Robert Lucas was born in Yakima, Washington on September 15, 1937. He was the oldest child of his father, Robert Emerson Lucas and his mother, Jane Templeton Lucas. He had a sister named Jenepher who was born in 1939 and a brother named Peter who was born in 1940.
