“The Knower 's perspective is essential in the pursuit of knowledge.” To what extent do you agree?
The knower’s perspective is the way that a person sees and interprets knowledge in the world. If the knower already has a set perspective about various topics in the world, is it possible for them to pursue new knowledge? Does the perspective they already obtain actually hinder or help when learning and pursuing new information? Is it right for these knower 's to go into pursuing new knowledge with their preconceived notions and beliefs? In order to decide if the knower 's perspective is actually essential in the pursuit of knowledge I will look at three Areas of Knowledge: Natural and Human Sciences, Ethics, and Mathematics. These Areas of knowledge will allow me to evaluate the prompt on a wide scale, showing how perspective can affect or help people when pursuing new and different area’s of knowledge.
When a knower is pursuing new knowledge, is the perspective they already have important? This perspective can have two effects when seeking new information. As a knower, we can either allow our perspective to hinder our pursuit of

They can say that in their math classes the knowledge they already obtain does not affect them when trying to learn new topics. Math is a language, therefore all of the answers cannot be varied. Methods of mathematics are easier to learn because you don’t really have to gather other knowledge that you might have obtained. You can “easily empty your cup” and learn new methods. Though this is something that I would also argue against because sometimes while I am in Math class I can be affected by things I might have learned in the past and not able to learn new methods. Even though I try to become a critical thinker it is easy to convert back to what I might have learned before which can hinder my pursue of new knowledge in

Our knowledge is a key to our success and happiness in our life to give us personal satisfaction. Knowledge is power but not always. Sometimes our self-awareness and growth as an individual gives us negative thoughts that make us want to go back to undo it. Everyone wants to unlearn a part in our life that brought us pain and problems. Good or bad experiences brought by true wisdom can be used for our self-acceptance, self-fulfillment and these experiences would make us stronger as we walk to the road of our so called “life”, but Douglas’s and my experience about knowledge confirmed his belief that “Knowledge is a curse”. Both of us felt frustrated and sad from learning knowledge.
So to say, knowledge can either make or break a person. It can act as a benefit, for power, or loss, for ignorance. “Do not take for granted what you know. Ask yourself how you know what you know; ask yourself whom it benefits, whom it hurts and why.” (Blackboard: Knowledge is Power)
The new perspectives allow people to think differently about a situation or a person. Gaining new perspectives can help people realize the different kinds of life and allow people to understand differences.
Evaluating the accuracy of potential knowledge is essential in developing an understanding of the world. According to the theory of situated knowledge, however, this process isn't as simple as observing from a neutral, unattached perspective. Rather, the theory suggests that your situation and past experiences heavily influence what knowledge you hold, why you hold it, and your likelihood of accepting differing information. If perspective indeed influences what knowledge you hold, it follows that there is the potential for some people to have more accurate perspectives than others. I argue that feminist empiricism accounts for this more honestly and appropriately than standpoint theory, but that feminist empiricism must be thoughtfully applied to avoid being inappropriately inclusive of every perspective.
How is knowledge power? How do we benefit from learning from different points of view?

Per Dew and Foreman (2014), “Skepticism raises important questions about our cognitive and perceptual limitations but goes too far and leaves us with nothing, or almost nothing, that can be known. In the end, there are good reasons for thinking that we can have varying degrees of knowledge about the world” (Dew & Foreman, 2014, p. 162). Furthermore, Dew and Foreman state that “Virtue epistemology attempts to emphasize the important role that intellectual virtue should play in our pursuit of knowledge” (Dew & Foreman, 2014, p. 125). They show similar and different ways people can gain knowledge through individual “internal or external” life experiences, but no matter the experience individuals are capable gaining true
Production of knowledge is generally seen in a positive light. However, when ethics and morality become involved in the process of production, judgements will undoubtedly be made that may seem to limit the availability of that knowledge. Ethical judgements are made by the combination of a knower, his or her standard of value, and the situation itself. In the field of the arts and natural sciences, ethics plays a crucial role in the extent one may possibly be allowed to go when discovering new knowledge. Reason and emotion are important ways of knowing that help guide knowers in making certain moral decisions.
After a person is aware of their ignorance, they can seek knowledge by learning from others and discovering for themselves. Living a life where someone is constantly examining themselves is important because if they do not examine themselves, then they will not have knowledge about the things they do not know about themselves. Learning from others is a passive way of getting to know something because you are not trying to go out and experience it yourself and learn through experiences. Learning from others is crucial early on in a humans’ life. As humans grow up, they should start seeking more knowledge for themselves as opposed to learning from others because seeking knowledge for ourselves can help to get to the deeper truth about themselves or something else. In school, students often are learning from others instead of gaining knowledge themselves. When students start to discover knowledge themselves, they are trying to get to the truth and are interested in gaining knowledge about the
Discoveries have been made by individuals using the successes and failures of other individuals to shape their own knowledge and improve treatment methods. The differences among individuals with different religious backgrounds can also shape personal knowledge. Conflicts which lean toward a certain faith can tarnish that faith if people are not willing to fully comprehend the situation as well as the actual belief system. In order for shared knowledge to have any impact on personal knowledge, there must first be shared knowledge. People must be willing to share the personal knowledge which they have gained only from their personal experience. Once that knowledge is shared, people must then be willing to accept it, so consequently it can then shape their personal knowledge, which then will help the world continue to progress and
Truth and beliefs contribute in building the knowledge of a person. Cogent reasons for the beliefs convert the beliefs into knowledge. However, sometimes the beliefs are actually assumption, so they may be wrong. Truth is the facts known from different sources. Something can be considered as knowledge, only if it is true. The word epistemology refers to studying the source of knowledge. The epistemology helps in understanding the process of development of knowledge, sources of knowledge and makes distinctions between belief and actual truth. I critically examined and analyzed the origin and the process of acquiring the knowledge for the two essays I wrote earlier. One essay, an analytical one, was written on the subject of increasing prison population and improper justice system. The second essay was written on the subject of human resource management. To develop the knowledge and understanding I demonstrated in the essays, I had to search for resources, rationalize the information gained and evaluate it in conjunction with my personal beliefs.
In addition to the aforementioned information Neufeld (2009:82) states that we construct knowledge on top of what we already know. As new information come to us from the environment we perceive it as arrangement of figures that can be incorporated into our picture-frame that references the world to us. If that new information cannot be incorporated into our existi...
