Personal Narrative Essay: A Fishing Trip To Canada

Gone Fishing!
It was an exciting day for me and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suites and food. When we got to the house the morning we were leaving, he showed us a picture of the cabin we would be staying in for the week. It took us a while to pack the car we all packed some of the same foods.
The trip to Canada was about two days long by car. On the way there we stayed in a hotel overnight. When we got to the hotel we took our luggage to our rooms. We went down stairs and we found the swimming pool, we went swimming and then we went to bed. The next morning we got up and packed and we were bock on the road. It was kind of fun because we had to cross the border into Canada. We had to show them our passports and our birth certificates to get across. When we got on the other side of the lake we got the fishing poles, minnows and gas. We had to take the gas to put in the boat motor. It was a one mile walk to get to the other lake. When we got to the lake we put the fishing tackle in the boat and then we went and started fishing for lake trout. We had to put two hundred feet of string down with a minnow on it. We had the minnow on a hook called a cow bell, it had bright neon color beads on it so the fish were able to see it in that dark water. We each were allowed to catch and keep 3 fish. I caught 2, Luke caught 3, Grandpa caught 3 and Grandpa’s friend caught 3. Then we started back to the cabin to have the fish
