Before finally deciding on my career path, I had a very hard time trying to choose which path I wanted to take. After considering what I truly enjoy doing and what skills I possess, I have decided that I wanted to become a graphic designer. I want to be a graphic designer, because I feel that I would have a chance to use all of the skills I possess and be happy while doing it. In order to become a graphic designer, there are certain educational requirements that must be met. There are also specific job requirements that I must accomplish. I believe that since I want to go into the advertising side of graphic design, I should work towards a minor in Studio Art. Along with a major in Graphic Design, a minor in Studio Art falls under the Bachelor of Fine Art degree. The Studio Art program is for students planning on pursuing a career in visual arts; it is more of a professionally-oriented program. Certain core courses are required in order to be accepted into this program: Introduction to Studio Art I, Introduction to Studio Art II, and Art History. Above all, acceptance into this program depends mainly on grade point average and seriousness of purpose. For instance, if I had an excessive amount of absences, I would not be admitted to the program. My present interest in art is more graphic/typography based, although I do enjoy all areas of art. I have been designing graphics on my computers from a young age and have work published in national magazines. Not all the graphical work I do is computer based, I enjoy using traditional mediums in a clean graphical way, as I find it more satisfying working on a larger scale and producing something more "real". My current course has helped me "branch out" more; I have experimented in many disciplines successfully producing paintings, pastels and drawings, which I had never really developed fully before.

When i was a young girl i was very shy and didn't like to be around a group of people, because i sometimes I get nervous. Now since i have entered high school it has grew out of me. I have been in Career Exploration that has helped me find out who i really am. I have realized that i am an extrovert because iam outgoing and I am a great teamworker. I also learned that I am very shy which meants I am an intorvert. Being enrolled in this class helped me see that I am missing out on getting to know myself more.
