I want to join Year Up Inc. because the program appeals to many of my interest. Their investment operations, career networking, workplace norms, and the introduction to business are some of the specific programs. Year Up is also a way for me to gain entry-level skills in the growing field of technology and skills. Year Up also has a good track record of producing high quality personnel for the corporate world and, truthfully, since it does not cost me financially it is the best route for me to gain financial freedom. I believe I will be a great candidate for Year Up and its programs because of my determination, learning abilities, attitude towards challenges, and my, overall, mindset. My determination and attitude towards challenges go hand …show more content…
I learned patience from my volunteer work that I performed at an M-NCPPC Day Camp. While at this camp I was Leader 3, in this position I organized games and kept the kids under control, and also assisted higher leaders with their group activities. This volunteer work lasted almost all summer. The kids started the camp very calm and listened to everything that I said, but as they became comfortable they soon stopped listening. They camp leaders told me this would happen but let me deal with it on my own. So I had to explain things multiple times and be persistent and more importantly patient. I also now have two nieces, 4 and 2, so they again are an everyday test on my patience. I learned humility from being a Jehovah Witness. As a Jehovah Witness I have the obligation to preach the good news, which is more commonly known as the preaching work/door to door ministry. As you may already know not all people welcome us warmly to their door. Sometimes you get that one door that just acts terrible and as a Jehovah Witness I have to act in a humble matter as not to deface Jehovah and his work. Over my few years of faithful service I haven’t came across a few but watching my mother at these doors has developed my
I want to join Year Up because of the opportunity it provides to receive an education and experience in a professional computer-programming environment that I might not have received otherwise. I believe I am a good candidate for Year Up because of my ability to perform in professional and academic environments alike, as well as a strong desire to succeed in a highly technical field.
I believe that in order to be a part of this program that I need to excel academically and demonstrate the characteristics that NJHS looks for. I should be chosen to be a member of this program because I display the characteristics required to be a part of NJHS. Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character are all things that I show and that I know I have. If I am chosen to be a part of this program, I promise to follow through as best as I can do. I will fulfill my duties as a member of NJHS and help others to the best of my
I have the academic background to be able to perform successfully in this program, and the ambition to do so. Throughout my high school career, I have taken only the most rigorous and demanding classes. As of now, I have a 4.44 weighted academic GPA, and have scored in the 99th percentile for both the SAT and PSAT. I am a very active student in each of my classes, as well as a fast learner. I am an excellent student not only in the classroom, but also in athletics, in my working life, and in
My academic performance excels my grade level. I enjoyed past experiences with speaking in front of others by participating in student council at Brookside Elementary in the 4th and 5th grades. I have had experience updating other students about things that are happening around campus. I will always be on time for our meetings and go to every one. I will always remember to bring my best ideas so that ASB can be a thing others will enjoy. I am a responsible, organized person that likes to contribute my ideas. Some things that I can bring to ASB are a positive outlook on ideas, creative and fun ideas, motivation, quality, leadership and hard work. To be in ASB, I know that you need to respect others and have good communication with my peers. I believe I excel in these two categories, and I will put forth my best effort to make MCMS a better school. I can contribute positive character traits as well as being an example to others. I would be very excited if I could be part of ASB next
In conclusion, I believe that I can offer a wealth of expertise and experience in contributing towards the continued development of a cohesive, dynamic and collaborative school that focuses on offering outstanding world class learning opportunities for all. I consider myself to be a good role model to students and staff alike and I am committed to leading by example. This, combined with my drive, infectious optimism and commitment to playing a full role within the school beyond those duties set out, make me a strong candidate for the post.
After a long summer, the time has finally come for Sam and his classmates to return to school. Sam dreads going back to school, because he knows that the first weeks of school mean long, boring reviews. Despite the fact that Sam and his friends do not like to study topics they have already learned, they need to review because most students forget what they learned over the three-month break period. Many students can relate to Sam, wasting two weeks or more at the beginning of the school year. Parents, teachers, and students across the United States believe a better option exists that will waste less time. Many suggest the idea of a year-round school schedule. Almost all schools should adopt a year-round schedule because of the many advantages including higher academic
There are multiple reasons why a person would go to college, but obtaining a degree is a common goal for most. A degree, students believe, would secure their futures and push them more towards their desired career, but does this imply that they value the degree over the learning process they go through to obtain it? According to Cathy Small in her essay, “My Year as a Freshman: Connections to the Path Ahead,” students are eager to learn in college, but continue to credit their experiences outside school in teaching what is most important. Although their experiences in the “real world” teach these students life skills that can be beneficial to them in the future, they can learn lessons just as valuable in the classroom. The pressure to succeed
Do you think it would be a bummer with no long summer? Well, year round schools take away all that summer fun. Do you really want that? Year round schools are not fun because they take away the sun for everyone. Wouldn’t you rather have more fun, Not lose your jobs or somebody else's, and have a better point of view from your parents. Well, school is already not the way we want to live our lives so let’s have the least of it as we can.
I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
In Joseph Carroll’s article about parent/teen relations he states that “About 65% of teens at the ages of 14-17 don’t “like or get along”, with their parents.” Teenagers this age are going through life changes, and feel as though they know what’s best for them which causes problems in the household. Some teens leave to live on their own before they reach the age of eighteen, to get away from their parents. To leave a household before reaching the age of eighteen you must become emancipated .When it comes to emancipation I believe minors between the ages of 14-17 should be able to emancipate themselves, in doing so because of certain situations that can cause harm to the child physically, mentally, and emotionally.
According to Aristotle, for every virtue there are two vices. One is in excess and the other being deficit. Patience is a deficiency in my life. In having barely any patience, I am often stressed out and make more of simple situations. Aristotle would call this vice impatience. On the other end of the spectrum, the excess of patience is being passive. Aristotle and Plato, it was all about having balance in your life. I believe this theory is still in tact today. What I am striving for is not passivity, it is a moderate amount of patience, not too much and not too little, but just enough to make me more of a moral individual.
I believe I possess particular strengths that will contribute to my success in a graduate program. I am intrinsically motivated, possess a strong desire to remain "on task", and I persevere when confronted with obstacles and difficulties. Also, being a disciplined person, I have developed very useful time management skills to handle my busy work and class schedule during my undergraduate education.
...fessional such as perseverance, attention to details, critical analysis among many others. Hence, it is my belief, and due to my previous studies and professional experience, that I am ready to join your challenging program and capable of excelling in my studies.
