Creative play is important to childrens everyday life. It can help devolop social skills, increase your imagination, and also learn to make your own decisions. There are many reasons on why creative play is important for your little ones, but these are the reasons I chose. Devoloping social skills is important in childrens lives. It can help them have easier communication with you. They will also learn different ways on how to communicate. Anyway that they will feel more comfortable talking is always a plus! Social skills is important because they can learn to be social in everyday life, and be a friendly person. My second reason on why creative play is important is because, being a young child and using your imagination is
Play is instrumental in the healthy development of children. The development of play throughout an individual life is essential in providing the necessary methods to foster growth and development in critical developmental areas. According to Davies (2011), play is instrumental in providing a bridge for the child to transition from a toddler with a limited capacity to understand the world into a child in the middle years who can think logically. Play is also important in fostering cognitive development, social development, language and communication, moral development, self-regulation, and sense identity.
Many children enjoy outdoor play, all aspects of development and learning are related in play. When children have ample time to play, their style of play will grow in how complex and also socially demanding it will become, for example as children maybe grow older they will choose who they will want in their friendship groups to play with them. As children play they are able to explore different materials in their environment and also discover different properties. As play continues children are able to use their knowledge of materials to play imaginatively with
An Article by Dr. Leong and Dr. Bodrova (2016) stated that play is beneficial to children’s learning especially when it reaches a certain degree of complexity. When they engage in play activities most of their early years, they learn to delay gratification and to prioritize their goals and actions. They also learn to consider the perspectives and needs of other people and to represent things significantly to regulate their behavior and actions in a cautious, intentional way.
All children play and it is something that most children do because they are having fun, but without realising children are developing and learning skills when they are engaged in play. Play helps stimulate the mind as it is practical and gives children the chance to explore and experience new situations. It can also ensure that children get to think by themselves and be spontaneous as they control their own play. Children get the chance to be creative and imaginative which develops independence for children. Play is vital for child development and helps children develop five main areas of development:
...ctive. Play is an essential learning tool and one that must not be ignored within the classroom. It is a catalyst to help children develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively. It is not only an important part of a child’s development as a pupil but also a child’s development as an individual.
I believe children should play creative because when the child gets older they will have better comunacation skills, problem sloving skills, and be able to handle real world situations better. When children are put into organized activitys they often don't get to express themselfs as they should, and they often get put in situations that the child doesn't want to be in. All children should be able to express themselfs in a manner they want to not how they are told to act. If a child has creative play time with other children when they become older it'll be easier for themto express themselfs to others and not feel so shy to show emotion towards others.
Creative play creates dynamic, unifying activities that integrate many areas of learning across the curriculum. As Knight (2011) discusses, early learning involves learning through stimulating play activities with appropriate caregivers support to provide young children with essential foundations for later learning. A combination of real and imaginary experiences is needed to encourage young children to learn.
Isenberg, J. P., & Jalongo, M. R. (n.d.). Why is play important? Social and emotional development, physical development, creative development. Social skills play a very crucial part in the existence of every individual. This is for the simple reason that the level unto which the social skills a person(s) has, generally describes the level of co-existence that prevail in that given environment (Sussman, 2012). The way a person describes scenarios, solves problems, analyzes situations as well as the overall communication, all form the basis of social skills. According to Jean Piaget’s theory of social (cognitive) development, it is expected that individuals should be mentally or physically prepared to face the realities of the world. It is also important to keep in mind that these skills would be effective when they are learned in early stages of life. Therefore, social skills should grow and develop when one is in the early years of life.
The following is a review of the article “Elaborated Role Play and Creativity in Preschool Age Children.” (Mottweiler & Taylor, 2014). The article discusses research that was conducted to evaluate the impact role play has on the creativity of children. The following describes the purpose of the research, the methods the researchers used, and an interpretation of their findings. I will also discuss how the findings relate to development and will conclude with a reflection on how my experiences relate to this study
To clarify the importance of play I would first explain what is the character of play in early childhood
Creative Arts in early childhood education refers to children’s participation in a variety of activities that engage their minds, bodies and senses (Sinclair, Jeanneret & O’Toole, 2012; Kearns, 2017); to inspire all children with the opportunity for creative and imaginative expression. Duffy (2006) and Sinclair et al. (2012) state that creativity is the process where children use their imagination to problem solve, develop new ideas, independence and flexibility to accomplish tasks. Furthermore, when educators foster creativity, they are assisting children in making meaning through play and developing their growing capacity to communicate, collaborate and think critically to meet the demands of life in the 21st century (Duffy, 2006; Korn-Bursztyn, 2012; Sinclair et al., 2012).
... goal is for children to become productive citizens in the world. With this being said, it is easy to see why creativity in the classroom is essential to the development of the young child.
Why play is important to the holistic development of the child & your role as an educator to support the children?
Child psychologists similarly view play "as a function of the social-emotional, cognitive and creative development of the child." (Neuman 140) In that view, playacting is far more significant than sheer amusement and enjoyments since its intention exceeds enjoyment and exercise of physical movements. In playing, a kid 's brain develops. He discovers how to identify right from wrong, he learns how to behave toward others and he understands what is amusing and what is not. (Reynolds and Jones 61-63) More significant, he acquires self-discipline: in his exchanges, with others, he realizes to put others ahead of himself since he will have to share his playthings. Understanding how to collaborate shall aid him in realizing achievement in his
