“Ring, click.” You heard that right, that was the sound of sadness. That alarm means only one thing it is Monday! The first day of the week which means I have five days of school sigh, but wait what is that outside? I can barely see, but I can tell it’s white outside, wait what is that? It's snowing! “We are going to have a snow day!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I ran through my house! When I saw the snow, I had so many feelings inside of me. I could barely speak or breathe. I was feeling so excited about the snow that I had to jump around the house and scream. While I was getting out of bed, I had so much energy! I was extremely energetic and the only way to let it out was to get out and have lots of snow day fun! When I started to get on my warm winter gear, I was curious about what I was going to do when I got outside? Man I can barely wait to start this day! I feel like I might explode with all the amazing things I can do today. Ah, the cold air blowing on my skin, the soft packed …show more content…
When I came inside I was so cold that I felt like a ice cube so my mom made me some hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was steaming hot! I had to wait for 8 mins, but it was worth it because it was so tasty and warm. My mom then told me that dinner was done. When I had smelt the delicious dinner mom made, my stomach had roared with hunger and I swear everyone heard it. We had a giant turkey, some mashed potatoes, and mac cheese it was the perfect family dinner, so delicious. When dinner was done, my mom said I had to lay down for school tomorrow so I leaped in my warm, cozy bed and put the covers over me and my mom said “Goodnight.” Man, today just seemed to fly by so quickly with all the excitement I had. As i drifted off to sleep all i could think about was how much fun my day was and I wish every week we had a snow
I was born and raised on snowmobiles. I remember times when I would fall asleep in front of my parents and, being able to ride by myself when I was 5 till now. All the trips my family has been on in four states and we are talking about going to the mountains this year. Being able to ride around here with all my friends see who can go the biggest jump.
Characteristic calamities truly are very normal over the globe. There are of various types generally Earthquakes , Volcanic Eruptions and Snow storms. In light of the climatic conditions in my general vicinity Snow storms are inclined to be happened oftentimes. The primary Natural calamity in the whole Central America is a snow storm. Indeed there is a possibility of event of tremors. Anyway by watching the atmosphere from past decades there is a less risk of event of seismic tremors. Despite the fact that such seismic tremors happen the force that is recorded is low. Fortunately there are no volcanoes in the range. So there is no statement for the volcanic ejections to happen. Be that as it may there is an alternate debacle which is having an opportunity to happen is a Tornado. All the individuals living in the specific group must be given legitimate directions on the sort of fiascos that are happened and the mind that ought to be taken while the event of such exceptionally risky episodes in the true worls.
I woke up Tuesday morning excited for the day I was going to spend with my mom. I was sitting at the kitchen table drinking fresh coffee listening to my mom and aunt tease and joke around about how paranoid my mom was about doing well in her classes, my aunt was telling her that maybe now that I was there, she would relax a little bit and have some fun. Our plan was to go to one of mom's classes with her, and then on a tour of UNC and then we were going to go to dinner and a movie.
I live in a place that gets lots of snow each year. In fact it snowed this weekend, so what do I do in a snow storm? During a snow storm I usually stay inside and either read a book or draw by our fireplace. If I am not relaxing I am probably cooking stuff like Oreo balls, cut out cookies, peanut butter balls, and almond bark pretzels. If I am not inside I'm outside in the storm (if it's not too bad) with my sister, brothers, and of course my dog. If the snow is sticky we make the most epic forts, and we have snowball fights. If the snow isn't too fluffy we go sledding. During every snow storm we all have hot chocolate after our day of relaxing, or fun day in the snow.
Snowboarding, one of the hardest snowsport to learn but easy to master, it's also one of the most enjoyable snowsport on the planet. Even though it’s fun, you can really injure yourself if your not careful. In this narrative you’ll witness the pain I had to go through trying to learn snowboarding but also witness me mastering this incredible sport. It was a cool afternoon in the frosty month of January, the time was around 5:30 pm and my dad just dropped me off at Snow Valley hill in his black Mitsubishi Lancer. I took my blueish green Burton Custom snowboard from the back of the car, grabbed my helmet, gloves, jacket and snowpants and went to the bottom of the hill. There I placed my board on the soft snow and put on my gear. I was wearing a blue jacket with dark
yesterday was Wednesday January 20, 2016. Yesterday was a great day. Carter, Cameron, and I decided to hang out at cameron’s house. After we got there we came to the conclusion that we should go and walk on the ice. We figured the ice would be thick enough for us to walk on and boy were we wrong.
The nature disaster that can remember was an ice storm in January 1997. I just had my son one week before the ice storm. The ice storm lasted for about a week. There was ice all over the power line which cause lights to be out all over the city. The lights were off at my home for a week and we had a gas heater in our restroom. The heater kept one room in our home warm as if the central unit was working. I was overwhelmed because I just had a new born son with no heat or hot water for a week. I would place my son can milk on the bathroom counter to keep it at room temperature.
It was cold. I was rocketing through the fine, chalky snow. I was everywhere. If you look to your left, I’m there blasting through a drift. If you look to your right, I’m there steering my snowmobile like a madman. If you look up, I’m there jumping over a ditch. I was intoxicated with the feeling of a rush. I was a 12 year old boy with his head in the clouds.
I don't believe in magic like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. As a fourteen year old it would be a little weird, but the one thing I believe in that gives the holiday season that perfect little twinkle of magic is snow. Snow is like a blank canvas waiting to be imprinted with footprints and played in for hours and hours. Frolicking in the snow makes me feel like the center of the universe, the queen of the world. For this reason I always make time for playing in the snow. Since snow centers me and let's all my worries slip away, snow days are my favorite.
The sounds of the winter snowstorm were echoing throughout the town, from the snowplows in the distance, to the scraping of snow shovels that sounded like fingernails scratching a chalkboard. Neighbors were shoveling snow that had accumulated on their sidewalks and driveways.
Adrenaline races through my veins As I speed down the hill on my trusty old sled. I smell the sweet aroma of homemade hot chocolate With floating marshmallow boats. A smile fills me up as I think: Snow day.
When asking most people his or her favorite season that person will say the basic spring, summer, fall, or winter; however, I think of seasons differently. My seasons consist of track season, from the end of February until April; no school season, from May until July; cross country season, from August until November; and soccer season, from November until the middle of February. My life as a high school athlete revolves around school and sports; therefore, my thinking of seasons also revolves around school and sports. There is an attraction to cross country season unlike any other season; consequently, it is my favorite season. Cross country season: the weather, the team, and the euphoria of winning make this the best time of the year.
...y brother and took the dog out. I jumped into the shower and did a fast wash. I ran to my bedroom to get dressed and took a quick look at the clock. I had plenty of time. I got dressed, and I even changed my shirt twice because I could. I went down for breakfast and the coffee was ready. But, I was alone. My heart started racing. In my hurry to get ready, I did not notice that my mom and brother were not up. “Oh no”, I thought. I dashed to my mom’s room and yelled, “Get Up, Get Up!, you need to hurry or I am going to be late for school.” My mom looked at me and said, “Why are you in such a big rush today, when normally I cannot get you to open your eyes at this time?” I yelled, “Hurry or I am going to be tardy and get suspended.” My mom just smiled and pulled the covers over her head. As she did that, I could just hear her say, “Trace it is Saturday.”
I brush my eyes awake, feeling the cold seeping in from my window. It’s 9 AM and it’s winter in Minnesota. Feeling sleepy, I stand up and go outside. I love the winter air. It always refreshes my mind and there’s just a cold bite to it that I enjoy. Coming back inside, I boot up my computer, hoping to enjoy it a little before heading out. The winter days swim together, phasing throughout my mind, and I fall asleep again, or I have woken up.
As usual I woke up to the sound of my father pounding on my bedroom door, hollering, “Get up! Get on your feet! You’re burning daylight!” I met my brother in the hallway, and we took our time making it down the stairs, still waking up from last night’s sleep. As we made our way to the kitchen, I thought about what to have for breakfast: fried eggs, pancakes, an omelet, or maybe just some cereal. I started to get hungry. As usual, mom and dad were waiting in the kitchen. Mom was ready to cook whatever we could all agree on, and dad was sitting at the table watching the news. The conversation went as usual, “Good morning.” “How are you today?”
