The product I am going to design and develop is a brand extension of REEBOK. I am going to design and develop a REEBOK. Mini-disc player. It will aim at 18-26 year olds. I have chosen this certain age group because of the research carried out. From my research I can conclude that the age groups are interested in owning a mini disk player because of many reasons e.g. style, size, price etc.
I have chosen REEBOK. because they are quite popular among the target market I have chosen to aim. REEBOK are among one the well known brands in the world, shortly after NIKE. Consumers are interested to REEBOK products because of their designs, quality and logs. Reeboks prices tend to be a little cheaper then their main competitors Nike, Adidas and Puma. You can see this from the research table below:
LOGO PRICE
Reebok £25-£56
Nike £46-£150
Puma £28- £60
Adidas £35-£55
We can clearly see that Reebok set a price just below the main competitors, this is because they know consumers will want to buy products but still at a cheaper price and still have the satisfaction of buying a good brand name product.
Brief history on Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. Therefore, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes.
In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle. In 1979, Paul Fireman, a partner in an outdoor sporting goods distributorship, spotted Reebok® shoes at an international trade show. He negotiated for the North American distribution license and introduced three running shoes in the U.S. that year. At $60, they were the most expensive running shoes on the market.
By 1981, Reebok's sales exceeded $1.5 million, but a dramatic move was planned for the next year. Reebok would introduce the first athletic shoe designed especially for women; a shoe for a hot new fitness exercise called aerobic dance.
The shoe was called the Freestyle™, and with it Reebok anticipated and encouraged three major trends that transformed...

...to try and compete with these two companies there are a number of ways this could happen The factor of Place is not on such a large scale, the outlet is the shop and although products may be offered by post most of the transactions will take place at the shop. However, the customers must in a position in which to offer its services well and easily access the shop. For example, there must be plenty of car parking near by so that the customers can easily access the shop, it should be available to as many customers as possible.
The different sorts of sales promotion are I could come up with, if I feel my product is not doing well are :
1. Buy one get one free - this can also be buy one and get something else free.
2. Discounts.- where products are reduced in an effort to sell more.
3. Competitions - used to get people interested in he shop and products.
4. Free gifts – another way to pursued people to buy products.
5. Product trials – allows people to try the products before they buy.
6. Point of sale displays – special displays to promote the products and gain customer awareness.
Here is a detailed map of where I am going to place my MD for sale.

Nike gave Jordan’s line of shoes their own logo, which was never done before in any of Nike’s basketball efforts. The first released Jordans, the Air Jordans I, was designed by Peter Moore. This shoe included the famous Nike swoosh. The Air Jordan I was design looked familiar to many shoes that were also released in 1980 like the Air Force I, Terminator and Dunk. Although the Air Jordan I was not the first colored shoe, it did pave the way for more colorful shoes to be released. In a 1985 NBA game, Michael Jordan wore the Air Jordan I, which was selling for $65, at the time those were the most expensive shoes on shelves. The Air Jordan I black/red was banned from the NBA because most basketball shoes were a solid white. For every game Jordan decided to break the rules, and wear the banned shoes, he was fined $5,000. Nike was happy to pay the bill though, since it raised gossip of the shoe.
While the definition of a sport may vary by the person, the dictionary definition for a sport can be best described as, “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment” (Oxford Dictionary). Cheerleading has been a topic of an ongoing controversial debate as to whether or not it should be recognized as a sport. Players that engage in sports, such as, football, basketball, and baseball all display a genuine liking for their sport, which generally emphasizes why they take part in the activity. Similarly, cheerleaders have this same mindset, but society tends to overlook their passion through the generation of the argument that cheerleading does not require
When it comes to the topic of whether cheerleading is a sport, some of us will readily agree that it is. Where the agreement usually ends, however, is on the question whether cheerleading is a sport or not. Whereas many are convinced that it isn’t a sport, other maintains that it is a sport because cheerleaders are athletes, they need to train and be in shape in order to be able to do all the complex maneuvers safely. I agree that cheerleading is a sport because cheerleaders compete against other teams and competition is part of every sport.
Has anybody here ever walked into a shoe store looking for a running shoe? You were probably dazed and confused because there were just so many different brands and styles to choose from. Now a days, shoe stores stock their running sections with different brands and styles. If you are one of those people who has not been shoe shopping in years, then prepared to be shocked. Technology and designs of running shoes have changed drastically. Running shoes are better than ever now, due to these changes. Also, with all the different name brands such as Asics, Brooks, New Balance, Nike and others, you can assure yourself your are paying for a quality product.
Nike’s goal is to remain unique and different from others in terms of the items offered on the market. Arguably, Nike belongs to a monopolistically competitive market as there only a few organizations with the ability to regulate the amount charged for their product which means they cannot make their prices high as this is likely to make customers move on to other available choices (Nike, Inc., 2012). However, Nike can find a balance between the prices to charge for their products and remaining competitive with other companies in the industry. Nike has formed a distinction between the appearance and performance of their footwear and that of their competitors. Although products are differentiated from other companies, they still influence each other because they are items of the same
What is a sport? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a sport is a "physical activity engaged in for pleasure"(www.merriam-webster.com). Does Cheerleading not fit that definition? Cheerleading is a physically demanding sport, that deserves to be recognized as such. People generally do not realize the difficulty of cheerleading, and how much effort and dedication actually goes into it. Cheerleaders practice as hard, if not harder than other sports to better themselves as athletes and a team as a whole. Not only is cheer a sport, it is a dangerous sport, just like any other athletic program. As a varsity athlete, and assistant cheer coach, I see every day the reasons why cheer should be considered
Cheerleading has the tenth highest concussion rate out of the twenty most common sports. The issue with classifying cheerleading a sport is that not everyone believes it is; Most people believe that all cheerleaders do is cheer on the football team, dance around with pom-poms and get everyone hyped up at sports games, but it's not. Cheerleading goes way beyond what others outside of the activity believe it to be. Cheerleaders not only practice and work as hard as any other sport such as football, but they also have the same injury rate as football. If cheerleading was to be classified as a sport in schools and colleges then that would mean they would have a designated place to practice instead of
The definition of a sport is “an athletic involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or other for entertainment.” (google.com). Modern cheerleaders practice couple times a week. In the article Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, “The various lifts, throws, catches, tumbling runs, and jumps that comprise most performance routines require a high degree of athletic skill. Cheerleading is no longer a spontaneous activity; it involves tryouts, lengthy practices, and specialized training camps similar to ...
The sport of basketball places significant and spontaneous forces on the feet, ankles, and lower leg of the participants. Their shoes must be able to absorb and this pressure to prevent the participant from getting seriously injured. The basketball shoe frenzy began with the "one- design" era of the Converse All-Star "Chuck Taylor" basketball sneakers in 1917. The Converse's (or Chuck Taylor's) construction was a rubber sole and canvas upper. It was specifically designed to be an "elite sneaker" for professional basketball leagues. The only choices that consumers had between the shoe's designs were a high-cut model or a low-cut model. It was a pretty basic sneaker that came in an array of colors. Today, basketball shoes are high tech advancements of participant performance, as well as a fashion accessory. Basketball shoes have swept beyond the basketball world and penetrated the world on a large scale, but its purpose of "protecting players" remains the same.
Adidas started in 1900 by Adi Dassler. Adi and his brother Rudolf were making adidas and they split the company and he made adidas and his older brother Rudolf went and made puma. The company was going to be called Addas. Over the years they have grown a lot. Adidas is a corporation, “that designs and manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and the second largest in the world.”
Promotion. Finally comes promotion - informing the customer on the qualities and advantages of the product so that the potential buyer learns about the product, prefers it to those of the competitors, and has an opportunity to buy it at some place.
Beep, the buzzer has gone off, now all eyes are on you. You and your teammates pull all the tricks you know. One girl is being lifted by three others, standing on one leg high in the air. Another is hurling her body through the air flipping across the ground; a thud is heard every time her hands or feet meet the floor. You have a large megaphone in your hands and you are yelling through it with everything you have. This is cheerleading. It is a place to compete, but there is also a place on the sidelines. It is a place for friendship and teamwork. Cheerleading of yesterday is nothing like cheerleading today. Cheerleading may not have started as a sport, but now it has grown into a full-fledged sport that is enjoyed by many.
It’s because when I sport the Nike swoosh, I feel as if I representing the Nike brand and the beautiful, driven, fit women I see in their advertisements. Feeling this way gives me the inspiration and confidence to play my best. I feel as if I identify with the women in the advertisements by wearing Nike. “The relationship between persons and the product remains one of the most crucial signifiers within advertisements. Persons in advertisements supply the consumer with a certain identification frame—whether the person is presented as a user or is presented within a lifestyle setting, the viewer is invited to identify him/herself with the presented person.” 202 Brand Culture. The Nike brand does a great job at doing this to their consumers to create brand loyalty. Nike brand users, just like myself, see the athletes using the brands and feel a certain connection to them. Brand loyalty should not only be a goal for brands because of the benefit of having their logo advertised on consumers who fit within their target market, but also for PRICE SOMETHING ECONOMY
Morrie teaches people that you need to accept death to live life to the fullest. Morrie thinks we are all going to die someday but we don't know when . “ Everyone knows they’re going to die but nobody believes it , if we did we would do things differently “ ( Albom 81 ). My opinion on this topic is that death is a pretty hard topic to talk about that's why many people do not accept it . Specially if one knows they are about to die then they reflect about everything. In my case i wanted to say a goodbye to my grandpa before he passed away but it was too late. i should've called him more often and told him how much i appreciated him and how much i care about him.
According to Simon, though some of these laws work better for just the prostitution aspect and not the human trafficking. This is proven in a graph that shows the summary statistics of sex trafficking, human trafficking, prostitution and more. In this graph, you can see “the min ST is .29 and .75 for HT when PL is just 1 while with 4 PL ST is 65.98 and HT is at 141.80” (Hedlin). So, with this compromise two organizations with two goals that seem would never work together would actually come together and promote the kind of pro-human rights agenda that they are both truly going for. Amnesty International would help to promote the right of those who willing choose sex work and their safety while TFHT would be able to help out those who are forced into prostitution. They would both provide some give and take on a topic in which they would never have seen eye to eye on. In the end making it a world for the rights of all human
