  • Car Accident

Cars are one of the most preferred and luxurious modes of land transport. However, people are often prone to have car accidents on the road. Car accidents don’t just damage the car but can also lead to serious injuries and even fatality. According to statistics, over 37,000 people die every year in the US due to car crashes. Some of the major reasons for car accidents are over speeding, distracted driving, ignoring traffic rules, drunk driving, and mistakes in judgement while driving. On rare occasions, weather conditions such as snowstorms, incessant rainfalls, or fog can affect the visibility of the driver, leading car mishaps.

    Car Safety Features

After analyzing various car crashes, the automotive industry has put forth some preventive measures in the design of the car that could save lives in the event of an accident. Seatbelts are the most common safety feature found in the design of every car. They protect passengers from being hurled out of the car in the event of a collision. But sadly, many drivers die as they ignore the importance of wearing a seatbelt. Another safety feature in cars is the airbag that opens out when an accident occurs. The purpose of the airbag is to cushion the impact of the passenger being thrusted into the interiors of the car. It helps in minimizing the injuries to the passengers. Another basic safety feature are the rearview mirrors on the sides as well as the center of the car. These mirrors show the vehicles behind the car and make them appear closer than they actually are. These help the driver with their driving judgement. Unlike seatbelts and airbags that protect passengers during a car accident, rear view mirrors help in preventing accidents from happening in the first place.
