I have been to a place that has lots of interesting snow and others. It is Lake Tahoe. It is a place that I will never get bored of that it has a lot of snow! Mostly you could do anything with snow. But most of all, beating your older brother up in a snowball fight. I really loved when each time I went down the big mountain. It was really amazing. I was also really happy of building snowmen and building snow forts that I never even knew I can build. It was amazing for all of what could be crafted with snow. The fantastic trip has come to the start!
First I was looking for snow. It was really exciting because it looked really tempting to jump on it and it will explode. But at first, I wasn’t really excited because it was so cold inside the
car. But when we finally found snow, I stepped outside and it wasn’t cold at all! I have forgotten that I wore so much layers. I shaped a snowball and threw it at my brother and the war began I said at him. I was building snow forts that I never even knew I could build! I kept on reinforcing my walls which took so much time to do. But once I had so much fun with it, I forgot that what the point of the game was. so at once i had like 7 snow balls chucked at me! I knew this was the end in my mind but my wall was to strong, it was pretty high. But until the end I had to go, but I still got the last hit. The one to win the game! I had so much excitement I will never forget! Skiing on snow was exciting. But most of all I loved going up and down the mountain. When I took the route to go up high, I was scared because it took me to higher level which meant higher grounds! When I finally reached the top I looked straight down, it was like a nightmare. I felt like regretting to come here. It looked like I was going to do a somersault and land on my back and get surgery. But when I went down I had no problem. Just to relax and feel the wind pushing me. I loved the part where when you were going down pretty fast, it felt like I was racing! I ended up never stopping going down the mountain! It was excellent to see the the fast motion going down hill scene! In conclusion, I will never forget Lake Tahoe because it is the most wonderful place to have a lot of fun. With the excitement of throwing snowballs and going down really fast down the hill. I will never forget what I’ve done in Lake Tahoe.
Zig-zag, back and forth, down, down, down, Jonathon, Dad, and I went into a mysterious new world. Now that I have gone into this hot, dry canyon surrounded by monstrous hoodoos, I have seen what it is really like to leave the small town of Seymour, and emerge into the greatness of this world. I have now seen several other National Parks on one of the most renowned places on earth for mysterious creations, the Colorado Plateau. Of all the beautiful places on it, even the Grand Canyon, I have found my favorite one. Bryce Canyon National Park. I thought it was amazing, because it was the most diverse to anything I have ever seen before. We hiked down into it and I felt like I was surrounded by skyscrapers. We trekked around a little, but we didn’t
It was going to be the time of our lives. Four buddies of mine and I went out to Jackson, Wyoming to do some of the best snowboarding of our lives. It was our chance to get away from home for a week and have the best time of our lives. The trip out there was extremely boring driving through Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Possibly the three most boring states in the country.
Have you ever looked off a gigantic cliff? Now imagine traveling 30 miles per hour on a bike with curvy roads with enormous cliffs on your side with no rails. This is exactly what I did with my family when we went to Colorado. From the hotel we drove to a bike tour place to take us to the summit of Pikes Peak. After we arrived at the building we saw pictures of how massive the cliffs were, but what terrified me was the fact they had no side rails. This observation was thrilling as well as terrifying. It was an odd mix of emotions, but I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me. My dad whispered to me, “ This will be absolutely horrifying”.
I wonder if I should I start calling Las Vegas, Nevada home now. I’ve traveled back and forth from California to Las Vegas since I was a child. I can remember at the age of thirteen my family and I would take family weekend trips very often. By the age of seventeen I was forced to move to Vegas for 6 months right before my senior year of high school started. Since it was my last year of high school my parents decided to let me go back to California for the last three months and graduate with my friends. Since I wasn’t eighteen yet, I forced to go back to Las Vegas right the day after graduation.
...costing, hot weather, regular, lay on the beach vacation, I suggest taking a trip to Key West, Florida, but for those outdoor types, like myself, who want to experience one of the most breathtaking places in the world and literally sit above the clouds, a vacation getaway to Denali National Park in Alaska is your cup of tea. The colder weather in Alaska was not as bad as I had thought it to be. Common snow clothes were suitable outdoors clothing for the time of the year I went and regular camping supplies worked out for me during my stay. Denali National Park is hands down the most beautiful place in America and is worth every penny it costs you to travel there and experience nature in its purity. It was a life altering experience climbing mountains high above the clouds and seeing how truly magnificent and compelling the earth must have looked thousands of years ago.
The mountains were tall (11,000 feet +) and covered with bright powdery snow. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I was eager to set-up camp and prepare for our nine day hunt. But, Dad said that we had to drive around and check out all the good places, just to make sure that we were in the best area. This was partially understandable, but since I am a teenager I'm not supposed to understand anything! So, we spent another several hours driving. We went up and down through the mountains and then we saw it. The spot was beautiful; it was right on the edge of a vertical drop-off, over looking everything. It was like paradise, but colder!
I can still remember the first time I went downhill skiing. It was a cold and dry November day. It hadn't been snowing much at the time, so most of the snow on the hills was that slick, jet blown, artificial-ice/pseudo-snow. Not exactly what a first timer likes to start on.My friend Michael had been trying to talk me into going on a skiing trip with him and the local Boy Scout troop for some time.
My youth pastor pulled out of our church parking lot at three am in the morning loaded down with a bus full of twenty four teenagers including me. We were off at last head to Colorado Spring Colorado, little did I know, our bus was going to fall apart this very day.
A couple of years ago during one of those, on a whim after spending a few days in Arches National Park, my wife and I detoured to the snowy, icy south rim of the Grand Canyon. We journeyed toward it from the east side but got turned back at the National Parks’ gate; the road was snowed under from there on up. After retracing our steps, we traveled down to Flagstaff and spent the night, driving in my four by four truck up to the South Rim the next day. It was an eerie experience to stand on the edge of the South Rim and see only cloud; fog shrouded the canyon’s great gap, leaving us with visual doubts that anything was really there. Defeated, we hit the Visitor’s Center and gathered information so we could go back sometime in the spring or fall with weather more to our liking.
It’s not only about the cold weather and land covered with white sheets of snow. The article is more about the joy and the beauty of nature. It also elaborates the warm feeling of dwellers that, how they welcome winter and celebrate it. Darcy Nybo portrays the beauty of mountains covered with white snow. She also wrote about the places to celebrate winter events for kids, friends, and families in Kelowna.
There is a distinct moment of acute awareness when a person has an epiphany; a revelation that all the hardships, all the suffering they’ve endured amount to something. I had this moment late afternoon on July 18, 2016. In my modest red canoe, at the mouth of The James Bay, I felt pure recognition.
If the s’mores don’t fill you up enough you can always got to the Sno Deck and grab your favorite snacks. It would be so fun to play in the fluffy white snow for a whole day with your closest friends. Overall, Snow mountain would be the perfect place to visit in view of not having much snow yearly.
When I saw the snow, I had so many feelings inside of me. I could barely speak or breathe. I was feeling so excited about the snow that I had to jump around the house and scream. While I was getting out of bed, I had so much energy! I was extremely energetic and the only way to let it out was to get out and have lots of snow day fun! When I started to get on my warm winter gear, I was curious about what I was going to do when I got outside? Man I can barely wait to start this day! I feel like I might explode with all the amazing things I can do today.
There are many places that I hold dear to my heart such as going up to the mountains to visit my grandma or going down to the Russian River and swimming in the freezing cold green river, or camping on the beach. But there is one particular place that stands out in my memory of adventuring as a child. We have gone to Mount Shasta during the times of snow and during times of intense heat which allowed me to experience both of the climates. I have been going there, to McCloud, which is North of Mt. Shasta, with family friends and with my family. In the center of a desert lies a rustic cabin with 3 bedrooms and a nice fireplace to cook marshmallows on and across down a steep hill is where the water gathers.
One of the most enjoyable things in life are road trips, particularly to the Colorado mountains. Getting to spend time with your family and friends, while being in a beautiful place, is irreplaceable. The fifteen-hour road trip may feel never-ending, but gazing at the mountains from afar makes life’s problems seem a little smaller and causes worries to become a thing of the past. Coming in contact with nature, untouched, is a surreal experience. My family trip to the Colorado mountains last summer was inspiring.
