I feel that it is something I am very talented in and that I will be very successful doing in a career. First of all, there are requirements I need to meet for becoming a graphic art designer, like any other career. While in high school, it is important for me to take basic art classes such as art history, 2D (2-Dimensional), digital design, and studio art. I would have to take one of them for at least a year. I have taken a year of 2D art when I was a freshman, technical design when I was a sophomore, and I am now currently taking digital design and 3D art honors. Other skills I should take into consideration are writing and economics, which both are beneficial for graphic designers as they help them cooperate more productively with project teams. I also realize that a portfolio of my artwork will be required when I get into desired colleges or universities for art design so I can unleash my artistic ability. An associate arts degree or even better, a bachelor’s degree is ideal for getting into any graphic design career, according to The Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are also qualities and skills I should have in order to get a better chance in pursuing this job such …show more content…
Graphic artists typically work in art studios, which make it much more convenient for them to put their time into their creations. It even means a better environment for artists when they do their artwork on drafting tables and with technology. The Bureau stated, “Although many graphic designers work independently, those who work for specialized graphic design firms often work as part of a design team.” This is true, because graphic artists certainly enjoy and need to have space. Also, graphic artists do need to work with colleagues, clients, or the art director when creating their projects. Pairing up or even getting into groups will definitely help them out with their ideas. However, some graphic artists are self-employed which means they could have the ability to work from home. Working from home can give you more space to put thought into your projects and time to craft your projects with less distraction. Lighting is also essential. Graphic artists must have high quality lighting to help them create their artwork and sketch out their ideas for their work. Overall, graphic designers need a lot of space to focus on their projects and brainstorm ideas; meanwhile, they need to engage with other co-workers, clients, or the art director for better ideas on what to do on their
Before finally deciding on my career path, I had a very hard time trying to choose which path I wanted to take. After considering what I truly enjoy doing and what skills I possess, I have decided that I wanted to become a graphic designer. I want to be a graphic designer, because I feel that I would have a chance to use all of the skills I possess and be happy while doing it. In order to become a graphic designer, there are certain educational requirements that must be met. There are also specific job requirements that I must accomplish. Although there are many requirements, the personal benefits I gain will make up for all of the hard work in the end.
My five year plan is to get a diploma in early childhood education and medical office administration. I would also like to get some sort of educational achievement in art that will allow me to make art for others. I have chosen this plan because it fits my personality. I enjoy and love being around kids, like the medical field, and love art. I could have a job in a pediatrician's office where I see young children on a daily basis and if a room needed to be painted I could do the painting. In order to achieve these goals I need to focus on what I can do now and take advantage of opportunities. I have been taking art classes ever since I started high school to meet my art goal. I am now a senior and I decided to take this summer online course, just in case I could not get into the early childhood education program offered at my school. I did not want to graduate high school without having any knowledge about early childhood education. I think this is a huge step in working towards getting my early childhood diploma. During the course of my high school career, I have also taken classes within the health science field and will be taking two classes required to get a diploma in medical office administration. As of right now I am not working but have tried applying for a job in a day
This last thought led me to seriously think about which area of design I should be researching for, and unless an opportunity arises for a graphic illustrator position soon after graduation, I foresee me doing freelance work. With this in mind I started looking into what being a freelancer entails, which led me to an article titled, ‘So, You Want a Creative Job?’ (Karjaluoto, 2012)
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field is where a student would start. There are prominent qualities that an employer should look for when considering hiring a designer; these qualities include analytical, artistic, communication, computer, creativity, and time management
When you love to do something, you want to do it every day, all the time, till you get sick of it. Even then that excitement and devotion to do it is still there. That is how I feel about art. I have a great passion for it. It is a form where I can express myself in a way words can’t.
I did not even give a second thought at turn it into a career, because I thought “oh artist don’t make a lot. What I didn’t realize is that if I could have followed my dream and put my all into making a successful career. Additionally, I lack the proper knowledge of the many different art-related careers I could or
In order to prepare for this career in my future I would need to attend a college involving designing, fashion designing, and a type of art. The education I would need would be a two year to four year college for fashion designing and a one year to three year college for interior designing. These careers take a bachelors degree in some place of art. In order to want to attend college first of all I would have to maintain an acceptable grade point average of what I would possibly assume of a 2.5 or higher depending on the location of the college as well as the skill learning level of the college.
My short term goal is to graduate from Academy of Art University as soon as possible. Afterwards I want to find a job in an established company so that I gain some experience. In my country, although animations has started been produced to entertain people, I do not think that the graphic, storyline, and other qualities meet the industry standard when compared internationally. So for my long term goal, I would want to build my own animation studio back in my country. I want to improve the overall quality so that animations in my country can go international.
Having enjoyed the academic study of both BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT and BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design, specifically the programming in C# and Python which I look forward to extending my knowledge of programming and the creative aspects of the Art course will allow me to pursue my interests in Computer Science/Software Development in greater depths. Within college I have received many opportunities to gain a lot of experience in different fields such as becoming a mentor for younger years (seven to eleven) that require assistance/guidance in their lessons which I have learned a great deal from, such as: being a role model, working with children, safeguarding, able to spot when children are struggling and general
Art is the subject I have grown up with and has become my passion from a young age. As I have gotten older my love for art has grown, as well as my skills. In second year I realised that it was something I wanted to pursue in the future, art is now the main component of my personality and my life. Art is something which captivates me because it is a way to express myself which is unique to me which is why I want to study Fine Art. The flexibility in the Fine Art course is an area which I have had an interest in because it has a flexible use of media, this appeals to me as it allows me to explore themes without having set boundaries whilst experimenting with different media and techniques that I am not yet confident with.
Personal statement I have always had a great interest in Art, this is why I contribute in many art related workshops and trips such as opening days, life drawing classes, sketchbook workshops, museum trips and exhibitions etc to enhance my knowledge thus improving my skills to be able to develop more captivating art work. I have always shown how passionate I am during Art classes and during my free time, I am a very hard working student that always pay 100% effort in all my work and would do anything to reach the deadline on time, even if it means devoting all my time to it. This reflects the commitment and the dedication I have towards Art. I have been travelling a lot since I was little, due to this, I was given a chance to explore many
The Creative Arts play a significant role in early childhood education as it provides children with a diverse range of skills to enhance their learning and development to meet the needs of succeeding in the 21st century. In the art community there is a lot of controversy in distinguishing what the difference between an artist and a designer. Designers are told they are not artist and they need to stop thinking they are artist. When dealing with art and design specific demographics and viewers interpret the messages of each subject in different ways. Art is said to be elucidated and design is said to be understood. Artists usually develop a work of art with the intention of bringing an emotion viewpoint, instinctive feeling, and or state of mind. When you look at an artist work it cannot be limited to just exhibiting one individual thought or just one individual meaning. That is a big difference when it comes to graphic design. Graphic design usually has a very specific goal and point to make. When dealing with graphic design there should not be any room or space for any mixed messages or multiple meanings. The audience of the design should immediately understand the design that the designer created. Art connects to people differently in so many ways. The only reason it connects to people in different ways is only because it is interpreted differently.
During my whole life and experience I have been interested in the Art, Creativity, and I have been traveling around Graphics Designing. When I go out to centres, supermarkets, the high streets around Kingston anywhere in London, Germany and other parts of Europe which I have seen. I have seen lots of Graphics designs in advertising, Billboards companies for example in electronical products or any type of product the graphics advertising companies running around the world, just because of that I was inspired in the graphics designing and I was influence by the subject.
Without a doubt, being a highly respected photographer would be my dream career. The type of job that wouldn 't feel like a job because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Growing up I always noticed how much longer I took to take a picture of someone than when they did the same for me. I soon realized that I actually had a passion for getting the right shot that I understood that not every pictures the same and that certain angles made others look better in places. The praise I received for taking a lot of these pictures motivated me. I liked that I hardly ever got told to take these pictures over and I loved that I was always the one chosen to take them time after time. Once I understood that I had this passion for photography I made sure a camera was the first thing on my Christmas list that year. I also knew that there was nothing but room for improvement, so i sought out private lessons which I worked and saved up for.
