A sharing economy is taking every single good produced and getting every last bit of service out of it to ensure nothing goes to waste. Companies such as AirBnB, thredUP, Peerby, and RelayRides, use elements of a sharing economy to encourage consumers to be more resourceful with what they buy to protect our planet. These companies are hoping that many consumers will see that sacrificing a little bit of cash and convenience to save some resources and in extension the planet. Unfortunately in the present cultural of life and luxury I believe the vast majority of consumers are not ready to make such sacrifices. While good at heart, these companies are not nearly as prepared for the average consumers needs in the current economy and culture.
AirBnb is a worldwide company that allows people to rent rooms and houses from other people for vacation instead of renting a room from a hotel. Of all the companies mentioned, this is by far my favorite idea and favorite company. When traveling, even the best of hotels are still not as cozy or comfortable as an actual house. AirBnb allows consumers the option to continue living in an actual house instead of a cheap motel room. On the other end of the program, people with open rooms or vacation homes can turn these open rooms or houses into a little bit of cash. The only downside is a slight lack of convenience for the consumer because while on vacation tourists like to visit all of popular vacation hotspots, and houses are generally further away from these locations than hotels. Still despite this relatively minor drawback, AirBnb is a fantastic company with massive upsides both economically and environmentally.
ThredUP is another fantastic company that has both good morals and a good idea, but...

...eat benefits and livable wages. If an employer sponsored the goods and services of AirBnB, thredUP, Peerby, or RelayRides, I would assume the company cares very much for their employees and I would be more than happy to work for the company even if I do not intend on using all of the services and goods.
AirBnB, thredUP, Peerby, and RelayRides are all very solid companies that are trying to make the first steps towards making America’s economy more sustainable. Most of these companies do require some level of sacrifice on the consumer but these sacrifices tend to be minimal. All of these companies focus on efficiency, namely getting the most out of every single good that we produce. In some ways these companies succeed and they also fail in some categories but all of these companies are making very important steps towards the betterment of our economy and our world.
• A socially responsible Techfite, will be viewed by Dellberg as a company that is good for their community. Techfite will have the support of the city and have a good reputation, making recruiting and retaining employees far easier. In his work, “Overselling capitalism,” Benjamin Barber speaks on capitalism’s shift from filling the needs of the consumer, to creating needs. He tells how it has become easier for people to borrow money, so that they no longer get as much satisfaction from affording necessities. He says capitalism can be good when both sides benefit, but it has overgrown and must continue creating needs, even though the only people who can afford these needs don’t have any. According to Barber, people are still working hard, but them and their children are becoming seduced by unneeded shopping. He states that people are becoming more needy, and losing discipline in their lifestyle. Additionally capitalism must encourage easy and addicting shopping to
The three companies chosen for this evaluation range from a foundation whose entire existence is based on helping people to a corporation who is basically a monopoly for power in several U.S. states and whose #1 goal is profit.
As it is a boot making company, there have a lot of greenhouse gases, and they do really care about their grants to the problem.
With forward movement in society, it is important to consider not just what will propel most toward success, but also what will help to sustain the environment along the way. What may have been considered appropriate decades ago, may no longer be socially acceptable due to the changes observed in both the business world and the environment (Fiske, 2010). Therefore, it is important for organizations thriving in today?s economy to consider how they may capitalize most effectively from their product or service of choice while minimizing or eliminating any damages along the way (Knoke, 2012).
After reading the novel, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, I think the whole book shows a feminist dystopia, which is different from the radical feminists. Since the balance of power between men and women is the biggest theme in this novel, Atwood powerfully criticizes the patriarchal society through depicting the suffering of Handmaids. In this society, women in the lower class are deprived of their social status, totally becoming the baby-making tools for the upper class male. Also, they are deprived of all their possessions and their human rights, even their emotions as human beings. In Atwood’s novel, the author shows us a great concern of the social prejudice against women. Because of the balance of power between men and women in this society, women are given their own function: Handmaids are baby-making tools; Wives are used for ceremonial purposes only, and Jezebels are prostitutes and entertainers, available only to the upper class men and their guests.
Walt Disney World is trademarked for being the “Happiest Place on Earth”, and attracts millions of people each year from all around the world. With 10,000 guests an hour visiting Walt Disney World, parks reach their carrying capacity of 100,000, within the 43 square miles of Disney property, almost all of the days that it is open year round (“Walt Disney World”). With this much land and this number of people coming and going from the property each day, one may be to believe that The Walt Disney Company has their eye on one thing and one thing only - Money. Although this may seem to be a reasonable assumption, Walt Disney World, along with the entire Walt Disney Company, is paving the way to a sustainable company in new environmentally friendly
Each year, America’s travel and tourism industry generates approximately $1.5 trillion dollars in economic output, or about 2.6% of the country’s gross domestic product (Select USA, 2016). Nearly 20% of this economic activity is directly related to accommodations, which serve the short term lodging needs of pleasure and business travelers. Unlike other American economic sectors, this lodging industry is a highly fragmented, diversified market with an incredible variety of suppliers. Temporary overnight lodging can range from undeveloped campsites, hostels, and capsule hotels all the way up to mansions and incredibly luxurious five store hotels. Price ranges run the gamut from just a few dollars a night to thousands of

Anne Boleyn goes down in history as an important icon whereas in Wolf hall she seems weird and mysterious. When she becomes a queen, she was a vital, charismatic leader with audacity. When Anne become queen, her family was already well known: her father was Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire and her mother was lady Elizabeth Howard. History portrays Anne as a remarkable character who may have been an adulteress but not guilty of anything. She was also viewed as an enigmatic figure in history, and truly had tremendous achievements in her life. She was presented as the second wife of King Henry VIII, though she tended to mislead the king. There is no denying that Anne Boleyn is the most mysterious and misunderstood individual in the six wives of Henry VIII that later cost her life. Anne Boleyn, though she goes down in history as an adulteress, she is definitely a powerful and mysterious woman, as seen in Wolf Hall.
Vacation rental websites are growing in popularity among travelers all over the world as they seek out cheaper alternatives to hotels. Property owners also gain a new source of income. The Chinese vacation rental market is in its infancy relative to other developed markets such as US. However, the Chinese market is crowded for this crowd-sourced short-term lodging in citizens ' homes and apartments as more than 10 rental websites already operating in the region. The sharing economy has gained trust through the years and without a doubt, it has been adopted globally. As for its weaknesses, perhaps, there is still a solution. One thing is clear, though. There is no stopping change and technology will continue to evolve. What the people need to do is to study the advantage and disadvantage of the sharing economy and decide where and when to apply it. In time, things will be better for the people and the economy. As of today though people all over the world are experiencing and benefiting from the sharing economy which most of us have heard and may be even part of
Access economy rise many concerns about security of its services, but it is not clear if this concerns come directly from new platforms or they are transferred from other industries. Every sharing process requires some level of trust, because of information asymmetry. (Cohen 2015) For instance landlord that use Airbnb might not know the intentions of the guests, just as a guests might not know the quality of accommodation provided. Many platforms are trying to overcome this issue by implementation of ratings and feedback systems, which is often referred as sharing economy self-regulation.
