal”, Swift’s arguments are presented effectively by using pathos (emotional appeal), ethos (ethics and values), and logos (logic reasoning and facts).

A truly successful proposal merges high-quality craftsmanship with powerful architectural concepts that fully reflects the aspirations of the client, whilst respecting the wider context of the society and environment, instead of overshadowing them with the architect’s ego. Foundations leading to such a project should be laid down from the very first meetings with the client, and built upon the architect’s ability to break any self-imposed stylistic boundaries or similar dogmas. Only when the mind is clear can the architect focus on the essential art of listening and carefully reflecting on the client’s requirements in the form of a precise brief. Any such discussion should be led by an architect - bearing in mind that clients rarely understand
Each time I receive a request to write a letter of recommendation for the admission committees, I challenge the students to explain how this step in their educational endeavor is going to benefit them and what they’ve got to contribute to the program. Instances are rare where I received a satisfying answer. Sometimes the students try to persuade me with their half-baked answers. Occasionally, the students delve into the question; question his or her conscience, and returns with a really good insight.
Being the top student in my secondary school (with 85.5%), I got admitted into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering at MIT, Ujjain. My curriculum enhanced my knowledge in Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processing, and Analytical and Industrial Instrumentation. Having a strong zeal towards Information System and Computer Programming, I have also learned different languages like C, C++, SQL and PL/SQL.
An admission into this highly ranked college under Anna University that offered subjects like Fluid mechanics and machinery, Aero engineering thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Aircraft systems and instrumentation, Aircraft Structures, Flight Dynamics, Wind tunnel techniques, Avionics, vibrations and aero elasticity and computational fluid dynamics, etc., was the best thing that has happened to me. I want to continue acquiring this knowledge and experience in this highly specialized field, by enrolling for the Masters program in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto.
As I progressed through my course, I got introduced to various subjects like Work Systems Design and Engineering, Quality Engineering Management and so on. During my course, I found there is a lot more to learn and to know in these topics. The books I used always had a long list of foreign authors in the reference section which can be used to make complete detailed study of some topics. The world of Industrial Engineering has infinite scope and numerous opportunities for growth and advancement.
Another point, I opted for this university is that students from more than 70 countries come at this university in hopes of a bright future and fulfill their dream which is a very positive impact. I have traced many of its graduates working with top employers around the globe. Remaining three brothers are in Saudi Arabia at financially stable positions who will be able to provide any extra funds during the entire stay in Canada if needed. A degree in Business Administration opens a world of opportunities.
