Famous satirist, Jonathan Swift, in his essay, A Modest Proposal, talks about how to solve Ireland's overpopulation and severe poverty. Swift’s purpose in this essay is to convey how serious Ireland’s problem is and to convince the people of Ireland, both rich and poor, to make a change. Swift adopts a serious tone in order to make his ridiculous proposal seem “modest” when in fact it is ludicrous. This tone of his helps highlight just how severe Ireland's depression is.
Since the beginning of time humans have worn clothing that defines their era, race, and personality. From a caveman wearing his favorite mammoth skin to a 1980’s righteous teen wearing her all time favorite bright orange neon retro blazers. Heartbreakingly, at the school of Putnam City North High, fashion has shot down the drain as teens decide to get dress blind folded every morning. As I look around the halls of sweats and dirty over-sized t-shirts, I am bombarded with the embarrassment of having these “fashion senses” be the look of our generation. These undressed, tacky, lazy wear must come to an end before our children look back on the classes of the late 2000’s with expressions of disgust as they wonder what the heck we were thinking.
Heather Robinson March 11, 2014 Mrs. Lafferty AP Lang and Comp A Modest Proposal 1. Swift wants the reader to view his speaker as a general Irish man, not as himself. He wants the reader to describe the persona he adopts as one that everybody has, one that is not uncommon to the time. He also wants the readers to believe that he is a logical, level headed man who is capable of solving and discussing the problems of the day. This creates the beginning of his proposal to be all that more dramatic as we learn that he is absurd.
Originating from Oxford College in England, Jonathan Swift, in his article A Modest Proposal, tells of a solution to end all poverty and hunger in the country of Ireland. Swift's purpose is to present a solution that relieves the parents of burdensome children, adds income, and solves the current issues of the country. He adopts a serious tone in order to convince the audience of Irish folk to think about his "modest proposal".
Customer satisfaction is a fundamental marketing construct in the last decades. The concept was not popular in the past and not accepted as well because companies thought it was more important to gain new customers than retain the current customers. However, presently, companies have greater understanding of the significance of customer satisfaction and adopted it as a high priority operational goal. Measuring the level of customer satisfaction is very important for today’s businesses. Businesses can apply these measurements to improve their business results. Consumer satisfaction is a central concept in modern marketing practice. The marketing concept makes much of delivering satisfaction to the customers and obtaining profits in return (Swan and Combs, 2005).
A Modest Proposal takes place during a colonized Ireland in the 18th century. The author of this satire Jonathan Swift, informs the readers of the challenges that many women and children faced on a daily basis. They stood on the cold streets of Ireland day and night begging for scraps. Swift believed that it was absolutely preposterous that their English superiors were not decreasing Irish poverty at that time. According to his "modest proposal" Swift felt as though the impecunious Irish were a nuisance to the high-ranking Irish and English elite.

This will be capable of competing with the best institution libraries in the world, and it will improve the standard of education and even the physical beauty of the campus in general. This kind of modern library will no doubt arrive with the best of textbooks and other materials required by the students of the great Lonestar Montgomery. Also, engineers who are up to the task must be invited to take up this responsibility for the best performance. One of the ways of achieving results in this case is to hear from the students by the use of questionnaires or direct contact and detect the kind of structure and materials they really desire for the new library. The new facility should be designed such that it will be a cynosure of all eyes. The students should also be well educated on the usage of the new facility in order to enhance the maintenance. Odunayo revealed in his article that, “aside upgrading of the libraries, I would also recommend that government should organize important programs annually where the populace can be taught or trained on the proper usage of the library”. This supports the fact that education on the library usage is also of significant
The economic crisis in Ireland in 1970s was an overbearing issue for the Irish and became a topic of satire ridicule for writers. Specifically, Jonathan Swift demonstrates mockery in one of his written works, “A Modest Proposal.” The speaker proposes to shift the issues of over population and poverty to a business like mentality by paying women to have children and then after a year, gaining a profit by selling and eat their children. The speaker’s proposal to consume the children of Ireland demonstrates a satirical solution to the Irish’s economic problems since the speaker practices irony, paralipsis, and ridicule to his proposition to the people of Ireland.

Customer satisfaction measures the expectation of a customer relating to the product and services provided by the retail stores. Satisfied customers tend to be loyal to the organization and make more and more purchase from the same store, which in turn is beneficial for the organization. According to Hoyer and Maclnnis (2001) satisfaction can be compared with the feeling of acceptance, relief, pleasure and

However, iIn spite of the current pre-eminence of e-books, it may be argued that they are not likely to replace print books anytime soon or possibly at all. Both formats have their advantages and drawbacks, which makes for one of them difficult to replace the other. Moreover, they serve differents needs and purposes. E-books are famous for their portability. Hundreds of e-books can be stored on a single device. Thus e-books don’t take shelving space and are convenient to take on travel, while even a few paper books are bulky and quite heavy to carry around. Numerous e-books are in open access, while paper books are not routinely available free of charge. E-books may be acquired and accessed immediately online, a feature I enjoy especially and treasure most: many a time I was able to buy and read an e-book at home within minutes of learning of its existence. Needless to say, e-books are considerably easier to cite and quote than print books, since the copy-paste feature spares us the trouble of retyping the quoted text. Another important advantage of digital books is their specialized software, which makes reading much easier: search and reference tools, changeable font size and day/night mode, dictionaries. Last but not least, e-books conserv...
