Food is something that everyone enjoys and it gives me great pleasure to know that I can cause those reactions with my cooking. I have this desire in me that wants to use the skills and educations I have learn to bless others. I want to travel around the world and learn about different culture foods. I want to take my love for food and use it in a way that will ultimately be a blessing to others and to put smiles on theirs faces. I want them to feel better and leave better than when they came. When I am cooking, I know that I am not preparing a dish for myself, but for others. I love seeing people coming together for fellowship and putting aside their differences and eating with one another.
Just thinking of the fellowship brings back memory

I noticed that many culinarians do cooking shows and even have their own TV shows. I had this grand idea that I could do culinary Art as a mission field. I could travel and help others and also learn different cultures food. While researching, I found out that culinarians do not get paid much and the education is expensive, but they get to be creative and they also get hands-on training. I also discovered that Culinarians work long hours, and the career advancement is limited. There are also good things that comes out of doing Culinary Arts. For instance, not only do they teach young people how to cook, they also teach them the basic knowledge of food. Culinary school makes transitioning into a professional kitchen easier than just going in and not knowing what to expect. I also found out that there are all kinds of jobs available to culinary school grads working in a restaurant, from the line to the host stand, research and development for a corporation; overseeing the kitchen at a hotel, etc. Seeing these facts helped me a lot with my career path. I started to talk to my parents on how I should go about this career and they encouraged me to get a part-time
I felt I had been naïve and did not want to continue to invest time, and money into a career path I was not passionate and 100% sure about. I needed to get out of my parent’s shadow and explore the real
When choosing a famous culinarian I probably should have chosen someone a bit more famous like Paula Deen, Gordon Ramsey, or Anthony Bourdain. At least that way I would have a plethora of bios, summaries, and different multi medias to work with, who mind you are all amazing chefs and have made great names for themselves. But they are all “cookie cutter” chefs. They each have amazing talent and great TV personalities. But what have any of them done to enhance our industry?
There was the option to go for an OTA (Occupational Therapy Assistant) at a Community College. I set my mind and decided I would work towards an OTA. Though I thought I was finally set and finally found my career path, life reminded me I was now out of High School and responsible for contributing to some of my family's financial obligations. Going to College was my choice, it was never something my parents ever talked to me about or mentioned. I come from a family who has migrated from South America and their only goal was to work long hours in a manufacturing job to make a living.
Although I had no definite career plans, from childhood, my parents instilled in me values, such

The fun of having family reunions, meeting up with people you care about, and having a great time. Celebration when each family member would show up, or come home from a long trip. Going to church, having another thing to bond about, and when people return from trips being able to “Listen to gospel music outside at the church homecoming”(Nikki Giovanni). The great memories seem to never last, they just fade away till there's nothing left. My cultural background will be a great contribution to the Washington State University Coordinated Dietetics Program. Being raised in a Malasia, having visited different countries, and now living in the United States, I have experienced the similarities and differences among many diverse cultural groups and nutritional diets. This broad exposure to different cultures allowed me to relate to different types of people by understanding their ways and beliefs, a quality that will help me work well with other students and people. For example, many Malasians will eat something that is unhealthy in nutritional standards and has no benefits to the body. However, they will continue to consume it because it is common in their culture. I would like to teach Malasian people to look at food from a cultural and nutritional angle to be more healthful.
There are many things about high school that people look forward to. Some of the things is getting out of middle school, feeling like you are reaching the top of mount everest where the top is the senior year, graduation year. Even though it is a new experience having homework every night everyone pushes through it all because they are all trying to reach the same goal. The top, graduating. When senior year finally comes you feel successful, because, you have reached the top. But not full, the top of the mountain is reaching the very tip of it, and that is graduation day. When you get your cap and gown and have a graduation party afterwards. Or in some cases before graduation day. Some people will have an idea for what they want to do and or be after they graduate. And others don’t fully know and are still trying to get ahold of themselves for deciding what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. Some will be heading to college. The others will be taking life on right out of the gate and jump straight into a full time job. Which in some cases isn’t such a bad idea going to a full time job instead of going to college. For some graduating students their path that they are thinking on going is Culinary Arts school. Because they want to become a chef or some sort of a cook when they grow up. For those people with that dream there are a few schools that are good for teaching you how to be a well rounded cook. One of the schools name is Le Cordon Bleu, the other is called the Art Institute for Culinary Arts. Both schools are good but there are some things that people will be looking at to decide exactly where to go. Some of the information that they will be looking for is the tuition like, expenses, and financial aid. Other ...
A culinary chef has many skills and responsibilities that are not only necessary and useful, but also required to succeed. According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Chefs and head cooks oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served. They direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.” (“Chefs and Head Cook”) I have three main reasons for choosing the culinary field. The first is I have a lot of experience with and around kitchens and I know I really enjoy the atmosphere of a kitchen. Secondly, I am talented in cooking and I have succeeded in the programs I have already been a part of for culinary. The final reason for choosing Culinary Arts is that
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a chef. However, if one has a passion for cooking it will pay off. I am a creative person and cooking has endless possibilities of creativity, such as the way you make it and the way you plate it. I want to become a chef and hopefully open a restaurant one day. To do that, you need to learn the basic skills. Julia Child once said, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
My mother always comes up with ways to make vegetables taste delicious. Her meals are so mouthwatering that it is known throughout the neighborhood. Occasionally, we would have many guests over during the holidays. Partying and enjoying the nice atmosphere around the dining room, however, I 've noticed that they are all there impatiently waiting for my mother 's famous chicken fettuccine pasta dish. This is when my mother is the happiest. Cooking has always been her way of entertainment and she loves seeing others happy as they enjoy her delicious meal that she work so hard on. I 've never thought food could bring people together in such a comforting way, but it taught me that as long as you 're doing something you love then it can make others happy as well. Seeing her happy always warms my
There are so many reasons I love to cook, cooking is one of those things that just comes naturally for me, and I think I inherited, because I can cook almost anything and nail it on the first try, much like my grandmother. But the main reason I love to cook is because it keeps me stress free. For example when I am cooking I have very little time to think, because the cooking is challenging my mind and taking my mind off the stress of everyday life.
working environment of the individual will dictate how they wish to apply the skill. Being a chef can lead to other occupations as well, some which are not directly related to the foodservice industry. Teaching the skills of a culinarian, newspaper columnist or journalist critic. There are many possibilities to a professional chef outside a kitchen environment, learning by contact with other professionals is what professionalism is all about.
