The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians in time of pursuit of politician aims, John Brown was an American abolitionist. John Brown wanted to overflow the institution of slavery. Terrorism is the unlawful use of violence and intimidation against civilians. Based upon the definition of terrorism, John Brown was a terrorist.

On the night of May 24 John Brown entered the proslavery town of Pottawatomie Creek. Brown and his group were armed with rifles and, knives to drag out helpless people and hack their heads with the broadswords. Brown and his men killed two sons of an individual whom they sought. Before night was through, five victims were brutally slain by the hands of John Brown. Lawrence and the massacre at Pottawatomie Creek set off a brutal guerrilla war in Kansas. By the end of 1856, over 200 people would be gunned down in cold blood.
