Communication in Graphics and Animation jobs is critical in accomplishing the various creative projects and client jobs that are presented to the team or individual. Outlined below are just some of the many types of communication choice that will or would be needed to not only do the job hired for but also in getting promotions.
When people are in the workplace communication is a key element to having productive and happy employees and management. There are many different people that will interact with each other on any given day and in many different situations. On any given day a person will communicate with the upper and lower management in a company, the main employees like graphic designers and animators, interns that have come in to learn the company and the processes of the business and jobs that they did not get in school, the different companies that are competing for the same creative jobs and the clients that have asked the company to do a creative project. What are the different ways to communicate? When in graphics and animation jobs a person will use email to make reminders or contact management and clients, calling a person or client on the phone, and meeting a co-employee or a client face to face. In every one of these forms of communicating,

The first thing to do is look at the pros and cons of the types of communications. First, there is email and/or written communications. While email communications are sometimes the quickest form of communication, this can also be the most impersonal. If a boss sends an email to one of their employees and does not proofread the correspondence, the employee might not understand the context of the conversation and misinterpret what point the manager is trying to get across. The same goes for any replies that the employee sends back. This also can be problematic when corresponding to clients and other companies as
Throughout humankind, communication has been used from sending firer signals to the pony express; communication is a very important part of our world today. Team Leader and member should always know their audience. Managers have all the tools necessaries to get their message across from meeting, email, office bulletin board, using FedEx. No matter how they chose to get the message across effective communication is important.
Workplace meetings have become as common an occurrence in daily business activity as punching in on a time clock. "Done right, meetings are one of the most powerful communication tools." (Thibodeau, 2005, para. 1). As beneficial as productive meetings can be to business organizations, ineffective meetings can have an equally detrimental effect. Regardless of how boring or pointless they may seem, not even modern technology is a substitute for personal interfacing. Maxwell (2004) states the importance of in-person communication:
Communication is a vital skill in all facets of life and all occupations. Before a person begins work, they first interview with the employer, where their communication skills are made apparent. These skills are vital to daily success in the workplace, whether they are used in direct communication or indirectly through the written word. It is crucial that the true meaning of what one person is trying to communicate to another is made perfectly clear the first time to ensure efficiency and success throughout all paths of life. There are also several situations for communication a person may experience. Communication situations can happen at any point in a person’s life, and it is imperative that a person is prepared for these situations when
One example of between-group differences is African-Americans and First Nation People. The research of these two groups is important since, both groups encountered negative situations during the time of Columbus’s arrival to the New World. Furthermore, the groups endured maltreatment, degrading circumstances, and death to their people while the New World’s invasion took place. Another example of between-group differences is Mexican-Americans and African-Americans. Furthermore, the research for these groups is important in understanding the roles of married couples, which would benefit social workers in understanding their role in the relationship. For example, in African-American families’ non-traditional roles is an expectation since, the
Communication is the process of conveying information to each another using words, actions, or by writing the information down to be read by another person. Communication is something that most people do at some point each day, and is an important part of life especially in a working environment. “The concept of communication is an essential part of every profession, and it is required to foster and maintain healthy relationships”( Jasmine, 2009, para. 1).
The next kind of communication I would like to cover is upward communication. This is when employees send a message threw the chain of command, to the managers. This type of communication is very good for employees because they feel they are being noticed in the organization. Managers also benefit from this because they learn more about the organization.
I work at Geneva Ace Hardware. My most important job, among my many duties, is to help customers. Usually everything goes ok, but there are always a few customers that can be hard to deal with. I’ve had to deal with Mexicans who can barely speak English. I’ve had to deal with Mexicans who use their 5 year old children/grandchildren as translators. I once had to deal with a Canadian couple whose accent was so rich; I would have about a 30 second delayed response to try to convert their English into my English. Then there are the people who just won’t accept my help because I’m only a kid. None of these people compare to the dude that was deaf.
The average worker spends two-thousand and eighty hours a year at their place of employment. Communication within the workplace is often overlooked or not given as much importance as most people should allow, given the amount of time that is spent there. Beyond the more basic verbal speech, one must be aware of the nonverbal symbols and noise that can have an effect on communication. There are also cultural, environmental and internal factors that can effect communication and how successful it can be. The various perceptions that an individual has developed over their life can also effect communication. One’s ability to communicate effectively will determine the success and enjoyment that is to come from their job.
People communicate for three purposes which are: to inform, persuade and entertain. Most managers use 60-80% of their time communicating in many ways which include: be present in meetings, listen and contribute in decision making and problem solve; compose various types of memos to inform and influence others about your viewpoints along with the services and products offered by one’s organization; presents information and influencing messages to large and small groups either face to face or virtual setting; explains and clarifies tasks and procedures
One’s career, school life, and even socializing are affected by communication. If you do not know how to communicate, you probably do not have many friends. Communication has been used since the days of the cavemen. When the cavemen learned to communicate they greatly increased their hunting potential. When they learned to communicate on the hunt and before the hunt, they caught much more game then when they were just randomly running after the animals with spears. In school, if teachers and students could not communicate well, how would anything ever get done? In a business, communication is the most important ingredient. Working at a corporation at a higher level, you deal with hundreds of important emails, meetings, phone calls, and other forms of communicating with your co-workers.
In this present century the corporate world is moving towards turning into one entity with all the progressions and advancements in the innovation and exchange. The spine to this is been the corporate world, which runs all the organizations ranging from the large companies to small scale with enormous number of its representatives. I firmly accept that achievement of corporates lies in overseeing its representatives for which incredible managerial correspondence expertise is an absolute necessity.
Clearly, communication plays a significant role in every aspect of our life. Communication is the simply act of conveying information from one person to another by using voice (verbally), gesture or body language (nonverbally), books or magazines (written), pictures (visually). The better communication skills that one has is the better the information could be transferred and received. The ability to convey information successfully and clearly is a fundamental life skill and should not be underestimated. Additional, effectively communication is the key to solve problems in any situation. With good communication skills, you can absolutely improve your professional life as well as strengthen your social and family relation ship. Indeed, communication allows us to relate and understand each other. “It also provides us with a significant frame of reference and relational context that sustain our identities.” (Imberti, 2007)
As in all aspects of personal and professional life, having effective communication is a key element of success. Effective communication can benefit your relationships with people. By conveying your message and integrating them as a member of the team and not just a subordinate leads to better production. By effectively communicating you can clearly define job responsibilities and expectations. The better you are able to communicate the less likely organizational turnover of personnel will occur. Supervisors and leaders in the professional workplace find that the most important factor in advancement and retain ability is effective communication. Senior level executives and human resources managers are stressing the importance of communication and providing more training for mid-level management. Emphasis is placed on communication being clear by being transmitted strongly.
In today’s era of raising slogan of global village, communication has become a burning issue. The world has turned into a global village, and one cannot survive alone. As man is a social animal, he cannot overcome worldly activities alone. For the fulfillment of daily activities and usual deeds, he needs help from other people and have to communicate with others. Infect, in habitual life everyone spend a lot of time in communicating i.e. writing, reading, talking and listening. People spent most of their time in communicating, for the execution of routine activities everyone needs assistance and support from others. Then communication process starts, no one can communicate alone. There‘s always a sender and one or more receivers.
Communication is the top quality that employers look for. Effective business communication starts by asking the right questions to understand the customer’s needs and wants to be able to recommend a product or service customized to the customer. One good tip would be to speak, pause, and listen. Communicate what you need and then pause to let the recipient process and respond to the information. With an average of 1800 messages being sent by workers through memos, telephone, email, faxes, and face to face, it is important to listen and pay attention to the recipient and send your information clearly. All in all, to be effective in business communication you need to be clear, brief, focused, and comm...
