COMPARE & CONTRAST Write 2 ways in which WALL-E and Eve are similar (compare)Their trying to save the earth and they both are robots 2. Write 3 ways in which WALL-E and Eve are different (contrast)Eve is clean Wall-e is not,Wall-e is looking for trash Eve is looking for any sign of life,Wall-e builds stuff Eve destroys stuff 3. Questions: Not all problems have been solved, but some still have been changed so why are you so convinced that nothing has been changed? In what ways do you believe that society has not done enough to make change? There have been many changes made and effort put in to try to decrease the amount of slavery and poverty in the world, yet it is still existing today so why do you believe that modern society has done enough in an effort to respond when it is clearly not ever today? Why have no changes been made by on lookers and why do we just watch tragedy happen? In what ways do you believe that society has done enough to make change?
What is one very peculiar feature about our lifestyles today? We think we work a lot because we are always exhausted. And yet, we are getting unhealthier every passing day. The sedentary lifestyle that we lead might be helping us making money, but it is not doing our body any favors. People who grew up walking for miles today look for elevators to reach even the first floor. The problem, basically, lies in our heart.
In the movie Wall-E by John Carter, a robot by the name of Wall-E has a life job of cleaning up the Earth that had been destroyed and polluted by the human race as it became overpopulated and contaminated by too much urbanization. When Wall-E meets a robot by the name of Eve, who’s mission is to find a source of life on Earth, he travels to the spaceship that holds the entire population of Earth in order to save Eve. While saving Eve, he discovers how the human race is unable to care for themselves, and need to be persistently cared for by on-board robots. Wall-E, utilizes various sociological concepts such as population, social movements, urbanization, and health care throughout the movie to display the impact that overpopulation and urbanization has upon the human race, leading for the need of increased health care.
While this era has helped improve several aspects of the world, it has also harmed a significant element in today’s society. The emerging generations are losing their connections with the natural world. A few decades ago, kids would have fun by playing outside with each other. Nowadays, parents buy their children handheld devices to provide entertainment, and fail to see how harmful they can be to a child’s health. Children lose the idea of what it means to have fun, and rely on a material possession for what should be coming from natural means. Statistics have shown the results of a lack of physical activity in a growing child is detrimental to their adult lives. Being active and in touch with nature provides a healthy lifestyle, and should be added to everyone’s routine. Moreover, obesity is a dilemma within the United States, and is a concern for a large portion of the population. More than one-third of adults in the United States are considered obese. The causes for such a statistic can all lead to losing touch with nature. Whether it is processed foods, transportation, or technology, they all stem from the idea of separating from nature. The more progressive the world becomes, the farther the relationship with the environment decays. Creating food through unnatural processes are harmful in the long run. The nature of man is to be outside and live in harmony with the Earth.
Obesity is a growing epidemic, which affects the obese and society as a whole. I want to get to the root of this problem and have an understanding of it. I will be discussing what obesity is, how it is developed, and who is at risk. I would also like to explore the familial upbringing of those afflicted by obesity, how to reverse the process, and finally see how obesity is viewed by society.
In the movie WALL-E he is a simple tasks robot. He just makes a compact blocks of trash and stacks them up everyday. Wall-e is always wondering and that can be misleading at times. When he meets a character known as Ev, she gets WALL-E when situations he makes it more of a bigger deal than it would've been if it was Ev herself. If there is a object and WALL-E hasn’t seen it he put just pick it up and mess with it.
WALL-E takes place in a contaminated wasteland which was once Earth. The once elegant planet beaming with life is now uninhabited, with only a small mobile trash compactor left to clean up the human waste. The old, sentient robot, WALL-E, roams the deserted Earth while an innovative man made robot with a mission rummages through the heaps of trash, desperately searching for any sign of organic life. Disney/Pixar have critiqued how humanity has ignored the buildup of waste destroying the Earth. The fictional citizens of WALL-E seem to be an over exaggerated form of the obesity commonly found among more developed countries.
(1) Life expectancy has increased over the last one hundred years because I think that people take care of themselves. Meaning that they maintain a healthy life and always being proactive.
The movie Wall-E illustrates how technology can help clean up the environment. Wall- E shows the remaining happiness that is left on earth and finds joy in smallest things. Over time Wall-E spends his time tidying up the planet that the humans left behind. In the movie Wall-E they showed that by Clearing Earth from contamination and helping them live on the Axiom until they discover life again. Wall-E shows how he appreciates earth and presently show a message of how the humans took Earth for granted.
3. Archean life was extremely basic, essentially making it harder for anything to go wrong with it. Life first appeared in an incredibly hostile environment, todays earth is much more hospitable and abundant with all sorts of life.
One of the biggest concept in biology is evolution, as shown in the textbook, and it all started when Charles Darwin published The Origin of Species over 150 years ago. There are compelling evidence that individuals with favorable traits are most likely to be passed on to offsprings, and that supports the theory that modern humans have evolved over time with the shifting environments. So, are we done evolving? Or are still more for us? What is next for the human race? These are the four possible ways that humans will or will not evolve in the future.
I wonder what it will be like 2,000 years from now. I picture radiant and glossy skyscrapers that look like they touch the clouds. I see children riding to school on hover boards and in flying cars. Honestly, I see nothing that I look forward to. When I picture the future, I see a world overrun by technology, dull and heartless people, and everything looking exactly the same as everything else. That is how the media has portrayed it for me. I wonder if there will be an extraordinary 17 year old who will sacrifice his/her life for a cause that could end sexism, or if someone will create something that could be a scientific breakthrough, or even if new doors of hope and freedom open after a tragedy that brought a whole country to its knees.
In summary, what have we learned? Our evolving longevity, demographics, transportation, and technology have brought us from the twentieth to the twenty-first century.
For example, our new hypnotizing technology, fast food restaurants, and comfortable, lazy lifestyle, all made it easier for us to collect this pounds. We have all become glued to phone’s, I pad’s, and TV screens that we don’t bother to exercise our bodies anymore. As for our healthy diets, well we’ve changed them to greasy fast foods because they’re cheap, delicious, and easily accessible to us. For many hard working people who spend up to eight hours or more at work, they focus so much on their desk paper work that they forget about their own health. That’s the daily life for many Americans; they sit for eight hours straight working, then head home, stop by a fast food place, and go home only to sit, watch TV and finally sleep. As you can see, not much exercise is being practiced to help their obese situation. At this pace we can only expect greater health risks, and shorter life spans for the upcoming
Employment was more labor intensive, daily chores required more movement and energy. Transportation was limited to those with money, requiring many people to walk to and from each destination. Transportation also limited the food distribution throughout the nation, and even globally. Today, everything is available at a touch of a button, or a flick of a switch. Jobs are done via telecommuting, Most of our daily chores can be completed by machines; dishwashers, washing machines, automatic vacuums complete the job without any effort from people. More and more transportation options become available at a very inexpensive price. Everyone has a car, some families have two or even three automobiles. Moving sidewalks, escalators, elevators, buses, airplanes, all of these things getting us to our destination with little or no effort on our part. Currently every type of food is available on almost every corner. Some businesses even deliver food right to your home. Requiring no physical activity whatsoever from you to obtain sustenance. This rise in a sedentary life is the cause of many preventable deaths. Combine obesity together with a sedentary lifestyle and the risk for Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) increases by more than 40 percent. (Source
