I work at McDonalds. Do I like it? No. The good thing about having the job is being able to afford things when I need it. Half of the people I work with are scandalmongers they gossip and can be inconsiderate. Don’t get me wrong there are some appreciable people I work with as well. The managers can be rasping at times, particularly when we are teeming with customers, but then again that's their job is to maintain the store the best way possible. Often times the other employees will just be very loquacious and not do their job which leaves me doing their job, and that can get obnoxious and overwhelming Why don’t I enjoy working at McDonalds? Because, at the moment the snow is plummeting therefore standing at the drive thru window is gelid. I feel the snow hitting my face and all I can feel is how the wind makes my lips chapped. When it rains as the cars pull up to the window their windshield wipers would whip the rain into my face and it becomes difficult to speak with the customers. Also, another job I do is the fries, I can feel the grease submerge into my pores and as I run around bagging food the heat feels like suffocation. Sometimes when i'm put on back cash, collecting money and taking orders can be a bit much for …show more content…
Also dealing with demanding customers can be frustrating. I don't make food I serve it or accumulate the money for it therefore, when customers come to me with a problem that has to do with their food I just want to tell them it's not my fault and they will just continuously accuse me for it. Don't get me wrong, at time,s it is hundred percent my fault due to me ringing an item up incorrectly, but for the most part I would say i'm pretty confident with how I
Chapter one examines the various occupations at McDonalds's. Barbara Garson finds that most workers here tend to dislike their jobs. Due to the tremendous amount of stress created by automated systems such as timers and computer generated productivity statistics McDonald's has a high turn over rate in employment.
Being accepted as a manager by your colleagues is one of the most notable high point in anyone’s career. Rising within a company is a goal most of us share. Organizations always need leaders - individuals who can emotionally form individuals into a committed team focused on one goal. However, at a certain stage, organizations also need generals - individuals who balance process and risk in order to maximize the organization's chance for success. It is refreshing to know that there is a company that cares about serving quality food fast, that has compassion for people, that knows how to have fun, and that takes advantage of every opportunity to impact the community for good. That company is Chick-fil-A, Inc.
Etzioni states that when people work at fast food businesses, it sets an nonacademic standard of working conditions. Workers are being taught specific roles in the workplace that are mapped out for them the way it is required to be, which leaves “[...] no room for initiative, creativity, or even elementary rearrangements” (Etzioni). Etzioni shares his idea that fast food industries are training “robots”. These “robots’ follow commands mindlessly, whether it be cutting into homework or family time, dropping out of school, or doing whatever it takes just to keep a job that is supposed to be the initial training ground in work experience.
Also, if a customer had a complaint about their food, we would not only apologize for the situation, but also give them complementary coupons to use on their next orders. Being curious to your customers really matters, because it shows that you care and that their business matters to the company. Even having a suggestion boxes for your customers, so that your business can get feed back and know what areas are needing improvement in will also matter as
In the essay, “Working at McDonald’s,” Amitai Etzioni shares his strong belief that working, especially at McDonald’s type restaurants, is bad for teenagers. I would agree that working is not a good thing for teenagers under some circumstances but at other times it is good. First, jobs affect school involvement and attendance in bad ways. Second, jobs often provide “on the job experience,” but much of the time the experience taught is useless. Third, fast food jobs may provide a disadvantaged status. Fast food jobs can also provide an advantaged status. Finally, workers can learn to manage their money by making mistakes with money before they get into the Real World.
Having those fellow co workers that bring you down, the ungodly amount of hours you have to work, and at time just the job in itself can be the reason that you have a horrible attitude about working. Find a job that you know you will enjoy doing, because doing that boring job in the end will do nothing but give you a bad attitude about the rest of the working
I used to work at my local McDonalds for three years during high school. At first, I thought I was there just to make an extra quick buck to fund my weekend adventures, but later would turn into a key cog at the store as the crew trainer and starting to be prepped for a managerial spot. It was exciting, learning how to place orders for the store, make the work schedule and cycle counts among other things. Soon however, I started to realize how replaceable my coworkers a...

I worked there for two days. … It just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t take people telling me what to do and shit. My next job after that was Popeyes for a week. And that’s only because I was eating it
While customers can accept that mistakes do occur, they are less accepting of repetition of the same errors with customer perception of quality being adversely
Complaints are a good form of feedback. They're a few steps to follow in handling difficult situations. The first is to Focus and listen to the customer. The next is to be courteous and discreet, if possible take the customer away from others. Then suggest way(s) to fix the problem, if nothing can be done thank the customer for bring the problem to your attention. If you can't fix the problem go to somebody who can but stay there to make sure the problem is resolved. Then find the solution and implement it, then check the customer is happy and re-thank them for bring the problem to your attention. Last off all record the situation in your establishments logbooks.
McDonalds believe that good customer service is the responsibility of everybody in the company. Every employee has a part to play in providing with a service with best practise found anywhere in the trade.
The Unfair Treatment of McDonald’s Workers How would you describe the workers at any McDonald’s restaurant? Nice? Pretty? Happy?
Customer service by definition is the ability of knowledgeable, capable, and enthusiastic employees to deliver products and services to their internal and external customers in a manner that satisfies identified and unidentified needs and ultimately results in positive word-of-mouth publicity and return business (Lucas, 2012, pg.7). In other words, it’s making the customer pleased so that they keep doing business with you all while making sure that the employees get along and work together well. In every business there is a form of customer service. Unfortunately, it is not always excellent or even decent. Some businesses just either don’t care or possibly just don’t have the training to deal with some of the obstacles that come with dealing with customers on a daily basis. I’ve been in the restaurant business for over 13 years and I can tell you that there are skills that some are born with and others need training on, yet either way they should be used whenever interacting with customers.
When entering a restaurant, I usually expect to leave full, satisfied, and wanting to come back again. I believe that many people expect the same thing. The way people react to service can be very different from person to person. Depending on the way the customers are feeling, or the way that the server is feeling can be a big factor for the way service comes across. Service is an important part of everyone’s lives because majority of the jobs that people preform are service related. Poor service is an unfortunate part of life that everyone comes across. The way that I react to the poor service I receive is important and can change in the blink of an eye. Whether I react in an outspoken way, by getting loud and voicing my opinion. Or if I react in a quiet or apologetic way, it can affect my server, and the people around me, and myself.
