Growing up is a natural part of life. We all go through experiences in our daily lives that may be insignificant, but others have an immense impact on our future. Therefore, it is essential to live life fully in every moment, as they may change your life before you even realize it. Indeed, having dreams and goals is what motivates people to get up every day ambitious to work towards their accomplishments. Still, the question is: how do people accomplish their dreams and goals? Not surprisingly, college is the perfect time to set these goals and dreams in motion. During college, students have the chance to discover now only what they want, but also who they are.
My college experience has led to the discovery of myself and thus, the discovery

However, even when I had my career goals clear, I did not realize I did not have my educational goals clear. Therefore, I researched about what it takes to become a Physician Assistant, and noticed how the path was alike that of Medical Doctors. PAs and MDs earn majors from the science field and after they graduate, attend PA/Medical school, respectively. It was perfect. I could still major in Psychology, but instead of becoming a psychologist, attend PA school to become a Physician Assistant. Finally, there was a plan. After earning my Associate of Arts at Miami Dade College, I plan to transfer to Florida International University and earn my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. After I graduate, I aspire to attend the University of Florida (my dream school) to earn a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. So far, I have successfully completed my freshman year in college, with lots of enthusiasm to continue my sophomore year this …show more content…
I realize all these changes and discoveries signify I am growing; academically, professionally and most importantly, personally. Besides achieving my academic goals, I aspire to accomplish other dreams in the course of my life. For instance, I aspire to travel extensively, exploring all the beauty of nature and people all around the world. Traveling will not only give me the chance to enrich my knowledge and conscience on different aspects of human nature (such as countries’ government styles, traditions, geography, and culture), but it will also give me a chance to unwind and enjoy the life I was given. Moreover, I do not wish to simply travel. I made a promise to myself I would make a difference in every place I visit. Although, I have not figured out exactly how I will have a positive influence in my traveling endeavors, certainly the answer will come to me soon. Perhaps it will be starting a literacy program of my own in third world countries, or providing necessities like food and water to low-income families, or evangelizing remote countries about the word of God. Whichever the means are, making a positive influence for people and experiencing the world to the fullest, are the ends of my
Standing at the starting line of the full marathon I felt anxious and nervous. Not only was I excited to accomplish this goal, but also I was nervous about the difficulty of this task. However, when I crossed the finish line and accomplished this goal, I realized that a new and possibly more difficult goal was about to start. This goal was not only to complete Physician Assistant School but it was to strive to excel in a career as a Physician Assistant in a rural primary care setting. Driven by my intrinsic personal traits of leadership, compassion, and commitment, I am motivated to achieve this goal of excelling in my career as a Physician Assistant.
I believe that people everywhere should always have access to adequate medical care. Where you live should not determine whether you live, and the PA profession was created to improve the availability of healthcare in rural and other underserved areas. As a PA, I would be eager to help people have not had access to the care they needed. I want to serve those that need medical attention but don’t have the means to obtain it—whether in rural Michigan, the inner-city of Atlanta, or the backwoods of Arkansas. Making great medical care accessible to all is crucial to improving public health, and it is a necessity across this country and the world. As a physician assistant,
I find myself privileged as I am the first generation from my family to complete Bachelor Degree. Therefore, "reaching perfection through adversity" is what inspired my journey of Physician Assistant studies. I am originally from small South-Asian country called Nepal, where I completed my High School education with science major. As a science student, I was always curious to know the cause, symptoms, prevention, and precaution of diseases. Unconsciously, I was trying to pursue medical profession. With a strong desire to help community and undeserved population, I got associated with organizations like: Red Cross and Rotary International during my High School education where I worked as a volunteer. These further strengthen my endeavor to pursue career in medical sector.
health care team who, with doctors, provide quality care to patients. In order to do that,
Becoming a Medical Assistant believe it or not is an awesome career. Being able to be on the inside and handling emergency hands on is what I will be experiencing. Medical Assistants overall have many job duties and I might add if you are a busy person and you have the urge to help others, then this job is for you. Overall, the objective is to point out the duties, various opportunities and what you will be able to accomplish in the role as a Medical Assistant.
My lifetime goal is helping others and I plan to use my career to fulfill it. The classes I’m taking right now and the ones I’m planning to take senior year are classes I believe will influence my decision in my college major/career as well as counting toward my GPA. This will help me get into schools who have medical programs that I’m considering. Also, taking AP classes can help me save money since I can earn college credit. I’m taking all AP classes, and the electives I’m taking have been classes that have helped me consider being in the medical field. I’ve found that over the years, science and math are what I’m doing better in versus history and english. I believe by being in the medical field, I can help others in the best way I can.
“Being a PA has allowed me to do everything I ever wanted to do in medicine.”
Students entering college for the first time become concerned with their college life. The students are on their own once they enter college. There are no parents or guardians telling them when to do homework, when to go to bed, or how to eat healthy. These students are now responsible for how they are going to succeed in school and meet their own needs. From the beginning, these students wonder what their experience is going to be like and are they going to handle the demands of college?
This statement goes to Zinsser's belief that college is a time for students to try new things, and learn things about themselves that would give them an idea of what they want for their future. The students who pre-select their goals end up living satisfactory, but unfulfilled lives. It is this fear that made William Zinsser write this article in hopes that readers will learn that true success sometimes results from taking chances, and giving up control.
College can be a scarce transition for individuals, especially for the ones who have lived at home their whole lives. While college is said to be one of the best experiences, there are negative factors that eventually add up. Students who live under their parents roofs or attend high school, usually have their day-to-days lives planned. A typical day in the life of a student may be going to school for eight hours, participating in an activity after school, coming home to a home-cooked meal, and going to bed. Where, college is the first year a student may experience more independence and a non-planned agenda. Most individuals know when going to college they’re going to miss the familiar feeling of their hometown, home-made meals, and their own
“Every man is born as many men, and dies as a single one.” This quote by German philosopher Martin Heidegger fits well with my decision to aspire to become a physician assistant. While I always wanted to help others, especially the disadvantaged of our society, I did not initially realize what outlet this longing would have. Ultimately, however, I found that the PA profession was the best avenue where I could unite this concern for others with my intellectual strengths and abilities.
All my life I have always wanted to be a nurse. Since I was younger I can recall playing with stethocopes. I have four siblings so my parents paying for my education has never been an option for me. That having said I became a Medical Assistant. Becoming a medical assistant has been a great blessing in my life. I have been able to work with patients, while going to school but I am ready to further my education. I want to be able to provide patients with medications, IV's, and many other skills that will put my full knowledge to use. I think that nursing is a great profession because it is a job that is in demand. Nurses can work anywhere ranging from clinics, hospitals, schools, and even jails. This means a lot because if anything occurs
That I would choose a career in the medical field has never been a question; I am innately nurturing and compassionate. Finding myself drawn specifically toward a career as a physician assistant is something that has occurred over my lifetime and as a result of many experiences. These experiences have developed a skill set in me that I believe uniquely qualifies me for this particular area of health care. As I considered the caregiving skills and attention to detail required of a nurse, and the problem solving and responsibility required of a physician, I realized that I share qualities with individuals in both professions. I believe that this combination of qualities defines the role of a physician assistant and it is these qualities that make me uniquely suitable for this career path.

For me, enrolling at Milan Institute to become a Medical Assistant was a career choice. I had been working in retail since I graduated from high school, but I wanted a job that would be more rewarding and fulfilling in the long term.
