The 3D Printer can be a bad thing in other people's opinions because it can cause people to illegally print out guns or even side effects that can happen with the Printer. One major thing is that the 3D Printer can cause is that it can use up a lot of electricity that can cost you a lot to pay for your electric bills. This can cause you to waste your money for your future and having not enough money to pay for your other bills because of the use of 3D Printers. “3D Printers consume about 50 to 100 times more electrical energy” (Gilpin). 3D Printers have a lot of parts in the machine to make the Printer work properly, which can also determine how much power it has to use when using it, and if you Printer is complex, this can use a lot of energy which can cause you to rise up your electric bill by a bunch which can cause …show more content…
3D Printer aren't really ready to make food to be edible yet since the machine is made out of particles that we don't even eat. When food is printed out or utensils, it can have some bacteria in the food which can be poisonous for us when the Printer is only able to make any material for projects and things that people need for their health. Lastly the main argument against the 3D printer that the 3D Printer has is that it could actually allow you to print out real firearm and that can make people to argue to not have 3D Printers to be purchased, and so that will create a fight, which is why “Legislators are attempting to close that loophole now, after Congress ignored the issue for quite some time, with special requirements for printed guns.” (Gilpin) People say that the Printer can allow you to print out anything, and for most people that means that they can also print out firearms and lethal weapons. Most other people think that it's not okay to be printing those stuff, as it could cause to make the 3D Printer look bad for the
The printing press was, arguably, the most impactful invention in history. Created by Johannes Gutenberg, the printing press are sets of metal letters set in a frame that could be inked, papered and pressed. The printing press affected the fast and wide spread of new ideas changing everyday life. The Protestant Reformation was a movement that changed people’s mind about Catholic belief and created new sects of Christianity. The Exploration Era led to many discoveries of the Americas and opened up the curiosity of many. Both of these historical events were important consequences of the printing press. The Exploration Era was the more important consequence of the printing press than the Protestant Reformation.
According to a recent study, the meat being supplied by our nation’s schools might not meet the standards by the fast-food industry. Everyday students are sitting down to a processed, unhealthy, fat filled lunch. While many students are educated in the topic, some may be oblivious to the damage the food is doing to their body. Students all around the world are eating processed, genetically modified food, but with a new school program, they will be getting balanced, all natural meals.
Technology is evolving rapidly in today’s society. Different types of technology are coming into the scene. One piece that has been revealed and is used by millions of people is 3D printers. In the documentary “Print the Legend,” viewers can learn about the process of making a 3D printer and the marketing behind this piece of technology. However, there is a hidden message in the documentary “Print the Legend.” That message is no matter what obstacle you may face you can always overcome it through hard work. “Print the Legend,” educates viewers on the world of 3D printing and tries to send a message to the audience to never give up on your dreams.
The field of bioprinting, using 3D printing technology for producing live cells with extreme accuracy, could be the answer to many of the problems we as humans face in the medical field. It could be the end to organ waiting lists and an alternative for organ transplants. In 3D printing technology lies the potential to replace the testing of new drugs on animals. However, the idea of applying 3 dimensional printing to the health industry is still quite new and yet to have a major impact. Manufacturing working 3D organs remains an enormous challenge, but in theory could solve major issues present today.

“Actions speak louder than words” but in this case results speak louder than words. Just because the labels say it’s safe, is it? How can something that’s only recently been discovered be considered safe when we don’t know the long term outcome? Hearing that my food has been ‘Genetically Modified’ just sounds messed up from the start. Our countries people are trusting what they consume by words spoken by people they’ve never even met and people who are only out to make lots of money with whatever it takes. Do you really think that the business owners running the food system actually eats the average food that is in a grocery store? Doubtful. Largely between 1997 and 1999, genetically modified food ingredients suddenly appeared in 2/3rds of all US processed foods
...elected and many years and a great deal of money has been put into research about concerns regarding genetically modified food. This ensures genetically engineered crops are not dangerous for consumption and will not cause an allergic reaction. Genetically engineered food is not dangerous and beneficial for all humans.
In order to analyze its pros and cons, we need to know the technology first. As one of the advertisement states, “3D Printing: Make anything you want” . Of course, with the current maturity of this technology, this line exaggerates its effects, yet it certainly has a point. 3D printing is “a mechanical process whereby solid objects are created by ‘printing’ successive layers of material to replicate a shape modeled in a computer. ” To put it more vividly, the printing process of a 3D printer is like to make a melaleuca cake with various materials. And “the materials”, as the inventor of this technology Charles W. Hull once wrote, “include polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, food, probably other things, too” . So, imagine these materials can be melted like cream and stretched as thin as the hairline. The printer uses these lines to draw the outline of the object based on the inputted or scanned blueprint firstly and then overlaps the lines upon the previous frame just like decorating the cake with
PRINTING PRESS AND STANDARDISATION In 1476, William Caxton introduced England to the printing press. This significant introduction to one of the world’s greatest technological innovations, at the time, helped to increase the spread of literacy and knowledge amongst the British people as the mass production of books became cheaper and more commonly available. According to Mastin (2011), the first book ever printed, although Caxton’s own interpretation was ‘The Recuyell of the Historyes of Troye’ in 1473. Furthermore, Mastin (2011) states that in the following 150 years after the introduction of printing, up to 20000 books were printed.
...vailable things that can be done with a 3d printer. Many see a 3D printer being common in every home one day. They are objects of the future. The ways they can be used is almost infinite. Hopefully one day they can be used to give better lives to those who wouldn't live well otherwise, if someone had a faulty heart they can get a new one printed with little or no chance of rejection, or if someone who wouldn't be able to get nutritious food now will be able to have food cartridges that can help them eat so they don't become malnourished, or if there is just a student who wants to learn about engineering and circuitry can build one then use it for educational purposes as well as recreational purposes. There are many different types of 3D printers, each with a different function of what they can do. One day they'll greatly improve the world.
Processed food should be banned from school meals due to increasing health issues in children, increasing academic deficiency and increasing production cost to produce processed foods. There are people who would oppose to this idea due to population growth and an increasing food demand. However, this escalating demand of food is forcing the food industry and other government agencies to resolve the current hunger and lack of resources issues, by hiring processing factories and private companies to manufacture processed foods. The greater part of school age children consume processed foods on a daily basis.
In the past ten years technology has had a massive boom, from the ability to access the internet from virtually any location, to things like having a PC in your pocket. One form of technology that has been getting very large in the past few years is 3D printing. 3D printing is essentially the use of a 3D printer to create tangible objects. The history of 3D printing goes farther back than you think, the process to print everything is very similar, and there are many uses. With 3D printing, one can print almost anything they can think of. People have printed many things like a piece of chocolate or even live organs.
The idea was to improve 3d printer with special technology, a single printer, with multi material features, can transform from any 1D strand into 3d shape, 2d surface into 3d shape or morph from one 3d shape into another. The shape of 3d technology is basic mode for 4d. Objet Connex multi-material technology is an 3D printing important part of his work – and is being used extensively in this new process. The Connex multi material technology allows the researchers to program different material properties into each of the various particles of the designed geometry and harnesses the different water-absorbing properties of the materials to active the self-assembly process. With water as its activation energy, this technique promises new possibilities for embedding programmability and simple decision making into non-electronic based materials.
Imagine printing what ever it is you need from your own office or home. In addition to that, you will have full control customizing the product and the printer will have no difficulties achieving your designs. All you have to buy is the ink and the material additives and the printer will do the rest.
...esity is becoming an epidemic, nanotechnology could be used to create foods which are low in fat, salt and sugar but are still nutritionally dense and taste great. Food is naturally nanostructured material – simply boiling an egg causes many changes; the proteins in the egg white change shape and tangle together to form a solid. We now have the opportunity to study what exactly happens in these nanoscale changes. Nanotechnology gives us many ways to ensure our food is safe and waste is cut down. However, there are many concerns that this form of processing is another way to put more power into the hands of large food companies- yet food has never been safer than it is today largely due to the strict hygiene and sanitation practices these companies follow. As the population continues to grow – so too will the importance of new food technologies like nanotechnology.
