For me, enrolling at Milan Institute to become a Medical Assistant was a career choice. I had been working in retail since I graduated from high school, but I wanted a job that would be more rewarding and fulfilling in the long term. Even though I had much support from friends and family, my biggest obstacle in the Medical Assistant program was proving to myself what I can achieve. The homework was a big challenge for me because it felt overwhelming at times. It was a lot to pack into such a short amount of time. Since graduating, I have been working at an internal medicine facility. It's my patients that keep me going. I have had many patients thank me for being kind to them and cheering them up.
