Some things that Australians do for the environment are setting up summer camps for kids that want to help. Some parents are even helping by going to the desert to help the animals and even feed them. Australia's environment also gives them a lot of resources, for example the trees give them wood for houses. Australia also has a lot of oil platforms because they are surrounded by water so they use the oil or they can sell it and get food, and and building materials. Australia is known for 2 major crops. The Australia Outback is portrayed in films as vast and red. Of Course Australia is not completely this description. In the film, Crocodile Dundee, Sue Charlton (heroine character) is a New York journalist visiting Sydney. The Irony is the complete contrast between the desert landscape, shown as a bird’s eye view in the helicopter (Scene 2 Crocodile Dundee). In Priscilla, Queen of the Desert the imagery of a “never-ending” road reaffirms the idea that Australia is an isolated place. Similarly to Crocodile Dundee, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert exposition began in Sydney. The main difference between the films the ‘outback’ where both film plo...
Why Australia? What is Australia anyway1? The continent itself is clear enough, burned into my mind on long hot afternoons in the Third Grade when I learned to sketch in its irregular coastline: the half-circle of the Great Australian Bight, the little booted foot of Eyre's Peninsula. Spencer's Gulf down to Port Philip … … I know the outline; I know the names (learned painfully for homework) of several

Australia's national identity has been made by many events that have taken place however the most important event being the Anzac war, this is what shaped Australia, this war made Australia great again as it brought everyone closer together as everyone worked together and as a result new laws and rules came out, women had more rights and were allowed into the war to help fight for their country, however in saying this Australia was told to go to war by Britain as it's the mothering country so when Britain goes to war so does America and Australia. Before the war most people thought Australia didn't have much history, so they saw this as a chance to gain history. Australia's identity has grown over many years and still continues to grow as this year was marked as thee 100th year of Anzac Day so 100 years ago Australia went to war. So many different people around the country came together so many relationships were made from this war, families were made stronger than ever as everyone needed each other's support. Many soldiers suffered from this war when they returned home none of them were the same the divorce rate raised, and the domestic violence rate raised. In some ways
Now I shall give a bit of a quick history lesson. The land of Australia had two types of people living there before the European settlers came to the country the Aboriginal and the Torres Strait Islanders and in 1688 a man named William Dampier was the first British man to explore Australia (Austrailian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade). This is similar to how America had Native A...
At the time of the World War One, Britain was Australia’s ‘mother country’. Influences were still very strong, and Australia, still very young, needed this support and comfort that Britain offered. Australia, as a country officially existed, but she had no identity of her own to set her apart from Britain. This is seen in history through the English style uniforms the army adopted, the clothes that were worn, and the style of houses. The isolation of Australia also had an effect on her development. There was a lack of technology, money and industry. Without that base, it seemed that Australia would develop rather slowly.
The Aboriginal people of Australia were here thousands of years before European settlement and we forced them to adapt to the changes of environment around them. This change might be for better or worse, but we will never find out. But with the European settlement came the birth of industry, agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, manufacture, electricity, gas and water just to name a few.
