Personal Narrative: My Trip To South Dakota

Making memories is something my family and I love to do. It can range from spending holidays together to watching movies on the couch. We usually go on a vacation in the winter, but a certain destination was calling our names. This summer we did something different. We had been talking about going to South Dakota for as long as I remember. Finally, my life was ready for some new adventures. The drive from my home sweet home to the Badlands of South Dakota was approximately six hours. My sister and I had the advantages of sitting in the back seats and not having to drive the long-lasting car ride. This means the car ride was going to be epic. Today was the day I was going to try something I’ve never done before… zip line! It was a short drive from our hotel to the zip line park and my nerves were really kicking in. My sister, Kyra and I put on all the safety gear and learned the important rules. The first line was short and sweet and it got all the butterflies out of us. The second line was my favorite because it was the highest and it had the best view. The breeze that whipped through my hair and the view of the mountains made me feel free. The next time where I have the opportunity to zip-line, there will be no doubts if I want to do it. After zip-lining, we went to visit the Mount Rushmore. It was so awesome to experience it in real life rather than seeing pictures of it online and in movies. It still amazes me how many men took the time to carve these glorious figures of some of our Presidents into rock. I learned lots of interesting facts about the history of Mount Rushmore and specifics of how it became what it is today. I still can see the image of Mount Rushmore in my head. The days were coming to an end and the energy was too. Our drive back included seeing an alluring waterfall. I stepped out of the car and my nostrils instantly flared as I smelled the waterfall, my eyes watered from the sights, and my ears heard the sound of water
