There are drawbacks and benefits to having toll road. One benefit of having roads that require the user to pay a fee will help free up roads and highways that otherwise would be congested. Toll roads will save the user time and make the trip less stressful. The Trans Canada Highway had faced many challenges and criticism through the thirteen years it took to construct. The most common criticism it had faced was whether it reinforced the unity and national pride it was sent out to make. There are different viewpoints from political, personal and economical levels that challenge and support the implementation of the highway. Although there were many different challenges, the highway did support a unique unity that was specific to Canada. The Trans Canada Highway helped Canada unite as one and emerge through a symbol that supported Canadian nationalism.

The creation of roads from Rome has helped the modern world in many ways. Roads helped Roman people advance in trade, improved their postal services, and help military get to where they were going to fight. Without the creation of roads we would not be where we are today in communication, or anywhere close where we are with the development of our military. The roads made it easier for the Roman’s to trade with other empires because they had paths to take and were able to reach them. Let’s be honest, we all have faced the dilemma of what is the right thing to do when it comes down to tipping. Should I tip or not? If yes, how much? Did I tip less or more? Was I better off not tipping at all? This dilemma ends up creating an aloof relationship between a consumer and a service provider. Not only that, but tipping in itself is a wrong approach to show gratitude for the service provided because more often than not, “sense of guilt” comes into play since we are bounded by the social norms for tipping. Tipping should be abolished from the society because tipping doesn’t reflect the quality of service provided, it hinders social relationship, and furthermore it encourages tax evasion.
Automobiles play a major role in today's society. Almost every American owns at least one motorized transportation vehicle. Some say they make our lives better by reaching places faster than before. Others say they are a harmful to the environment. Have they made our society better or worse? They may be fast, but do we as humans want our environment to suffer because of time. Face it, cars pollute. And they release destructive chemicals into the air. Air pollution can threaten the health of many subjects in the environment including human beings.
Many of these problems occur because of the United States’ dependency on the automobile. Statistics show that when given the choice, individuals prefer using an automobile due to its convenience, comfort, and speed. Also, it is shown that many households have more than one automobile (U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey). Automobile dependency is caused by underpricing and planning and investment practices by cities (Rodrique). Because the automobile is the most commonly used method of transportation, cities tend to allocate all the money for transportation to improve roads and parking areas for automobiles (Radziner). This causes funding for other transportation methods to be pushed to the side. Also, consumers do not bear the full price of driving automobiles because most road infrastructures are subsidized. For now the more use are the airlines, buses, or trains. Many people use the airlines to travel to one place to another, and by building the railway it will decrease the number of people who ride the planes and it will decrease the amount of people traveling in car, too. The railway is not only going to decrease the amount of people traveling in planes, cars, or bus but it will also decrease the amount of time people take to travel in this kind of transportations. A reporter says, “Texas central is planning to build a bullet train route that cut between Dallas and Houston, Trimming about 2 hours off the average driving time, and saving over an hour compared to air travel” (“Proposed”). The railways will cut time for passengers to get to their destination but it will have a bad result later on. Some people agree on building this train because it will be faster to get to one place to another, but they are wrong because it will take costumers away from other transportations, and it will have an impact in the increase of how much each ticket cost. Researchers have found that railways benefit economies by bringing competition to transportation because people will be able to choose from all the varieties. It is 8:45 and Paul has just gotten on the interstate to make his normal commute to Longview from Tyler. About halfway there, Paul notices a state trooper right behind him. He frantically checks his speed! Too late!!!!!! The state trooper turns on his lights. Not only was Paul speeding, but now he will be late to a very important meeting at work.
From first-hand experience, one should easily realize that the common man would feel negativity toward raising speed limits. People fall into this trap because the general public is often mislead into believing that abolishing speed limits on highways will only cause more harm than good. People often are the victims of misunderstanding and people rarely observe the advantages offered by increasing the speed limit to a safe level.
Sales tax and registration fees are a good example. On average a person who has to register a car in Nebraska pays about one-thousand five hundred dollars in fees and sales tax. I am purposing that we do away with sales tax when it comes to buying vehicles that are ten years or older. This way, it would save people buying old cheap cars from having to pay sometimes more than what their car is worth just to register it. I also think that we should only include sales tax on a vehicle the day it is purchased.
First of the difference between public transportation and private car is convenience in travel. There are many type of transportations that people can choose to travelling such as bus and van. People can save time to go work in morning and to back when they finished working. Even though, people have to go to work in a crowded bus, people can avoid and also less traffic jams from using their own car on the road. If they go to work or somewhere by private car, they will get serious when they get stick in their car for a long time. People do not have to find parking when they go out to work or shopping. Moreover, public transportation saves environment because it helps people decrease air pollution from using private car.

The most important reason why ownership of private vehicles should not be banned is that vehicles are an essential part of modern city living. Without vehicles, a lot of inconveniences will occur. For example, people would be forced to walk quite a distance to school, in the case of students, or to other places. They need to go through the hassle of waiting for and using public transport. This can be quite the problem in rural areas where public transport is unreliable at best and can even be non-existent. When it comes to going somewhere, public transit will in most cases take more time to reach the desired destination when compared to driving there.
