The reason I pursue a culinary art career because while getting my personal trainer certificate I wanted to do more with it and going into the culinary art industry will do that for me. I want to start meal prep for the clients I do train. When I did cook for family and friends I enjoy hearing them say it was good and I should go to school. When I started out, I did not know a lot in my major I study for in school. My passion began to grow more each time I learned something new. I knew very little about the major before starting my schooling. My cousin did tell me some stuff about the field and I did my own research as well. I know starting out in the industry will not be as easy but working hard and not giving up on myself will be one of the barriers that will keep my passion alive. My goal after completion of the program is to continue to learn in this field and always trying new things. I have a few jobs line up to keep me busy once I am done as well. My attitude towards the culinary field has not changed. I am looking forward using the tools and technique I learned in my time in school and internship. There was no need for me to change my attitude because I …show more content…
When working on the line the communication was not always great. There were days some of the other interns did not feel motivated and communicate was not well with each other. Working in a fast pace line communicate is very important key. I would say I communicate well with everyone before the services and after. When setting up I would joke around with everyone or help with stations. I would do this to see how they are feeling today. I would say it worked well for me because if everyone is on the same page the service will be great. Sometimes it did not go well because some of the interns just did not care much or did not want to be there. I know there are some things I need to improve in my communication skills but overall I think I am in the right
The different approach I would take in handling difficult conversation I would, first set boundaries, keep the relationship professional and be honest about intern work performance to my supervisor. I would also put a corrective plan in action, monitor and provide support. I will communication through emails so that I will have a paper trail for upper management. The strategies that would help me improve my communication skill is the ones recommended by Engles (2007b) the three stages that can be relied on to broach any uncomfortable conversation.
The career I have chosen for my future is to become a registered dental hygienist. It wasn’t until I actually learned what dental hygienists do that influenced my interest from medical to dentistry. The first honest reason I was gravitated to dental hygiene was because of the salary. I didn’t really know what Dental Hygienist actually did until I did some research.
I have wanted to go to a Culinary School since I was seven years old. I have a true passion for cooking and baking. I feel like I could make something of myself by embracing my passion. Ma-joring in Business and is a key ingredient in running my own business, which is also a dream of mine. Financial aid, scholarships, the military, or hitting the ground running will get me where I need to go after I graduate.
Every career field has its dark secrets that no one wants to talk about, even the best fields that a person could go into. Many people do not understand that there will always be setbacks and problems within a career field and that they need to overcome them. The one career field that no one suspects having dark secrets and problems is the the culinary industry. One of the dark secrets is that this career is difficult for women. A career in the field of culinary arts is hard for women to pursue because they have to choose between their family and their career, there is extreme stress that could lead to mental and physical problems, and there is evident sexism within the industry.
I wake up at 5:00 AM, groggily throwing on sweats and a hoodie, dashing out the door to beat the sunrise. I climb to the top of a nearby hill overlooking the city for the best view. As the sun emerges from the clouds and sunlight scatters over the city, light rays enter the 55mm convex lens and bend towards the focal point on the film. The rays hit light-sensitive silicon pixels on the film, producing an electric charge. "Click!"
My career goals are to become a culinary chef, and possibly run a business or own a business in Texas or possibly out of state. I expect my education at The Art Institute of San Antonio to help me obtain my career goals by providing the full knowledge I require in order to make my career goals, career accomplishments. I chose the career goals I have for myself because I really love food. I've been around homemade food for my entire life and I would love to pursue a career in it. I have researched the salary growth charts for this career, everything this career requires such as degrees, knowledge, etc.
I plan on starting college, if I get accepted, in January of 2018. I want to start at Southeast Community College in Beatrice and get my prerequisites done. After I finish those I want to move on to a larger college and start in the culinary program. I have always wanted to be a chef, I have been cooking and baking since I was around three. My grandma used to have me sit on the counter and help her male lunch, supper, and desserts. She is the reason I want to be a chef. She, at one point in her life, ran her parents cafe and she loved it. She has told me multiple stories about it and I want to be able to make those types of memories as well. After I finish college I want to start working for some company to get the hang of the business. I then want to move on and start my own business, I haven’t decided if I want a full restaurant, a cafe, or if I want to open a bakery. When I decide what I want to open, I will try to start it up and get it going. If the launch goes well and my business does well for a long time I want to expand and open more shops. I want to be able to start my own chain of places. This is what I see for my business side of my future, but not what I see for my life if I was to look ten years into the
The reason why I got myself into graphic design is because of my classmates in grade school. It was my eighth grade year and I was off to a great start. I was always getting into computers and had a passion for working with them, but I never really learned how to use Photoshop. Once and awhile I would find myself running into a website like Pixlr.
My reason for choosing this job as a cook is because I love to cook. I have been cooking for as long as I can remember. I have always admired watching different cooking shows and the techniques that they use in the kitchen. I’ve been interested in learning how to be able to cut up things super-fast and make quick and easy meals. If being a cook doesn’t work out, I would also love to be a photographer. I would love to make food, take pictures of it, and then send it to food companies to use for advertising. No matter what I end up doing, I know that I for sure want to do something that has to do with
The growing awareness of diseases and the desire to live a healthy life has sparked my interest in nutrition and dietetics. Working in the commercial food industry has trained me to be able to understand a company’s needs for cost reduction, profit maximization, and customer satisfaction. Being a certified Quality Auditor has familiarized me with the Quality Management Systems. Teaching Business Management and Self Management Skills at the university has further enhanced my interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, my work experience within the field of cake decoration has satisfied my aesthetic zeal.
I know that the major I chose as an electrical engineer is not an easy one, but I also know that this is the best fit for me, and that I chose the right one. Not only do I get to contribute to the ever-changing society that we live in, but I also face new challenges every day, which is exciting because that means that in my career each day is different, and I love taking on a new challenge, which will enhance my knowledge and make me a better electrical engineer.
In particular, it was helpful to here from individuals on the panel that were graduates from our program. Elizabeth Cowart, a LPC at Transitions of Augusta, informed my classmates and I about about her personal internship experiences. She noted four key things (1) the importance of getting as much hands-on experience as possible (2) taking a mental note of the what you like and dislike at each internship site (3) using weekly supervision hours to discuss your areas of strengths and weaknesses and (4) remembering to always maintain a professional image. In addition, she also gave a brief overview of opportunities (e.g., adolescent group therapy, child and parent therapy, disability evaluations, etc.) that interns might have at Transitions of
There are also good things that comes out of doing Culinary Arts. For instance, not only do they teach young people how to cook, they also teach them the basic knowledge of food. Culinary school makes transitioning into a professional kitchen easier than just going in and not knowing what to expect. I also found out that there are all kinds of jobs available to culinary school grads working in a restaurant, from the line to the host stand, research and development for a corporation; overseeing the kitchen at a hotel, etc. Seeing these facts helped me a lot with my career path.
During my whole life and experience I have been interested in the Art, Creativity, and I have been traveling around Graphics Designing. When I go out to centres, supermarkets, the high streets around Kingston anywhere in London, Germany and other parts of Europe which I have seen. I have seen lots of Graphics designs in advertising, Billboards companies for example in electronical products or any type of product the graphics advertising companies running around the world, just because of that I was inspired in the graphics designing and I was influence by the subject.
Food science is a foundation of cooking that needs to be understood in order to create or perfect your own recipes. Food science can additionally help to understand different methods of cooking and various techniques. These are interesting to learn about, but I don’t want to stop at a theoretical knowledge. I want to have room to be creative and to see the finished product of my work. Memorizing formulas or doing math all day, which is how I picture the world of food science, doesn’t sound like something that would make me happy in the long run. My high school years were focused on STEM courses, which helped me learn that I don’t enjoy only doing math and sciences all day. I missed being able to do art and music classes. I do think that I could learn about the field a little bit more before I shut it down completely, but I know that I need creativity in whatever job I
