Nguyen Nguyen Melinda Lee Bailey HUMA 1301.P07 04/13/2016 Music concert field trip: Day Of Emotions Dance is my favorite hobby when I was a child. I used to watch dance concerts on TV shows, but I had not even watch it on stage. On April 08th, 2016, I attended a dance concert called Make Your Move like an audience. It was performed at John Anthony Theatre – Spring Creek Campus of Collin College. The concert consists of many styles of dancing from different College and University such as Collin College
I watched a dance show in the Sawyer Center at Colby-Sawyer College. The Sawyer Center is a medium sized venue, and is mostly used for theater productions. I felt this was a typical show for this venue because it is a school theater for shows that go on at Colby-Sawyer, and the dance group was from the school. The dancers were girls who attend the college, and did some sort of dance or cheer previous to this year. Their mission in this show was to one, get a good grade, and two, to be recognized
Over Halloween weekend, Dance TCU in concert, performed at Ed Landreth Hall on the TCU campus, was a mid term showcase performed by the students in the TCU School for Classical and Contemporary Dance. The overall mood was very professional. These college level dancers performed various pieces from Giselle to video edited versions of dance to contemporary dances inspired by swing dancing. Each piece was unique and whether the style was classical or contemporary, the execution was very good. The quality
into a wide, open room, the size of a warehouse with two bars on either side, a gigantic dance floor in the middle and the main stage towards the back with the DJ booth and LED visuals screens. The room smelled distinctly of marijuana and nearly every person had some sort of drink in their hand, clearly a liberal environment. The place was packed. Dozens of people at the bars, and possibly a few hundred on the dance floor, with everyone grooving and swaying to the music. The speakers enabled you hear
enjoyed the dance concert; from the thirteen dance performances was the After Part, Eternal Pointe Dreams, and Shifting Perceptions. I actually enjoyed all of the dance performances nbut the main ones that captured my attention were those three dance performances. Today when I went to the dance concert I arrived early to get great front row seats and get a pamflit to gather enough information as possible. I was still not exactly sure what to expect given the fact that the first dance performances
First off, I was comparing the spring concert to the senior showcase. In comparison the senior showcase was so much better and this time around it seemed a little ill rehearsed. However, although that was my initial opinion it turned out a little better than what I thought. For the first number, the lighting fit the costumes. The way the light reflected off of their black sequins dresses really made the dance stand out. I really enjoy the second dance “I had a dream” because the message was inspiring

November 19th, I went to see the Fall Dance Concert at 7:30 pm on Ybor City in Downtown Tampa. There was a full house, and the audience seemed mostly composed of students and people around the Ybor area. The concert consisted in a few dance performances, all put together by the Hcc Mainstage Theatre. Some of my favorites were triquetra, as the crow flies, ensemble, and freedom of speech. These were a series of choreographed acts performed by a group of Hcc dance students. I spent a pleasant evening
The spring dance concert is a performance everyone is looking forward to. Families and friends can see what their students do in class for an hour and a half a day performed in two or more amazing dances. During the dance concert dress rehearsal I learned a lot about the dance department and about my peers who dance. In my 18 weeks of dance class, I have only been able to perform and not see what my teacher sees. In the dress rehearsal, I got to view others and see the big picture. I saw so many
The fall dance concert, Rise, was held in the University Theatre at California State University Dominguez Hills. The individuals that helped make this concert come to life are the faculty choreographers: Amy Michelle Allen, Marco Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker. They were accompanied by two senior student choreographers, Alanna Neely-Sanchez and Mavra Pedraza. Rise is a collection of elaborate dances with a similar theme of empowerment.
As part of this assignment, I attended the UA Dance show: Jazz in AZ. While I enjoyed all of the performances that were presented during the show, I did find that two performances spoke to me more than the others. The two performances I enjoyed most were: —- and —-. The first dance, —-, was the opening performance of the night, and that may have contributed into what made me like the dance so much. The lights were dark, and everything was silent, until very dim grey lights were turned on, and there
The dance performance Still? was one of my favorite dance performs from the first half of the concert. What really grab my attention to the dance performance was the message in the music about black women’s. The type of music that was used for this performance was mainly positively and sound like something from the civil right era. The music was focus mostly on black women in society and black women appeals. The three songs that was played was “Who taught you to hate yourself”, “what if a black
The Winter Dance Concert is a collaborative collection of choreographic work by Ohio University Dance Division faculty and guest artists and was performed by Dance Division students. All the performances were live examples to the modern dance that Nathan Andary talked about in the class. There were six performances and each performance show a different way of moving the body. The dance concert represented variety ways of presenting vocabulary by the body movement and people's emotional expressions
The Flamenco dance performance I went to watch took place in a restaurant located inside Hotel Albuquerque. The restaurant has a very unique setting. The people can enjoy amazing flamenco dance performances while also have great Mexican food. The restaurant was fairly dark focusing all to the bright and colorful stage. There were total of five performers; the dancers were Tacha, Bailaoresevarez Encinias, & Giovanna Hinojos, the vocalist was Vicente Griego and the Guitarist was Calvin Hazen. The Flamenco
Marina Suh Dr. Hontos MUS 110 Mozart in Dance I attended a concert on October 14th at the Granada, put on by Santa Barbara Symphony, the Symphony Chorus, and State Street Ballet. The performance was titled “Mozart in Dance”. They first performed Mozart’s symphony no. 41, Jupiter. Next, including vocals and dance, was Mozart’s final musical piece, Requiem K. 626. Both are from the classical era. Overall, this was a great concert that used originality to add to the already present grandeur of
us, and puts us in a better mood. For which on Monday, February 29, 2016, I went to see the Skyline Jazz Ensembles to lighten up my mood. The event took place at Yoshi’s in Oakland, California. There were different styles of musical performances presented, they presented several combos and small ensembles highlighting student arrangements and compositions. The event started with the tune
Live concert analytical paper For this class assignment, we were required to go to some type of music concert and write a four to five page analytical paper on the experience. I chose a concert for someone who was on tour who I already knew and liked his style of music. The person who was heading the tour was a performer who goes by the name SoMo. He performs his own original songs as well as doing covers of other people’s music, which he posts to his channel on youtube. His style or genre of music
Out-of-Class Concert I attended my first classical music concert on October 19, 2017. This concert was the University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s Opening Night. The performers were the University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra with a Clarinet Soloist – Blake McGee. It was directed by Dr. Michael Griffith. Our class had previously heard about this particular concert, so I knew what to expect as far a music pieces being played but I have always preferred to have the program in front of me. For
I attended a concert on April 2016 and several other old school concerts at the Queen Mary, front row VIP area which included; Debbie deb, Cover girls, Vanilla ice and so on. Going to an old school/hip-hop concert the songs and experiences as a whole are different with every time. New school hip-hop is narrative and with this you can receive the same lyrical experience every time, as for the concert the experience is the same as the next. I am not saying that an old school concert isn’t different
