Napping during the day is not a good practice for adults becuase if a person gets their 8 full hours of sleep at night there wouldn't be any reason for them to take a nap during the day.On the the contrary people who belive that taking a nap is a good thing for reasons that may be being sick or not being able to sleep at night , that can eality be trated without the desire to sleep and waste time during the day.One solution to not having to want to sleep during the day would be go to bed earlier than usual ,if you seem to have trouble sleeping at night. If the problem is that your feeling sick and you feel like you just need to rest and lay down, the solution would be to drink some medicine and to take your mind of it because somtimes its …show more content…
I have personally slept 8 hours each night possible and sometimes even more ,and the next day im feeling fresh and ready to get on with my day. Unless there is a problem with going to sleep right away, a best solution would be to go to bed an hour ealier which helps with not wanting to take a nap during the day. For example, in the passage Naps are not a Solution, it states that "Generally humans don't sleep during the day unless something has drastically disrupted their night time cylce". This means that humans don't necessarily need to sleep during the day unless if for a problem like maybe not beeing able to fall asleep at night. To also support this idea tha passage states". If the tiredness is from too much stress and too little sleep at night, then lifestyle choices should be examined".This concludes that naps arent really a go-to for adults unless theres a drastic change in their sleeping schedule at night in which case they need to make some choices to fix …show more content…
There are solutions to this ,such as medicine ,or a day of relaxation staying at home watching movies or baking. Things that help distract the mind from being in bed all day and probably sleeping. Personally, when im sick i do wish to be in bed sleeping all day, but that does take time away from being productive even with the smallest thing. For example, in the passage Naps are not a Solution, pragraph 4 basically states it all saying,"What we need instead of naps is to address the core problem of people being too tired. If tiredness is from illness, then the illness should be treated." This supports the idea of not letting an illness take you down, facing it and curing it is the best way to not feel like naping is the only way to help get better. To conclude, napping isnt the solution to eveything that doesnt feel right
Second, “A tired child is almost not a child but a monster waiting to spoil your plans,” says Lori Bulloch of North Salt Lake, Utah, mother of a four year old, two year old, and a four month old. “It’s worth it for me to arrange my schedule around nap times. a rested child is simply a different child.” Bulloch adds. Children who get a satisfying nap sometime throughout the day will be happier than a child who doesn’t take or receive one.
Do (you) like to take naps during the day? If so when, where and for how
However, many people argue that napping is not the best way to make up for lost sleep during the night. For instance, as stated in the article, “How much sleep is enough?” by The National Heart, Blood, and Lung Institute, napping cannot make-up the time you didn’t sleep at night and doesn’t have all the benefits that sleeping during the night has. Though I do agree with them about napping doesn’t have all the benefits that can be gained from enough sleep during the night, it can, however, boost your energy and your alertness that you need to keep on
One reason that it’s important to have a full eight hours of sleep is so that you can have good health. Not sleeping good can have a higher risk of obesity. Obesity is a health problem which means that you are overweight. A way that would decrease the risk of a higher chance of having obesity is by falling and waking up at the same time everyday as scientist have proven. More sleep also helps with brain health. As we all know the brain is a big part of our whole body system. Which also not enough sleep can cause
“Sleep is the best meditation” –Dalai Lama. This idea of sleep as being peaceful and calm is nowhere to be found is Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. The normally accepted belief of sleep being associated with relaxation is reserved. Peaceful sleep is disturbed by horrific deeds that occur at night. From the night, one will see that sleep imagery shows acts of unnaturalness. By examining Shakespeare’s image of sleep, one can determine that sleep reinforces the idea of evil.
The brain is the most important organ in the body and without it life would not exist. In a metaphorical sense, the brain can be thought of as a master computer. Functions of the brain include physical behavior, emotion, learning capability and memory. Since the beginning of scientific exploration, the brain has been a significant area of interest and its complexity still puzzles scientists today. New research methods and advances in technology have allowed humans to understand more about the brain within the past 10 years than in the preceding centuries (Brain Basics, 2013.) Research on the role of sleep in brain functionality shows surprising promise. The amount and quality of sleep an individual receives effects learning ability and the risk of developing brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
“When the going gets tough, the tough take a nap.” This statement by Tom Hodgkinson perfectly describes the solution to the life of the average American high schooler, who wakes up early, rushes to school, and undergoes several grueling classes, only to later participate in extracurricular activities and return home to complete homework. Due to all these activities, only a vast minority of teenagers obtain the amount of sleep they need in a night; Tom Hodgkinson’s quote proposes a solution to this problem. By instituting naptime in high schools, students could simply nap to refresh themselves when the going gets tough, whether that be an excessive amount of homework, an extremely demanding test, or a sports practice that lasts long into the
By side by side computer noticing the different degrees of sleeping, and fatigue checklist of recording with the mood scale. After twenty-four hours without sleep, her performance and the mood was in the worst status, the level of fatigue on the high level. Now she recorded that she find herself in the space, there was nothing in her mind everything was blanked. Between 4:00 to 6:00 am after first night according to researcher participants have hit the lowest point but according to Dotto this is very depressive because she was tired only at that time. Now whenever the research announced about the nap time it was not the …… moment for her. But after the nap of about one and half hour, she feels refresh and able to reset her mind on the tasks. Due to this her logical reasoning and serial reaction performance improved by forty percent or it are nearly equal to the started experiment performances. The research basically base upon to knowing the effect of napping on performance. In the last it can be concluded by the researcher that for the professional workers it is very important to always get in the high level of alertness so for these napping is the
One question that people seem to be unsure about is exactly how much sleep is enough sleep? In Inside Insomnia: How to Sleep Better Tonight, Dryer tells that the ideal amount of sleep may vary from person to person. She states that while seven to eight hours may seem to be the accepted average, there are no fixed norms. Some people sleep two hours nightly, while others sleep nine to twelve hours nightly without complaint. She goes on to say that as long as the hours of sleep that one has gotten leaves them feeling energetic and alert the next morning, then that person has met their sleep needs. Sleeping in excess does not always allow the person to feel more awake the next morning. Dryer believes that trying to sleep longer than needed will lead to hours of tossing and turning, and not necessarily feeling more awake the next morning. Basically, the ideal amount of sle...

Furthermore, there are clear distinctions in the type of naps that are commonly used. Some people may choose to nap to replace lost sleeping time, which is referred to as “replacement napping”, others may want to prepare for an extended period of wakefulness by napping, which is also known as “prophylactic napping”, and a third motivation to nap is described as appetitive napping, when a person naps for pure enjoyment of falling asleep (Milner & Cote, 2008). These three types of naps could apply to the subject of this particular study, which is a college student. College students are subject the enormous amounts of stress and pressure from parents and teacher to get all their work done, perform in the classroom, obtain good grades, etc… and they form a group that could profit largely from napping.

A survey was done to find out that “stress might be getting in the way of sleep”. The survey was towards young adults who received less than the required amount of sleep, which is seven to nine hours of sleep a night. These adults received roughly 6.7 hours of sleep a night. A majority of the group reported that stress caused them to not be able to get a good nights rest. They would lie on their bed, wide-awake and have their minds running constantly thinking and
