Many people ask what is terrorism and why does it happen? Terrorism is a world-wide problem that is caused by terrorist who plan to take over their country with a group of people with the same goal as them.
Types of Terrorism
There are different types of Terrorism one is political terrorism. Political terrorism is an attack or attacks in a large environment place trying to make a disaster upon people or even kidnapping. Political terrorism is a very dangerous group because they are well-trained and it’s become very hard for the police to try and stop them because they only care about getting the job done and not their own life. That can be very dangerous going against a group of guys

“World Trade center was a center of attraction for all these terrorist attacks. Well before 9/11 incident the WTC already World Trade Center already got a choke through bomb blasts on Feb 26, 1993. This was said to be a failure one as they aimed for twin tower attacks and missed their task. There was a truck placed in the basement parking of North Tower New York city. Miserably, the truck was full of bombing materials. This was a failure attack as it did not demolish the twin towers. But it was the first biggest attack to destroy the backbone of the US. Ahmad Ajaj, Mahmud Abouhalima, Nidal A. Ayyad, Ramzi Yousef, Abdul Rahman and Mohammad Salameh, were the core team group who planned and executed this attack which was financed by Shaikh Mohammed.”
Terrorist only attacks because some of them believe they have no choice to and another reason why people join is because they want to be a leader or have been denied or stripped of their rights.”We cannot say that the presence of one factor provokes terrorism in the same way that we can say with scientific certainty that certain toxins cause diseases”. They have a mind of their own we can’t really figure out what their main goal is if they were to create a group powerful enough to destroy our complete freedom. At this point it is not a group large to take us in a war but their attacks still hurt us in a
During an interview of three family members, I was able to learn more information about the events of 9/11. My mom, Jamie Goldman, was the first person I interviewed. She told me she was helping a friend with her new business in Aiken, SC. She first heard on the radio, breaking news, that a plane had flown into one of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center. Her first thought was that a plane had crashed accidentally. As the day went on, she learned of even more horrible acts against our country, and then realized our Nation was under attack from terrorist. My mom was heartbroken, scared, sad, and mad all at the same time. She struggles with forgiving the terrorist but knows that God would want her to forgive them. The song "God Bless the USA" is a song that helps my mom cope with the events of 9/11. My mom did not know anyone personally that was killed or injured on 9/11. She said, "after 9/11, our country has been a country at war. We have stopped loving our neighbors and instead, started judging them."
On September 11, 2001, the Islamist terrorist group known as al-Qaeda launched a series of terrorist attacks on the United States of America, specifically in the New York City and Washington D.C areas. Nineteen al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes with the intention of using them as suicide attacks that would crash those planes into designated buildings, or targets. Two of the four passenger jets were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, both of which collapsed entirely within two hours of being hit. The third plane was crashed into the Pentagon, and the west side of the building, which is the Headquarters of the US Department of Defense, partially collapsed. The fourth hijacked plane was intended for the US Capitol Building in Washington D.C, but instead crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers of the plane interfered with the hijackers. The attack on September 11th was devastatingly fatal—almost 3,000 people died in the attacks, including all of the al-Qaeda hijackers and every passenger aboard the four planes.
Terrorism can be generally defined as using threats or actions to intimidate a certain nation; most of the time it is just to induce fear on those nations. In the novel, terrorism is used in this way. It’s a word used a lot within the novel and its important to mention because each side claims the other to be terrorist.
In the article “Terrorized by War on Terror” by Zbigniew Brzezinski, is about the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. They hijacked four airplanes in mid-flight. The terrorists flew two of the planes into two the World Trade Center in New York City. The crash caused the buildings to catch fire and collapse causing the whole city to fill up with smoke and ash. Another plane destroyed part of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane cr...
Many analysts, researchers, and professors have tried to define the purpose of terrorism. Some believe that can only be achieved when we know how the mind of a terrorist works. The Encyclopedia Britannica describes terrorism as, “The systematic use of violence or threat of violence by organized groups to achieve specific goals. Terrorist activities may be directed against individuals, organizations or governments. Terrorism is employed by radical groups to obtain concessions from established governments, such as a change in policies unfavorable to them or the release of imprisoned members of their organizations…” (Encyclopedia Britannica. “Terrorism” 1987 T-169)
Terrorism is not a new concept and although the treat has been highlighted by the events of September 11th, there has been a history of terrorism in America leading as far back as the establishment of the country. Although the proverb of “one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter” can be true on certain accounts, there is a distinction. The CIA uses a definition outlined by Title 22 Section 2656f(d) of the US Code, which states, "terrorism means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents ” (2013). This definition has two important aspects, politically motivated violence and the targeting noncombatants. These two aspects address the motive and methods of a terrorist organization. Through the understanding of this definition it becomes clear that organizations like Al-Qaeda are ...
9/11 conspiracy theories came about just six weeks after the terrorist attacks. Alex Jones, one of the earliest 9/11 conspiracy theorists did a broadcast and said, “98 percent chance this was a government-orchestrated controlled bombing"(Jones). From this viewpoint, the government knew what was going to happen on September 11, 2001. It was the government’s plan to put explosives in the buildings. Michael Ruppert is another early conspiracy theorist who had a similar idea than Alex Jones on what happened during the attacks. He watched the 9/11 attacks live on TV as the second plane hit the South Twin Tower. “I may not have reported it right away, but I was in full investigative mode from the second I saw the second airplane hit the tower” (Ruppert).
The World Trade Center bombing triggered a response from the American government, but that response did not do enough to prevent future attacks against American targets. On February 26, 1993, at 18 minutes past noon, an explosion ripped through the underground parking garage of the Trade Center complex. The bombers rented a van, filled it with explosives and gasoline, and set the fuse,...
Over the past century, terrorism has advanced from random killings to enormous plans for terrorist groups. To understand terrorism, you must first define it. Terrorism as we all know it is hard to define and understand, and has many different definitions as it is used widely. The U.S. Department of State defines terrorism as, “The calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological”.
