Technology is something everybody uses or is at least familiar of. It’s omniscient. Although everybody knows technology is useful, some people argue that it can be dangerous to use. It’s obvious that there is something wrong with it. Everything has something people find unsatisfactory or risky. What people need to see is how useful technology is. It allows us to gain knowledge easily, gives us an advantage to connect with people, and opportunities can be made or offered through it.
Knowledge is something everybody wants and need. Whether it is for educational purposes or to just quench our thirst of curiosity, knowledge is necessary and technology makes it possible for us to obtain it. Websites like Google are there for us to use and with just typing and clicking, hundreds of information appears for us to learn and use. Peter Norvig in source #2 agrees with me with saying, “By considering a wide range of information, we can arrive at more creative and informed solutions.” The best part about it is that it can be done easily and fast. For example, if you want to find the definition of an unknown word, you don’t need to waste time finding the word on the dictionary. All you have to do is type the word on a computer or phone and you’ll get

Most people like to interact with their friends or people they know and technology allows us to do that. We can talk or chat with our friends even though they are not near us and still grow a connection. Family members can be miles away from you, but technology will make it seem like they are living right next to you. Like Keith Hampton said, “The constant feed from our online social circles is the modern front porch.” Technology does not only just allow you to connect socially, but also in a business or job. You can create presentations and PowerPoints to impress your boss or persuade your coworkers. Technology allows us advantages to associate with
In today’s society technology is everywhere, whether it be in a car, on a billboard, a laptop, or even on one’s phone. However, is all this technology a bad thing or is it truly a worldwide phenomenon. Even back during 1992, author Neil Postman wrote about how technology is both a blessing and a burden. Many people believe Postman’s views are arrogant or far-fetched, but there are also those who agree with him about the dangers of technology.
Our modern day society depends on technology for everything, can anyone imagine a life without their phone or computer? Probably not, social media and other popular applications have become so ingrained into our daily lives. Not only can we connect with people anytime throughout the day but we also have so many useful applications that help us on a daily basis. Thinking back to when I was eight years old, I couldn 't wait for sixth grade because my parents had promised to get me a cell phone, I remember counting down the days till the summer of fifth grade was over because I already knew which cell phone I wanted. Once I got it I couldn’t stop showing my mom all of the cool things it could do. Which looking back at it today, it really couldn
Technology is supposed to be seen as such an advancement and great accomplishment. What others may not always know is sometimes it isn’t all fun and games, it can be dangerous. As seen when we created the atomic bomb and guns, their only purpose is to destroy and cause pain to others. Although they are not always in use, they are a constant threat to our well being. We need to take into consideration the positives and the negatives of the technology we create today.
In today's world, technology is constantly changing from a new paperclip to an improvement in hospital machinery. Technology lets people improve the way they live so that they can preserve their own personal energy and focus on the really important factors in life. Some people focus their energy on making new innovations to improve transportation and the health of people that may save lives and some people focus on making new designs of packaging CDS. Technology is significant in everyone's life because it rapidly changes what is in the market. But, some new innovations of technology are ridiculous because they serve no purpose in helping mankind.
... has the potential to destroy a civilization at the peak of its success or create a new one from the ground up. Without proper direction given by the controllers of technology, things can quickly spiral down in a direction that does not benefit anyone. In Brave New World, technology was used to create a utopia where people prospered but in 2001 A Space Odyssey, technology nearly brought on a nuclear holocaust. Technology does not take sides in a fight, it is merely a tool used by man to better himself and those around him. Technology is not corrupt or immaculate; its role is determined by its user, the human race.
Whether technology is with us or hurting us, we still have to use it and it affects our lives daily. We need it to get a hold of someone. We need it to do our jobs. Most importantly, we need it to keep our lives away from harm. There are many ways to manipulate technology, but technology has more good to it than bad. There are those who use it for good, like investigators so they can figure out the real story. Then there are those who use it for bad, just like those who commit cyber bullying along with other minor and major things. We need technology regardless if people argue they like or not. There is no way to stop technology and keeping people from making it better. With the developments in technology, we may be able to enjoy all the pricey luxuries and still enjoy life at the same time.
There are so much more that talking to friends than a device can do. One thing is there are so many opportunities to get a job through and for social media. Like Bill Gates. He is the creator of Microsoft and did not even go to college because his job was so amazing. In the article “Social Media can be a hostile place, but also a supportive one.”
When thinking of killing, drugs and nudity, I’m pretty sure not many people think of positive ideas. Electronics, such as television and computers, show these kinds of things regularly. Despite this explicit material, some people see the constantly improving technology as a wonderful addition to our lives. Yet as time passes, more and more people start to have doubts about what these developments in technology are leading to. Kids and teens should be playing and using their imaginations; instead they devote countless hours on various electronics ranging from tablets and computers to phones and TV’s. These inventions often show explicit and inappropriate material which corrupts children, and are slowly ruining society’s social skills.
“We barely have time to pause and reflect these days on how far communicating through technology has progressed. Without even taking a deep breath, we’ve transitioned from email to chat to blogs to social networks and more recently to twitter” (Alan 2007). Communicating with technology has changed in many different ways. We usually “get in touch” with people through technology rather than speaking with them face to face. The most popular way people discuss things, with another individual, is through our phones. Phones have been around way before I was born in 1996, but throughout the years, they have developed a phone called a “smart phone”. The smart phone has all kinds of new things that we can use to socialize with our peers. On these new phones, we can connect with our friends or family on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Technology has also developed Skype, a place you can talk with people on the computer with instant voice and video for hours. The new communication changes have changed drastically from the new advances made in technology through our smart phones, social networking sites, and Skype.
One time technology failed me was the wrong use of guns. A gun is a tool of protection and not for the mass killing of innocent lives. The advancements on the gun went from an inaccurate single shot projectile such as a metal ball taking forever to reload to a acurate automatic rifle firing hundreds of rounds a second with a semeless reload. All of these wrongful use of the gun would take away the actual use to the people that actually needs it but due to the exploitation of the gun, there is many controversy and even more problems arising from an issue that shouldnt have been messed with. It failed me with all of these people that are so ignorent of the matter infulencing even more dumbfounded people and blowing the situation out of porportion. It fails the constituational rights to bear arms and just makes it worse for everyone else. It's like that one student in class spreading false information to other students and would have the result of that one person bringing down the entire class and
There are many tracking technologies that law enforcement are using in this day and age. Using newly developed technology may help law enforcement capture criminals much faster. Also, this enables officers to respond more quickly to a crime scene. Using some of these equipment can save a person’s life with a quick response.
Some may argue that technology helps us not feel lonely because technology is the way to escape reality for a bit and the internet can reconnect with our friends and family from around the world. We can save time by “shopping” online and communicate quickly by “email than postal mail” (Franzen 428). We can also communicate via webcam, especially for college students away from their family. It’s a way to reconnect with our love ones and stay in contact with our friends. We want to be “able to share our lives with others” and technology “allows us to do that with music, videos, pictures, and texts” (Arnett 477-479).
We as human beings enjoy finding the easy way to do things. Instead of looking through hundred of pages in books for information, you can simply type your question into Google and get your answer in seconds. The internet 's search engines may not find the answer to an exact question instantly, but it will provide millions of different websites that will have information on the topic. Some people say that’s making us more lazy, we look at three different websites and if we can’t find it we

To remain competitive and employable in the twenty-first century workplace, society today must conform to the changing demands. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at rates unprecedented in history, with profound implications, which we cannot even begin to see or understand.
