Did you know that majority of the time having a college education on a job application gives you a better chance at getting the job that you’ve been wanting? You might be thinking that it is still possible for you to get that dream job you’ve been waiting for without a college degree, well I disagree. I know that a college education will be very necessary in today’s society to be successful in your career, so with that being said college is worth the cost of tuition. College is worth the cost of tuition because you will have a degree to fall back on even if that degree you received isn’t what your job requires. As stated in the video “Are College Degrees Useless?” the host mentioned that “only 4.5 percent of people who have a bachelor’s degree coming out of college are unemployed.” That is a major difference of the “unemployment rate of high school diploma of 11.3%” also stated in the video. With that being said, if you were to go to college and that job doesn’t work out for you can still use your degree that would be suitable in many other jobs. This statement was included in our class debate, “We have to look forward ten to twenty years later where we will most likely be living in a very technical world when the hard labor or ‘blue collared’ jobs will all be done by machines so the only jobs left are jobs that require a college degree.” This explanation is very accurate considering that each year many more advancements in technology are invented. We perform less with our hands now than we did in the past. With that being said the blue collared jobs won’t be available in the future and you will have to pursue in a career that requires a college degree. Realistically, it only makes sense that the cost of tuition is worth going to college, so you won’t get entangled in that
