Description of the Performer
The push up is a skill that has been used in many fitness tests that are used in many educational settings. In these tests the skill is allows the same technique. The performer will do one push up without any corrects or demonstration prior to performance. The performer is capable of doing a traditional push up. The performer is 21 years of age. The performer would be listed as physical fit in many of the fitness test. The learner is a high stage of development due to training for sports through out student’s life. She would also fall into the average standard deviation in reference to other female college students. (Mozumdar, Liguori, Baumgartner, 2010)

Body Orientation related to Preparation
In the preparation stage of a push up, hand placement is important. A performers hand placement should be shoulder width. (Baechle, Earle, 2008) By placing the hands in this position it will create the motion that will occur. The body of the performer should be in a straight line. (Hamilton, Weimar, Luttgens, 2012) This line should extend from head to the performers heels. (Hamilton, Weimar, Luttgens, 2012) The performer should keep their core tight and contracted during the exercise to keep from having any sag or hump in the hips or spine. (Hamilton, Weimar, Luttgens, 2012) By keeping ones elbows inward or close to the body it cuts down on the external rotation. (Suprak, Bohannon, Morales, Stroschein, San Juan, 2013) Extra external shoulder rotation may contribute to shoulder impingement. (Suprak, Bohannon, Morales, Stroschein, San Juan, 2013) The performers arms should be fully extend with weight on the hands.
