Yosemite 4:00 a.m.my brother’s screaming at me to wake up. I get up scared shitless not knowing why he was screaming, having forgotten where we were going this morning. I got out of my bed throwing my blanket across the room. I got dressed, brushed my teeth and went to the kitchen. I looked at the clock. 4:30 a.m. My aunts and uncles started to arrive at my house. The phone rang and it was my uncle calling to tell us that he wasn’t going to be able to go and to not wait on him. So we started to load up the trucks with food and supplies. It was now 5:00 a.m. and we were ready to go. We headed to yosemite a three and a half hour drive. I brought my phone and my portable charger …show more content…
So yea, good call again by me We got to the entrance and we paid but what we found out was that there was senior discount and two of my aunts didn’t have to pay because they had my grandma and grandpa with them. My dad started to dive again and we were going fin for a while till my uncle pulled over because he was feeling a bit dizzy with all the turns. Me and my cousin went out to explore where we've stopped. We made it a challenge to see who could find the coolest thing out in the forest. I was looking for some snow because I knew there had to be some around. Last time I went to yosemite there was snow and it was in the middle of june. We were in june when we went this time around so I already Knew what to look for. I met up with my cousin back at the trucks. I Looked at what he had brought back and he had no chance of beating me. He had brought back Some rocks but he dropped those when he saw what i had. My hand were really freezing and I had to get the snow out of my hand so I gave it to the nearest person to me. Everyone wanted to hold some so I told me dad to go where we went last year were there was a lot of snow. Unfortunately we couldn’t go go because it was closed of because there was still ice on the road up there. So we set out to find some place to
Then I remembered that I had to deliver the paper. As usual, I would skim through the paper. I was so surprised so many people already died. Everyone was calling it the great war. So I wake my mother up and tell her that we have to take care of the house and farm.
First I was looking for snow. It was really exciting because it looked really tempting to jump on it and it will explode. But at first, I wasn’t really excited because it was so cold inside the
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
It was a bone-chilling winter morning in Bavaria. My alarm clock rang, and I slapped it to snooze. Oh no, I was not getting up that day. I had just finished the worst school week of my life. If we zoom back to that time two years ago, I was a 14 year old foreign exchange student in southern Germany.
We jumped in the truck and drove up to the highway. We were on the highway about thirty seconds before we turned off to the place we wanted to go. The place was called "The Brooklands." The road was dirt with spots of snow and ice. After we started driving up the steep road, I noticed that we h...
My dad was dropping me off at daycare. As I walked excitedly to the door, with my nail polish case in hand, my little foot caught on the cement walkway. The next thing I remember is hitting the cold, hard cement, my nail polish container, still in hand, falling to the ground with me. As I laid there, my dad, walking behind me, scooped me up. Kneeling down in front of me, he looked at me and told me to brush it off. I can remember the tears welling up in my eyes, my knees and hands throbbing, and the sound of broken nail polish bottles against the side of the container, the nail polish dripping onto the walkway. The one thing I remember all too clearly is dad saying, “Hatterick’s don’t cry!” So, I didn’t cry, not in front of dad.
Saturday, 5th of June, 5:30p.m. There’s about 30 minutes left until I arrive at Yosemite. Today went fast for me. Perhaps it’s because I was so occupied, and barely looked at the time all day. I have finally arrived at the park, so I head to book a hotel room.
It was July 22nd when I got the phone call that my great grandma was in the hospital. It was so shocking to me I didn’t even know what to think I had just been up there to see her two days ago prior to then. My dad had called me and told me in a calm but of course I know my dad to well to know that he was calm but actually pretty scared and frantic. I was at work and a perk to my job is that I work at a family owned business that is actually close to my family.
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
My father's eyes opened, and he called out for my sister Kelly and I to come to him. In a very serious and sad voice, he told us that he was very sick, and he was going to the Fort Wayne hospital. My mother told Kelly and I to help her pack some things for him, because he was going to be leaving soon. We helped her pack, keeping quiet because we did not want to interrupt the silence that had taken over the room.
I stumbled, trying to get back footing, but it was too late. I fell and tumbled down the mountain for what felt like a lifetime in the soft snow that began to feel very warm on my snowsuit as I rolled. When I landed, I couldn't move because I was so shocked about what had just happened. All of a sudden, I started to feel my wrist swell up. I tried to choke down the tears, but I couldn't.
The adventure began with a cold winter morning in florid, Uncle Bob and I decided to head out to his secret spot, the dive site was roughly 100ft and a Spanish Galleon laid rest. My dad dropped me off at the boat dock where I met up with Uncle Bob. We did a gear check to make sure we had everything to complete our dive. After the gear check, we headed out, after a couple
My dad and sister watched television, my mom crocheted, and I worked on my Kinderbuch for German class. As usual, everyone but me fell asleep. At 10:30, we packed all of our things into the back of the Tahoe and pulled around to he front to return the keys.
It was Friday morning and I was in the 5th grade at the time. My father decided to pull both me and my brother out of school. My mother wasn’t home. She had already gone up to the hospital with my grandmother.
I woke up around one o’clock thinking it was nine in the morning. I quickly rose out of bed to see if my roommate was awake. He was passed out from staying up late the night before and it was obvious that he was still exhausted. I proceeded to do my usual morning routine, although it was the afternoon. I came
