Matthew Schmidt 5/3/17 Terrorism Terrorism has been around since the first century. Terrorism is the use of violent acts to frighten the people in an area as a way of trying to achieve a political goal. Though it wasn’t always in the United States. The first group of terrorists was known as the Zealots of Judea. The romans also knew them as the Sicarii or the dagger-men because sica means small dagger. They were motivated by the belief that they couldn’t stay faithful to the Jewish beliefs while still being Romans. They were founded by Hassan Al-Sabah. He was known as the mountain man because he ran his cult in the Mountain Fortress of Alamut. From 2000-2004 more than one thousand people died or were injured be the Palestine. In 9/11/2001
During an interview of three family members, I was able to learn more information about the events of 9/11. My mom, Jamie Goldman, was the first person I interviewed. She told me she was helping a friend with her new business in Aiken, SC. She first heard on the radio, breaking news, that a plane had flown into one of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center. Her first thought was that a plane had crashed accidentally. As the day went on, she learned of even more horrible acts against our country, and then realized our Nation was under attack from terrorist. My mom was heartbroken, scared, sad, and mad all at the same time. She struggles with forgiving the terrorist but knows that God would want her to forgive them. The song "God Bless the USA" is a song that helps my mom cope with the events of 9/11. My mom did not know anyone personally that was killed or injured on 9/11. She said, "after 9/11, our country has been a country at war. We have stopped loving our neighbors and instead, started judging them."
It was the year 2010 and a dog that had survived 9/11 was depressed because, her owner died in 9/11. She was a search dog at 9/11, is 9 years old now, a German Shepard, and a police dog. The dogs name is Karis and a family with only a mother took Karis in. There was one daughter named Velma. Mother is the dogs police partner.

It will be sad. 2,996 people were did in twin tower. I feel sad when it was happening in twin tower. The people were running and save there live when it was finish the firefighters and the dogs they were look for people who were hurt and kids. In washington they hit on pentagon 66 people were did pentagon .I don't know why but people were saved and hurt. I was scared when it happen.
The FBI defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives (fbi.gov).” By this definition, terrorism can be classified as internal or international based on the overall intent of the attack. Terrorism has been around since the beginning of time, but it’s only since 2011 that the world has come to fully understand the meaning of terrorism. The following paragraphs will highlight four different types of terrorist attacks that all took place within the United States spanning over a 40 year time period.
Thesis: The 9/11 attacks are the airports more restrictive on what you can bring on a plane.
2,753 people died in the World Trade Center, 403 of which were NYFD, NYPD, and Port Authority personnel. This number could have been lower if the fire department and police department had worked together appropriately (Tracy, Thomas. “FDNY to Announce 32 More 9/11 Linked Deaths .” NY Daily News, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, 7 Sept. 2017, www.nydailynews.com/new-york/fdny-announce-32-9-11-linked-deaths-anniversary-nears-article-1.3476104.) The police and fire departments were against each other since at least 1993, this led to them being unprepared during the event of 9/11 because of the lack of coordination. The 9/11 attacks were terrorist-caused, planes were hijacked and flown into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a random field in Pennsylvania.
9/11 was a event that would never be forgotten and people's hearts the tragedy happened over 10 years ago and we remember it like if we remember the world wars. To commercial airliners crashed into the north and south tower of the World Trade Center or did they? People speculate that before about airplanes were military planes because the pictures they were taking below before the crash had a strange object that looks like a bomb. Some people think that it was planned by the government to get people's attention and some people think that is the truth the Osama bin Ladin the leader of the terrorist group that killed 2000 people on September 11, 2001.this became a theory because people thought that it was the government because how would Terrace get their hands on military aircraft with bombs on it.
An event that has impacted was 9/11. It shook everybody's world. 9/11 is a mark on our planet and it probably won't go away, unless it never happened. It started at 8:45 guys flew up in planes and crashed into the twin towers, and killed allot of people. Even before that, they attacked some of our warships, also they accused us for many attacks so they wanted to crash us.(modern world history)(Donnovan 1) Mostly in the Middle East. The generation has become new every year we are rebuilding ourselves not just us but New York and the world. People who experienced 9/11 are still reacting to it every day. They are still trying to understand the changing world. (Barbara 1)

Terrorism could be defined as the use of violence in order to accomplish some type of political coercion, usually premeditated and against innocent people. When an act of terror occurs it affects nations near and far. The Popular front for the Liberation of Palestine is no different than any other terrorist organization that exists today. The organization that has been in existence for over 45 years still instills domestic fear in people and recognized around by governments as a serious threat.
“Torture is what Al Qaeda terrorists did to 2,977 Americans on 9/11” said Cheney (“Is Torture Ever Justified”). The torture that happened could have been prevented if the building construction would of had been completed, a lot better communication, start fighting off the terrorist when they were giving us hints, and higher security. The terrorist attacks on September Eleventh could have been prevented.
Over the past century, terrorism has advanced from random killings to enormous plans for terrorist groups. To understand terrorism, you must first define it. Terrorism as we all know it is hard to define and understand, and has many different definitions as it is used widely. The word "terrorism" stems from the word "terror", which means to instill fear in. People become terrorists when they take the actions towards instilling fear and terror upon people to prove a certain point or agenda.

The word terror dates back to the French Revolution. “A terrorist was, in its original meaning, a Jacobin who ruled France during la Terruer” (Moeller 20). Terrorism has clearly become much broader in the years since its origination. Since the concept was first birthed in France it has been used for separatist, nationalistic, political and religious ends, etc.
The word terrorism was first used during the French Revolution from the reign of terror inflicted by the French from 1784-1804 ("International Affairs"). It was used to describe the violent acts perpetrated on the French that inflicted terror on the various peoples and instilled fear within them. However, at the time it had a more positive connotation than the term that instills fear today. During the French Revolution this was because it referred to state-sponsored terrorism in order to show the need of state instead of anarchy, sometimes promoted by other groups (Hoffman 2). Therefore, even though terrorism has taken a new nature, terrorism can refer to official governments or guerrilla groups operating outside national governments ("International Affairs"). In order to encompass terrorism’s various sectors and explain it to the public, in both positive and negative aspects, many analysts have tried to put it into a few words. Terrorism is a method used by tightly of loosely organized groups operation within states or international territories that are systematic in using deliberate acts of violence or threats in order to instill...
