I had Just got done with lacrosse practice and about to walk down to the car when all of the sudden a pink fluffy polar bear flew down and grabbed me and threw me onto its back i was actually not scared i enjoyed this odd ride when all of the sudden i saw a shiny silver tiny… peanut! It smiled a weird peanut smile and jumped into my ear and wisped a date. 2024 all i did was nod my head and poof we turned the oddest yellow in the world! We vanished the last thing i remembered was a purple and green monkey staring back at me.
Blinking wonderly i woke up and was amazed at my dream when i looked up i saw a purple and green monkey i blinked again, I looked again and he was gone. It looked as though i was in the middle of msu campus except

more high tech all the buildings were glass and orange there were colors everywhere and instead of cars there were, pink fluffy polar bears with tiny shiny silver peanuts. I was definitely not in a dream but it felt like it. I was in 2024, and i was happy i was a sophomore at msu! I looked down at myself and realized i transformed into future me i looked around and saw that peanut i ran to is he told me to go to my dorm i didn't know were it was exactly but i just went along with it. My polar bear flew me there no problem. I ended up at Wilson Hall where i dormed with a girl named emma peng she was blonde with short hair or medium hair just down to her shoulders we both played on the varsity women's lacrosse team i was number 5 and she was number 8 i saw my jersey for the first time it was green and white and had a razor back but it had a score attached. We had a game later, it was now 6:15 the game didn't start till 8:00 we had time. Me and emma walked around for about a half hour it was now 6:45. ( I had gotten the hang of being on time since all you had to do to check the time was close your eyes and it showed in you the time in your eyelids,) Everything was almost exactly the same except the cars and your occasional flying cranberries and panthers. We Went to sugar bears,( which used to be called sugar berries.) We went through my phone, i had the new iphone 10. My new phone is awesome the same size as a 5 but with a laser keyboard. it turned into a computer it was mint green it's awesome. Emma understood time travel and she knew about it. because the people that cloned the sheep were figuring it out and had a plan to travel to 2025 that month. I was the first one to travel through. She told me that older me was living my life as me. She time traveled and it took me to 2024. We looked up my friends on my phone and found out that one of my friends had skipped 5 grades and two others quit and moved to california one of my other friends went to U of M im the only one from wacousta at MSU i had one friend that went to delta center that went to MSU and a few from dewitt too it was cool seeing the pictures of them now. It was time for our game we had to leave now. We got to the field and warmed up for about and hour.
After that we went over to our bench the bench we sat o was green and white these benches change color according to your team's color. There are 9 people on the field at once from each team 4 attack 4 defence and 3 middie we played U of M it wa fun we destroyed them 91 0 biggest game differential ever! The game is different but is still a lot the same like i told you we were dressed now and are allowed to hit people like in boys lacrosse we don't wear pads though just goggles are gloves are required now. No extending elbows or limbs still. I sent a girl to the hospital i broke her arm. I scored 15 goals and had an awesome time. The goal turns into a star after you score and a rainbow appears. After the game we signed papers and digraphs. After the game me and Emma were tired so we went back to the dorm, and ordered a pizza. The pizza man came and he wore this weird thing it was an apron but it had squirty bottles to clean it off. The pizza guy's truck was the one with the oven and cooler it looks awesome emma said that they have them everywhere. We ordered dr. pepper that came in a 4 liter it was cool we drank it all and then we went to bed watching a movie( it was a double throwback for back to the future). As i fell into a deep sleep i saw the monkey
again. I woke up to banging around inside what seemed to be a box. Bang! Boom! Chow! It was still i sat there for a while and then closed my eyes for what only seemed like 2 seconds i opened them up and there i was at practice as i looked at the sky to see anything really and i saw the pink polar bear and the peanuts flying away into a little stare. My mom hooked me back into reality i jumped into the car and sat down we had a lacrosse banquet to go to. I wonder the whole way there if it was real or not i went with real but never told anyone for they may think i was crazy. it was the coolest thing ever. One day not long ago my writing teacher told us we had to write about time travel. I had just the story.
Lacrosse has progressed over the years from when it started as a religious practice by the Native Americans to the Canadians to the east coast to all around the world. The equipment, shoes, rules, and fields have changed in many different ways. The different ways that people can set up their defense and their offense is so broad that it is hard to describe. The original team set up was when the Indians played over expanses of 500 yard up to a mile. Then William George Beers created a club called the Montreal Lacrosse Club in eighteen fifty-six. Then about a decade later William George Beers produced a whole set of rules that included reducing the number of players to ten adding hitting penalties while also introducing a rubber ball and a new innovative plastic design for the lacrosse stick.
Helmet or no helmet? This controversial issue for girls lacrosse has been growing stronger each year. If you have ever seen men's lacrosse their uniforms are almost identical to a football player. While women only wear goggles and a mouth guard. So why why is this such a controversial issue? Shouldn’t women want to wear helmets for protection? There is a lot of evidence to review on the topic. In the articles titled, “A Case Against Helmets in Lacrosse.” by Alan Schwarz, the non-fiction piece titled “Headgear Rule for Girls” by Bill Pennington, another article named, “Helmets In Lacrosse” by Krystina Lucid, and “How Women's Field Lacrosse Differs from Men's Field Lacrosse” by James Hinkson and Joe Lombardi. Girls lacrosse should not wear more head gear/ a helmet because if they are protected they feel they can play a more aggressive game, the rules in girls lacrosse do not allow any
The MLL stands for Major League Lacrosse. It’s what follows after college, same as the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. The difference between the MLL and those big professional sports is that MLL players average salary is between $10,000 and $30,000 (Forbes). The other salaries all are over one million dollars for the average (Forbes/Wikipeida). People of course will be more familiar with basketball, baseball, or football. Lacrosse though, should be praised as much as those sports. That’s because MLL players don’t practice as much as the other sports but still compete at a very high skill level, the players have a burning passion for the sport, and the players have to be able to create chemistry with their players in one practice.
Lacrosse is a fast-growing American high school sport and becoming very successful within the past few decades, so it’s important to analyze how lacrosse has gotten to where it is today and what impacted the spread. The research question is: How has lacrosse changed over the years, and what impacted the spread? Research shows that lacrosse is becoming more popular every year, and many more people are becoming aware of this sport so the history behind what is known as ‘America’s first sport’ should be known. According to the National Federation of State High School, between 2009 and 2013, participation between high school boys and girls has increased for a total of 34%. Today, over 1400 high schools in the US include
I closed my eyes and that for sure I was dead but when I opened them the warning lights were on and thens were fading in and out. I quickly went and started rebooting the systems till they were all done. I look up to see the animatronic in front of me looking through the glass and thought I was dead.I didn’t dare take the chance to put up the camera in case it took it as a chance to get me. Then all of a sudden 6 a.m struck and it started walking away. Then I left for
Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America, having been played by Native American tribes long before any European had even set foot on the continent. A century after European missionaries discovered the game played by Native Americans, they began to play it themselves, starting in the 18th century. From there, it evolved and grew in popularity from a very savage game that resembled war, into what it is today, a recreational sport played widely in America and other countries. As U.S. Lacrosse literature aptly puts it "Lacrosse is a game born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, adopted and raised by the Canadians, and later dominated by the Americans.”
All I remember was all the girls on my team screaming and running towards me. Luckily, I was at the right place at the right time and headed the ball into the net. I scored the winning goal and it felt amazing. We won the championship!
Lacrosse Shafts have evolved along with the game. Originally, players used sticks made of hickory wood that was heavy. But, industrialization has gotten us metal alloys, and even carbon fiber to use in the lacrosse shafts. These lightweight materials have had an enormous impact on the game to make it the game we know now. Let's see how it has impacted the game and what each new thing is capable of creating.
When the Seminole children had time they played otherwise they were either at school or helping around the chickees. Most Seminole children also went hunting and fishing with their fathers when they had time. One of the games the Seminoles played was stickball which is lacrosse in American culture. The Seminole women were farmers and they also did most of the childcare and cooking. Both genders took part in storytelling, artwork, music, and traditional
Soccer and lacrosse are obviously two different sports , but in a way they are both very similar to each other. Similarly, they both use a ball for their main part of the game. They use the ball to bring it down the field and a try to score on the opposing team. Another similarity is that they both have goalkeepers to help protect the ball from not going in on the team's side. They both stand in their goal box and they are able to bring it down field if they want. In addition, they use nets on the back of the goalkeepers with bars that show how big the goal is and so the ball doesn't fly out of the field when the team scores.Another example of a similarity between soccer and lacrosse is that they both involve a lot of running. For both sports midfield is the position where you have to run
Sprinting down the field, using the last burst of adrenaline. Only seven seconds left on the clock. The ball is launched from one net to another. Will they make it in time? They all sprint down the field. Desperate for an open pass, #6 cuts to the right and runs in for the shot. The ball slowly lands in the back of the stick and quickly makes it’s way out again, and into the goal. What sport did you first think of when you read this? You guessed it. Lacrosse. Lacrosse is a growing sport in the U.S. It has been played for hundreds and hundreds of years, and yet, it is still not an official sport, it’s a club. Lacrosse should be made into an official, school sponsored sport. If lacrosse became a school sponsored sport, it would decrease the cost to play so that it is less expensive and more people would then play because of the affordability, allow the sport to continue to rapidly grow without the difficulty
For eons, boys have been divided from girls. This timeless trend has continued to live on due to the stereotypes placed on the gender of people. Boys are preconceived as strong and athletic, whereas girls are preconceived as fragile and incapable of accomplishing feats of athleticism. Stereotypes, prejudice, and division such as the aforementioned, result in a great deal of sports having a counterpart specifically for women because many (often men) believe that only men could be able to contend in the original form of the sport. One such sport is lacrosse. Lacrosse is divided into boys’ lacrosse and girls’ lacrosse, both involve shooting a ball into the opponent's’ goal using a lacrosse stick. However, when comparing the two versions of lacrosse
Lacrosse is one of the oldest organized sports in North America. While at one time it was a field game or ritual played by First Nations, it became popular among non-Aboriginal peoples in the mid-1800s. When the National Lacrosse Association of Canada was formed in 1867, it was the Dominion of Canada’s first governing body of sport. Lacrosse was confirmed as Canada’s official summer sport in 1994. The Canadian national lacrosse teams (men and women) rank highly in the world standings, both in field and box lacrosse. Lacrosse is a team sport in which players pass, catch, and carry a rubber ball, using sticks with a netted pouch at one end. The object of lacrosse is to gather points by shooting the ball into the opposing team's
When thinking of my activities, the first thing that comes to mind is lacrosse. Lacrosse has been a huge part of my life since the moment I picked up a stick. Lacrosse caught my attention because it was a challenge to get better daily. Throughout my whole life, lacrosse was my main passion and made me strive to get better. My freshman year of high school, I was the only freshman named to the varsity roster. The following year, the leaders of the team all graduated, so I decided it was my turn to establish myself as a leader on the team. Junior year, I was named team captain, and lead the team back into the WPIAL playoffs for the first time since my freshman year. That season, I was the team leader in both goals and assists. Also, I received
Did you know that lacrosse was originally used to prepare men that are going to war, it is also the fastest growing game in the United States. Through the years lacrosse has become popular and safer in many countries across the world. (Origin & History; Templeton).
