The technology and complex foundation of additive manufacturing (AM) or more commonly known as 3D printing is still being widely explored through trial and error processes to improve this innovative field. Consumer goods such as clothes, food, decoration, household objects and tools, fragrance and so much more has good prospect within the spectrum of AM applications. The 3D printing machine enable industrial designers, mechanical engineer, packaging designers, graphic artists, marketing staff, fashion designers, interior designers and the like to create prototypes efficiently. How is timing more efficient with AM? Time to market shrink significantly as the 3D printer help designers and engineer bring their creation to life swiftly. All matters of aesthetics and functionality can be seen and reformed for optimal quality with AM.
Imagine printing what ever it is you need from your own office or home. In addition to that, you will have full control customizing the product and the printer will have no difficulties achieving your designs. All you have to buy is the ink and the material additives and the printer will do the rest.
Major 3D printing companies like Stratasys have a great deal of success with their multiple lines of 3D printer, each catering to different sectors of consumer goods. Stratasys has three major line of 3D printer as follows: the Idea series, Design series and the Production series. The technology here is heralded as a designer’s dream tool as it brings ideas to life and the best thing is, these printers are available to everyone from individual designers to small groups.
Let’s say, for instance, a toy designer is going to use a printer from the Idea series to prototype a design for a new toy that is slated ...

Cubify utilize some basic designs and simpler geometric shape that can be easily made and printed from any CAD software. There are, however, far more intricate and complex design process to indicate the capabilities of 3d printer. Freedom Of Creation (FOC) is a branch off 3D Systems, another major 3D printing company, and FOC creates some very complex items for fashion projects. Fashion is a major channel for 3D Printing giving it better access to the younger crowd and garnering more attention on social media. The illustration below shows an intricate CAD design and the product brought to life with the help of a 3D Systems printer.
Imagine that you have a really neat idea for three dimensional formal baby shower place cards that have never been seen anywhere else. After making a prototype, you are able to produce them in a way that is quick, efficient and cost effective. Instead of trying to find national distributors and manufacturers, you decide to do things the old fashioned way. You get out the word with fliers, newspaper ads, Craigslist.com postings, send off emails to friends, family and coworkers; basically, you are working night and day to have your entire neighborhood digitally and physically covered.
Many judges and civilians questioned the intentions of Socrates. They believed he was corrupting their youth and making them go against the beliefs they had been taught by the law, their state and their parents. The intent of questioning and cross-examination, which Socrates often did, was not to make people feel inferior but to make them understand the shallowness of their knowledge. Being skilled in one area, Socrates believed, does not make you wise in all tings. You must be willing to explore and desire a deeper understanding of all things. Socrates wanted Meletus to understand that he was not trying to corrupt the youth or make them deny the gods of the state, but rather, “believe in divine and spiritual agencies” that encourage virtue and doing good to all men. Socrates believed that one should not fear death and punishment if they are doing what they believe to be good, and a person cannot make themselves better by accusing, punishing, or killing a person who questions their knowledge and beliefs. They only way to improve ourselves is by taking what our accusers say about us and digging into the meaning of it. By doing this we can search for understanding and try to make ourselves better. As Socrates says, “the life which is unexamined is not worth living.”
After Socrates had finished arguing with Gorgias in The Gorgias, he moves in to the next in line: Polus. They discuss the concepts of committing injustice over suffering injustice and the importance of punishment of the felons. Socrates say to Polus, “but in my opinion, Polus, the unjust or doer of unjust actions is miserable in any case- more miserable, however, if he is not punished and does not meet with retribution, and less miserable if he be punished and meets with retribution at the hands of gods and men” (Plato 53-54). Here Socrates declares that to do is worse than to suffer evil and if a man has done evil it is in his best interest to be punished than to be left unpunished. This is because according to his viewpoint doing injustice
The character of Socrates in Plato’s Republic is a curious one. Socrates is rarely satisfied with widely or casually accepted statements, and is fearless in taking on enormous topics for debate. One such topic that Socrates tackles early and often in the Republic is that of justice and the just life. It takes little time for Socrates to begin an attempt at demonstrating to two of his friends, Glaucon and Adeimantus, that in fact it pays to be just. After much debate and even the creation of a fictional city, a resolution of some kind is reached. Socrates does succeed in convincing his opposition that it pays to be just, however he does not demonstrate said fact. The difference is subtle, but profound.
Socrates is speaking to Polemarchos, and during their conversation, Polemarchos proposes that justice is to simply help friends and to harm enemies. Socrates then brings up a great point, which is the way people choose friends and enemies, and how that process has flaws in it. He explains that people become friends with those that they believe are genuinely good, and become enemies with those who they believe to be evil. Therefore choosing friends or enemies is open to error since, people don’t know who is truly good or bad. From that point, they come to the conclusion that a better definition of justice would be, to benefit friends if they are good, and harm enemies if they are evil. Socrates asks the ultimate question, which is if it is alright to harm anyone at all. He proceeds to explain that harming another individual, be it a human or horse, makes them less just. If one causes another to be less just, whether the person is good or bad to begin with, that is unjust in itself.
In “The Apology,” Socrates represents himself in his own trial. He boldly questions the morality of the people of court. In this report, I will be analyzing portions of “The Apology” in order to reveal the intellectuality of this text within this time frame. I will only discuss bits of “The Apology“ on account that it is a lengthy piece. However, before discussing the speech it is important to set the scene. Socrates was born in 469 B.C.E. and lived to 399 B.C.E. (Nails, 2014). What we do know about him is second-hand knowledge, or recounts from his former students, Plato and Xenophon (“Plato and Socrates”). Nevertheless, his legacy has influenced philosophy and continues to do so.
In Book 1, throughout the Dialogue, Socrates(The main speaker, who was Plato's mentor, died in 399 B.C ), Cephalus (A wealthy and retired old businessman, head of a business family.)Polemarchus Cephalus' (son and the pupil of Lysias, a teacher of rhetoric),Glaucon (Also a half-brother of Plato), Thrasymachus (A sophist, teaches of anything in regards to persuade the masses, people who do not teach with accuracy.) Have an argument regarding what is known to be of one of the many virtues, that which is Justice. Through the many conversations taking place, Socrates then begins a deep philosophical conversation regarding to the matters of Justice. He rises the main questions of the argument in which through the dialogue he defends with his rationalistic explanations. Thrasymachus after listening to Socrates beliefs with rationalistic thoughts towards Justice stands at Opposition to what Socrates definitions are for Justice. Then decides Thrasymachus along with his own argumentative nature, to express his definition for Justice. Thrasymachus, believing that Justice works only on the behalf of the strong though he says this because he is a sophist, and sophists believe they are in power and they are good for arguments and expressing their ideas vs. Socrates believing that Justice is actually a virtue, beneficial and healthy for the soul. Proving that Thrasymachus concept behind Justice is incorrect, Socrates claims that injustice cannot be a...
“Are we to say that we are never intentionally to do wrong, or that in one way we ought not to do wrong, or is doing wrong always evil and dishonorable, as I was just now saying, and as has been already acknowledged by us? (Dover p.49)” Socrates’ standard is that he refuses to see justice as an eye for an eye. He believes that logical arguments and persuasion should be the defense of the accused. Socrates believes that since he cannot convince the people who ruled against him that there is no other option then to pay the sentence that he was
The process starts with a concept or idea.(Mashable) The first stage of 3D printing is planning out this concept with either computer aided design or animation modeling software. There are tons of programs out there today with these capabilities. Google SketchUp for example is known for being easy to use.(3ders) Using some easy tools that can be learned quickly, edges and faces can come together to make very intricate models. It can even be used with Google Earth. All those models of the world in that software are made in what is basically the same process digitally. Blender is the free 3D creation program that exists for the needs of major operating systems.(3ders) It is a high end software containing features that are much more capable than Google SketchUp. Tinkercad is a newer way of creating designs for 3D printers and works slightly faster than the others.(3ders) Containing only three simple tools, it’s effectiveness for creating models is among the best..
These requirements might seem obvious at first, yet it is exactly the demand and supply on each one of them that causes the limitations and control of this technology. The 3D printer is no longer an equipment that can only be found in a scientific lab, but people can buy it on Amazon with the price from 600 to 2000 dollars. Moreover, there are numerous companies which are starting to invest new functions upon the 3D printer such as the three types of 3D printers that have been advertised in the “Top 3 Best 3D Printers You Must Have” video: “the Tiko, the Palette, and the Moonray”. For instance, the Tiko printer is a new type of “uni-body” 3D printer which prevents the unstable printing problem caused by the traditional “separate three-piece rail frame”. Also, its 1 kg rolls, large “internal filler” and the “close-build chamber” also promises the project to be more “reliable and accurate”.
According to Paul’s requirements he requires a printer, scanner and a photocopier. As a compact solution I have chosen an all-in-one PSC (Printer Scanner Copier), which I have listed below.
CADD is essential to some choice occupations. Most occupations have the possibility to use CADD in the process of making goods. Whether it be from designing an item or getting a better three-deminsional view of a product.
Socrates was a man that was in search of the truth about wisdom. However, it became more than just a simple search, rather it tuned into a complex assignment where the answer of true wisdom leads Socrates to be brought up on charges of corrupting society. As a philosopher Socrates is known to take every angle of an argument and to never put belief into one idea. Therefore Socrates was known to perplex even simple ideas and to frustrate his opponent. People who have experienced this accuse Socrates of making his own truths about the natural and unnatural world when in actuality he his still in search of a better meaning. This becomes a key factor in the "Apology" where Socrates is brought up on charges for corrupting the mind of the youths and the people that attended to his lectures. His best defence comes about when he tells the Athenian jury about his account of a confrontation of his friend Chairephon and the Oracle of Delphi.
