Work Ethic Essay

From a young age my parents goal for us kids were to teach us a good work ethic. From a very young age I was taught how to work hard, and how to try my best in everything I do. I started working for my Dad when I was five years old. Obviously, I didn’t work strenuous hours, but I worked enough to understand what I would be doing in the years to come. My father, and my uncle Doug have taught me many valuable life skills. My Family, and working at a young age has formed me into the person I am today, and will continue to be a huge driving forces in my life. Before I even started kindergarten I was already helping my Dad with his work. My mom would drop me off at a house that my dad was working on. There I would do simple jobs for him for example, tying rebar (ADD MORE SIMPLE JOBS). This was the only thing that my father would let me help with since I was still young. They would continually talk to me about my faith and taught me who Jesus was. I can’t remember a point in my life when I wasn’t being taught about Jesus and what he did for me when he died on the cross. Looking back at all of the times my parents talked to me about Jesus, I now am able to look back I realize how important those moments were because what they have been able to teach me during tough times in my life. My mom also influenced my life through the list of chores she had for my siblings and I to do everyday while she was at work. These chores were simple and I assume almost everybody my age needed to do similar chores at some point in their life. But by doing these chores I was taught how to become more organized, and how to procrastinate less. These chores also taught me self discipline, because if my mom would get home from work and the list wasn’t completed we would receive well deserved
