A Letter to the Government of Bangladesh
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to let you no that these are my three ideas that we need
to work on. They are:
· Link up to Emergency flood warning system
· Build embankments along the river channel
· Provide emergency medical stores in each village
These are the three key points which I think their really important.
First of all lets start with Emergency flood warning system I think
that’s really important because we no that we can’t stop the flooding
from happening but we can be ready for the flood when it approaches.
Emergency flood warning system it will tell us when the flood is
coming so the village people can be ready. This will really help the
village people and the amount of people dieing will be decreased.
With the increase of population, industrial growth, more and more
settlements and development in flood plains, flood hazards in
Bangladesh have become ever-increasing natural disasters resulting in
causing the highest economic damage among all kinds of natural
disasters around the world. In order to formulate flood management and
control policies, a thorough understanding of flood problems and how
it can be solved is required. This can be done through data collection
and analysis along with flood impact assessment. This study attempted
to develop an integrated approach of a new model for warning of floods
rather than flood mapping for flood risk assessment in flood prone
countries for regular monitoring of damages.
My second point is about the embankments along the river channel. I
think this will really help the village people. The water will stop
coming to the village which means more people and crops can survive.
Earthen embankments are often used as flood control measures along the
major river banks. Floodplains and river banks are developed from
recent deposits consisting mostly silt and fine sand that are highly
susceptible to erosion. As a result, the main channel often shifts
towards the earthen embankment often resulting in its failure.
The source under debate consists of a section from a letter written by František Palacký in response to an invitation by the Vorparlament (pre parliament) to discuss the national constitution of assembly. The letter itself had been written on the 11th of April 1848, in the midst of the European revolutions.
...urrent businesses in place are not enough to put our city on the map, or to interest its youth. I urge our community to step forward, and our city officials to regard this with care. My proposal is best for the community as it does not require changes to current buildings, but instead encourages entirely new businesses to revive a wary group of consumers, and protect our youth from starting down a dangerous path. How else can we ever get the weatherman to list our city on the map?
Stories were being told, except we weren’t sure if they were true. Rumours were spreading about how the Taliban treated people, but time went by and nothing changed. When the world started to fall silent, Malala Yousafzai, with all her courage and strength, spoke up. She has suffered for doing that, but she doesn’t regret it. Every word she says is expressed with concern. She knows that even her small voice, can and has, changed the world. Malala Yousafzai is a young activist from Swat Valley, Pakistan. In my opinion she is one of the most influential people living and that’s why I’m going to talk about her struggle, her accomplishments and what she wants and will try to change until the day she dies.
This may be a grand idea that will not happen all over the country overnight, but we can start locally.
This article was written to convince those funding movements already in action to try something different. The author expresses an opinion that the efforts that are in process are not working. Gilligan is trying to persuade her audience to agree with her opinion and in addition, to act on it, though she does not present specific ways to resolve the issues, she presents her opinion, backed by facts, about what is causing the death of so many who are living in
My name is Angelito Cruz and I am writing to you to encourage you to pass a resolution granting the Jewish People land in the Middle East near our Holy City of Jerusalem.
I am sending my proposal draft. It is not near perfect, but I think, you can get an idea that what I am proposing.
nited Nations Operations in Somalia 1992-1995: A study of the failures of Western peacekeeping efforts
The United States can start by easing some restrictions in their counterterrorism policy. The humanitarian relief agencies are not handing over the money to the militants willingly but are forced to. They are handing the money over to reach people desperately in need of basic necessities. The ultimate goal is to reach the people who desperately need international aid. In certain cases, there should be an evaluation of what is the best course of action between the two difficult options. Giving money to the militants and getting aid to the people or not negotiating with the militants and watch the people suffer. I feel the United States has to look at the lesser of two evils. Understandably, the United States is concerned of designated funds getting into the hands of militants to fund and execute operations, however aid needs to get to the people who are suffering. The United States can take initiative and get a direct line of communication between the government of Somalia and the militants to come up with a common goal to assist the people in the war ravaged nation. I believe this can set the stage for future diplomatic meetings between Somalia and the United States. There could even be an option with direct talks with Al-Shabaab if diplomacy makes its way to the table.
The country of Somalia has a long and jaded history of instability dating all the way back to the mid 1800’s. There has never, in the existence of the country, been any viable form of government. There are many reasons for the United States to have a vested interest in this area of the world. Somalia has been and is currently known to be a hot bed for such terrorist organizations as Al-Shabaab and Al- Qaeda. Also, with the recent discovery of oil reserves in Somalia, stability in the region is of even greater importance.
Many countries around the world know about the numerous issues Africa has been dealing with for years. However, only a few countries know what specific problems the African people of Somalia live through every day. The problems that occur in Somalia not only affect how the citizens live, but their mental and physical appearances. Somalia is a country located on the east coast of Africa, opening them up to major issues with piracy. Piracy causes chaos to Somalia and prevents the country from focusing on more important matters. Worldwide political issues and governmental problems also affect how Somalia works and the citizens live. The weak government invites attacks from other African countries and leads to rash decisions when in moments of crisis. Somalia is faced with health issues, mostly due to lack of resources, which causes the deaths of millions every year. The major issues that affect Somalia are piracy, governmental problems, and widespread health issues.
